Honorable Mentions:
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar - It was a much more realistic look at the Isekai genre and watching these characters grow into being more competent fighters and learning to work as a team rather than just doing so right from the beginning lead to a better story.
AJIN - Because it was another fresh take into the 3D medium with varying but but mostly positive results.
Koukaku no Pandora - If you don't like nekomimi android battle maids you're a faggot.

KonoSuba wins on the strength of its comedy and strong characters, taking best boy and the top two slots for best girl thanks to Megumin and Aqua. Darkness did not contribute.

With fierce competition for almost every award, we move on to Spring:

Most dropped show - Kiznaiver, which lost 42 viewers, constituting 15.27% of voters

Honorable Mentions:
Mayoiga - Trainwreck of the season
kuromukuro - comfy mecha anime with great designs. Couldn't ask for more, except non-cgi mecha.
With Tanaka-kun wa itsumo kedaruge you think if you have seen one show like this in its genre, you have seen them all, but I couldn't help, but admire how hard Tanaka worked not to do anything. Also, Tanaka had a great cast of supporting characters.

With heavy hitters on both sides of the spectrum, victories were won by slim margins, with the exception of Luluco, which no other short even came close to.
Yuusuke manages to be the first and only male seiyuu to win an award.
Mayoiga, despite being by far the worst anime of the season, still managed to get more honorable mentions than any other show in any season. You guys sure love your trainwrecks.

>1 - flying witch
Based.

Most dropped show - BERSERK, which lost 48 viewers, constituting 17.27% of voters

Honorable Mentions:
Qualidea Code - This show was an absolutely complete train wreck with QUALITY out the ass. However it had a nice plot, decent characters, and watching it with Sup Forums was a blast!
Amanchu - Lovely Show, just not as good a slice of life as Amano's other works
91 Days - was plagued by it's animation, but made up for it in story. It was such a breath of fresh air to see an anime about the mafia, older characters, and subtle storytelling, for once. It's constant twists and turns made for a very compelling story.

Mob winning in almost all categories by a healthy margin thanks to solid animation and a strong male cast.
KonoBi may not have won anything as an anime, but it did manage to produce a top-tier girl or two.
BERSERK proves once again that you should read the fucking manga.

bump for interest

Finally, we reach the end with Fall:

AOTS:
3 - KEIJO!!!!!!!!, with 20 votes

Most watched show - FLIP FLAPPERS, with 167 viewers, constituting 60.51% of voters
Most dropped show - Occultic;Nine, which lost 35 viewers, constituting 12.68% of voters

Honorable Mentions:
Stella no Mahou - Animation and art style was beautiful
Long Riders - It didn't deserve the QUALITY it got from Actas. It's an excellent show.
Shakunetsu no Takkyuu Musume - Despite the moments of QUALITY, the actual matches are very well animated and provide a lot of excitement similar to Saki.

Flip Flappers dominates on the strength of its animation and magical OPED.
Kumiko and Euphonium didn't quite live up to their performance last year, but are still very much loved.

It's like half of Sup Forums man

Here comes damage control.

You are not smart

Now on to the yearly awards:

SOTY - Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, with 28 votes
DOTY - Kiznaiver, with 12 votes

OPOTY - Mob Psycho 100, with 30 votes
youtube.com/watch?v=3vnTP41LchI
EDOTY - FLIP FLAPPERS, with 46 votes
youtube.com/watch?v=mGKjPD_BNAE
OSTOTY - Shakunetsu no Takkyuu Musume, with 19 votes

Best Scene - FLIP FLAPPERS, with 8 votes
Yayaka vs Cocona battle

Best Seiyuu - Kurosawa Tomoyo (Oumae Kumiko, Akagi Miria, Liko), with 15 votes

Honorable Mentions:
Flip Flappers - Inventive use of visuals and symbolism to convey emotion and provide character development. Weak last third, though.
Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku - It wasn't in my top 5, but I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected and the Novels are quite good.
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu - Some of the most compelling drama I have ever watched. Real surprise from what I thought would be a sleeper about storytelling
91 Days - While it's animation suffered it was the complete story and great mafia story without seeming like a cheap ripoff.
Thunderbolt Fantasy - Might not be anime, but it's a pretty damn good Taiwanese puppet show

KonoSuba surprises everyone with its unique portrayal of isekai tropes.
Kiznaiver's resulting disappointment apparently didn't fade as quickly as Mayoiga's.
In a reversal of last year, Euphonium won OST for its season, but lost it to Takkyuu's ping pong beats for the yearly award.
Please note that Honorable Mentions are chosen by a combination of number of mentions and appeals that I thought were heartfelt. It does not necessarily mean that the show failed to place in any other category, though preference is shown to them.

The important announcements are about to start, but first let's put things in perspective by letting you know just what shows Sup Forums was watching.

Most watched shows:
1 - Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, with 194 viewers, constituting 66.90% of voters
2 - Boku Dake ga Inai Machi, with 181 viewers, constituting 62.41% of voters

9 - Haruchika: Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru, which lost 37 viewers, constituting 12.76% of voters
10 - Dimension W, which lost 36 viewers, constituting 12.41% of voters

A much closer race than last year, with every show in the top 10 getting at least 50%.
Kiznaiver also impresses by making both lists.

Now for the most important part, finding out who is the most beloved character of 2016:
5 - Natsuki Subaru from Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, with 5 votes
4 - Nikiforov Victor from x, with 8 votes
3 - Sakamoto from x, with 9 votes
2 - Reigen Arataka from x, with 19 votes

And the title of Best Boy 2016 belongs to:
Satou Kazuma from Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, who also got 19 votes, but won the tiebreaker by having more votes in his season than Reigen did in his

And for the less faggy anons, the girls:
5 - Yayaka from FLIP FLAPPERS, with 7 votes
4 - Papika from FLIP FLAPPERS, with 8 votes
3 - Rem from Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, with 13 votes
2 - Oumae Kumiko from Hibike! Euphonium 2, with 20 votes

>Long Riders
>It's an excellent show.
It's the epitome of mediocrity, who the fuck wrote those "honorable Mentions"?

And the title of Best Girl 2016 belongs to:
Megumin from Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, who also got 20 votes, but won the tiebreaker by having more votes in her season than Kumiko did in hers

>almost nothing for fags on ice
I guess that shows tumblr tourists don't participate in Sup Forums culture.

Flip Flap is going to be third

The QUALITY makes it moe.

Before we get to the best, it's time for the worst. Sup Forums's most hated shows of 2016:
5 - BIG ORDER 4u, with 8 votes
4 - Yaoi!!! on ICE, with 9 votes
3 - Reddit: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, with 15 votes
2 - BERSERK, with 18 votes

Please be Mayoiga.

And the Worst Anime of 2016 Award goes to:

Full Results are here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TTw2XnBIml4V9Bq_2hu9iUonvd0mteXb_zV60E_Wtcw/edit?usp=sharing
If you have any questions or recommendations, let me know.
I'll be posting some miscellaneous awards here until the thread dies.

Are you fucking kidding me

BASED FLAPPERS
SAVIOUR OF Sup Forums

Sup Forumsermin absolutely destroyed.

>333 Sup Forumsnons
That is a pathetically low turnout.

WHAT

>40 votes

WE DID IT

Welp, time to watch this.

Cross-shitters tend not to pay attention to this kind of thing, thankfully.

I SAID I WOULD BE MAD
FUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKKK

Wow.

This is fucking ridiculous

But before you start shitposting about the results, here are some alternative measures that address some of the more common complaints so that you can damage control even harder.

>but what if a dedicated fanbase were the only people who liked a show, that's not representative of Sup Forums
This is why we did the top five with points values. This way shows that made it into a lot of people's top 5 will get recognized more than a show that was only won 1st place votes.

Seasonal:
Winter:
3 - Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, with 198 points
2 - Boku Dake ga Inai Machi, with 210 points
1 - Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, with 429 points

Spring:
3 - JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken: Diamond wa Kudakenai, with 108 points
2 - Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, with 229 points
1 - flying witch, with 243 points

Summer:
3 - Amanchu!, with 113 points
2 - NEW GAME!, with 248 points
1 - Mob Psycho 100, with 292 points

Fall:
3 - KEIJO!!!!!!!!, with 98 points
2 - Hibike! Euphonium 2, with 185 points
1 - FLIP FLAPPERS, with 303 points

Overall:
5 - Hibike! Euphonium 2, with 239 points
4 - Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, with 283 points
3 - Mob Psycho 100, with 286 points
2 - Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, with 354 points
1 - FLIP FLAPPERS, with 372 points

While things mostly stay the same, KonoSuba jumps up a couple places and becomes the only show to compete with Flip Flappers in terms of broad appeal.
Mob also jumps into the top 5, narrowly beating out Re:Zero.

Oh boy, I love shit anime.

Is it actually good or is this recency bias?

Next time make a separate poll for AOTY, I don't want to spend time on useless shit like OP/ED etc. the only thing that matters is the best anime of the year

>Koukaku no Pandora - If you don't like nekomimi android battle maids you're a faggot.

Well, at least it got mentioned.

It flopped hard in Japan.

>but popular shows will obviously get more votes than hidden gems even if their quality isn't as good
This is what the AOTY - Weighted field is for. It takes the total number of votes a show received (filtered to those who also filled out the Completed field) and divides it by the percentage of people who gave it a shot (completed + dropped). This equalizes the votes as if each show had the same viewership.
That makes it a bit more fair, but it also introduces inaccuracies from the lower sample size (a lot of people didn't bother with the completed fields) and has a tendency to skew extremely low viewership shows to unrealistic numbers.

Seasonal:
Winter - Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, with 56 votes and 32.76% viewership, totalling 168 weighted votes
Spring - flying witch, with 57 votes and 62.54% viewership, totalling 88 weighted votes
Summer - Mob Psycho 100, with 78 votes and 59.71% viewership, totalling 127 weighted votes
Fall - Kaitou Joker 4, with 1 vote and 0.36% viewership, totalling 276 weighted votes

Overall:
5 - Hibike! Euphonium 2, with 22 votes and 53.26% viewership, totalling 30 weighted votes
3 - Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, with 32 votes and 69.09% viewership, totalling 41 weighted votes
3 - JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken: Diamond wa Kudakenai, with 16 votes and 32.00% viewership, totalling 41 weighted votes
2 - FLIP FLAPPERS, with 40 votes and 69.21% viewership, totalling 42 weighted votes
1 - Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, with 31 votes and 32.76% viewership, totalling 89 weighted votes

Rakugo absolutely dominates, but that's what happens when you only have half the viewers of the other top 5 picks.
Kaitou Joker 4 also gets a cheeky win thanks to the only person who watched it loving it.

MAD MAX: YURI ROAD

They did last year when OPM annihilated the competition. With a turnout this low it's hard to tell who was even voting this year.

What is SOTS and DOTS?

>but the poll is overrun by casuals whose votes shouldn't be counted
To account for this, I made new fields to filter out votes from people who didn't complete a certain number of shows per season. This should give results from only the serious fans without including all of those filthy casuals who definitely don't comprise a large portion of our board.
The main problem with this is sample size. Between the people who didn't fill out the completed field and those who didn't even watch more than 5 shows a season, we're down to 120 voters for the yearly ranking.

>5 shows per season

Seasonal:
Winter - Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, with 71 votes
Spring - flying witch, with 38 votes
Summer - Mob Psycho 100, with 49 votes
Fall - FLIP FLAPPERS, with 47 votes

Overall:
5 - flying witch, with 8 votes
4 - Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!, with 9 votes
3 - Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, with 11 votes
2 - FLIP FLAPPERS, with 15 votes
1 - Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, with 21 votes

Rakugo manages to overtake the competition by only losing 10 casuals, while flying witch sneaks into the top 5.

My pick didn't win, but I'm OK with this just for the keks!

>before you start shitposting about the results
>Flappers wins again
Based.

> Kaitou Joker 4, with 1 vote and 0.36% viewership, totalling 276 weighted votes

FUCKING Sup Forums STRIKES AGAIN

Suprise and disappointment

That's wrong, but I ain't mad.

That usually means it's great.

Voting for AOTY was the only thing required
The rest was optional.
