I lost my job today, what's a series that will cheer me up a little?

Overlord, Mushishi, some fapbait so I can switch to doujins and get back to anime after exhausting myself.

Same

The devil is a part timer

I'm never feeling down

Sure user, that's probably why you watch only go-to anime on repeat 24/7.

That would be closing all the blinds, lights off, having a single candle burning and get into bed to read some manga.

Setokai no Ichizon
Pres makes me happy.

...

Kaleido Star

It's fun, heartwarming and fabulous.

Best answer.

Carnival Phantasm
Kokkuri-san
Noucome
Nichibros

non non biyori

animated zooloft

Beat me to it

I watch pic related. You know, the greatest love story ever told.

I don't rewatch anime.

Aria is literally therapy without a jew telling you to take drugs.

Hackadoll never fails to make me laugh. Kawaisou is also pretty good.

K-On, though Konosuba is quickly becoming a favorite.

a Yotsuba is fine too, if you like to read.

Working!!

Or welcome to the NHK.

...

Daa! Daa! Daa!
It's lightheartedness and adorableness puts me in good mood.
Chris chan cutest yandere ever

Only one poster has been right so far, and it's not the one you think..

Bokurano.

Code Geass

This girl looks like a slut. Can she take some mad dick or are looks just being deceiving?

This

Nichijou

Tenchi Muyo.

she is Ten (10) years old.

NieA under 7

I feel relaxed just thinking about it

Naruto. (srs)

I read +tic neesan

Aikatsu.
It's a concentrated dose of optimism.
Aikatsu Stars is kind of poopy, though.

Gintama
Nichibros
Osomatsu-san

School rumble. Classic comedy.

Nichibros and that one short of the mangaka and his assistant.
I watched them like 5 times, they're just pure fun.

I'm not one for much rewatching, but mai waifu and her show will always lighten my mood.

Ninja Slayer desu.

It can be hard to stay awake though, so you don't always get much reading done.

Hotaru doesn't like dick.

Aria definitely. It's just so relentlessly heartwarming

Gurren Lagann
Haruhi

Welcome to the N.H.K has never once failed to cheer me up

Gurren lagann ore gintama
What the fuck is wrong with you ? Do you enjoy being depressed

the depression is therapeutic and leaves me hopeful that one day angel will come to save me too from my hikikomori ways

also nice trips

Your meme in April

...

I keep having this problem, setting up my pc and monitors around my bed was a huge mistake, it's way too comfy to do shit other than falling asleep

I know it may sound childish and cringe, but whenever I feel down, I think about what Gurren Lagann taught me. It's as if at the end of it all, when I have lost everything, I still have a little flame inside of me. It's my willpower, and I can make the fire rise to fix everything again. I feel as if the world was in the palm of my hand.
Just who the hell do you think I am?

I rewatch ttgl annually for motivational reasons

Aria or TTGL depending whether you want some sunshine or testosterone.

Teekyuu and Gdgd

SYD
Minami-ke Tadaima
Yuru Yuri
Flying Witch

Madoka magica

Texhnolyze

Enzai, love rape

Senpai, the ending ruined it for me, otherwise really great. For.me it's toradora though, doesn't get better than that

Madoka Magica
I wish there was a god and she was Madoka.

I don't rewatch, especially not I am down.

I only watch the edgiest shit though, SoL is a shitttier genre anyways

I lost my job 6 weeks ago; didn't tell my family over the entire holiday season (doable because I got a decent severance package, and at the point I will be eligible for unemployment I've done the budgetary math, and should be able to go on for at least several months).

The last 6 weeks were pretty 'nervewracking' to say the least as a lot of companies in my industry have something of a hiring freeze or slowdown at the end of the year for budgetary purposes or folks being out of the office on vacation. So I was pretty much sitting on my hands having an interview here or there (literally only received one offer in 6 weeks which had unfavorable terms in the fine print that I ultimately turned down) and freaking out. On some of those mornings, waking up at noon hungover as all hell from the night before, popping KinMoz on in the morning did help me take the gun out of my mouth and go make a cup of coffee at least once or twice.

That being said; chin up my friend; 2017 is here, hiring cycles are back on, as far as "times to lose your job", I would say you could definitely do worse than January. I don't know all the details of your particular arrangement if your household has multiple incomes or if you have dependents etc... but I'd say take a moment or two to have a deep breath, a stiff drink, puff on a blunt, take a weekend to drive out of state and do something fun, go watch a movie in a theater in the middle of the day, I don't know, do whatever the fuck makes YOU happy. And once you're relaxed, hit the job market full force. It's damn hard to look for future means when you just want it all to end. Last thing you want to do is "get in your own head" with panic over your situation.

Happy New Year and best of luck!

This

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE ttgl, but always found the final sequence to be pretty depressing. I mean think about it; sure all of the main characters were incredibly heroic and determined and whatnot, but they either all died in their fight towards their goal (Kamina, Kittan, Iraak, Kid, Jorgun, Balinbow, Nia, Spiral King etc...) or lost everyone and everything they fought alongside and for in the victorious aftermath (Simon, Yoko). Sure the "next generation" will be much better off for their sacrifice, which is a victory in it of itself but there really was no happy ending for most of the 'main cast'.

Gochiusa

...

Mushishi I guess. It gives tranquility, mellow music and a bit of fantasy.

the journey is the prize

What you posted, School Rumble, Dragon Ball (not Z, probably one of the world martial arts tournament arcs), Nichijou, Haruhi, Tatami Galaxy, MSG, or the dance episode of Eva

Gj-bu or K-ON.

Anything by Mizukami. Anime is hard to watch when you don't feel like eating or sitting up.

Aria is a soothing balm applied directly to your heart.

gay

Well if you're feeling gay you're not feeling down any more. Mission accomplished.

Non Non Biyori, Aria, Shirokuma Cafe or read some YKK.

Aaand now I'm rewatching this, thanks! It's pretty amazing that I'm still noticing new stuff, I've only just noticed that Assassin doesn't move in the OP, because it's the cardboard cutout Caster uses in Ep 1.

SZS

Yurika encourages me to FAITO!

NGE. Azumanga.

Or reading JoJo, Yotsuba.

Can you still watch this even without being familiar with Type-Moon's stuff?
