What do you think about Nekojiru?
What do you think about Nekojiru?
Despair but intriguing.
judgind by the pic, creepy af
what're you talking about user, nyako-chan is super cute
The short film/ova was great one of my favorites. I haven't read any of the manga yet but I'm downloading the TV shorts and will probably read through them once I've watched em all.
Meant to bump the thread but forgot I had autosage on, sorry.
Just letting you know the TV shorts are completely different from the OVA
The backstory behind the author is a little disturbed, but probably no less than the manga.
I expected as much, thanks for the heads up though.
Didn't she like abuse her husband and all that? I mean combined with her suicide and what she wrote about, I think she might've had some serious personality disorder.
Nekojiru-sou was the thing that got me into anime, and still one of my favorites. Not a big fan of Nekojiru Gekijou though.
>Nekojiru Gekijou
But that's the original user.
I know, but I watched Nekojiru-sou first and prefer its imagery.
>prefer its imagery
So essentially you prefer the pretentious version?
Pretty much, less cruelty and gore too.
But that's the whole charm of nekojiru.
>nyako's claw as a middle finger
I love it

I thought the short movie was kinda boring but I like ougi.
I watched cat soup once and hated it
Why?
she killed herself
He was probably scared.
Apparently the author wrote in her will to play SAW Volume II at her funeral.
Ran in front of a fucking train.
Shit is so metal.
It was boring
I don't recall the name but I've seen those characters before.
that was an interesting read
What other series were written by people who committed suicide?

I know the movie means absolutely nothing and that it's only partially based on the manga by a bit of plot and that's it, The imagery is wang.
But I always cry at the end credits watching how they repeat and interrupt again and again at the tune. I remember reading that the credits were an ode to the only time NekojiruY watched his wife genuinely happy, on a beach trip they had years ago.
Also, rare dvd comentary.

...
but it does mean something
it's a tribute to the author. not necessarily by aping the manga's style and approach but by attempting to get at the essence of nekojiru from a different viewpoint.
Ah I wish Yuasa was on that commentary as well.
...
I'm convinced the guy who created Shin Chan killed himself, and made it look like an accident.
>I know the movie means absolutely nothing
Isn't that kind of the undercurrentof Nekojiru stuff in general, a sense of meaninglessness?
>The imagery is wang.
?
More like the Japanese media covered it up, to save face.
I loved the nekojiru animation shorts. The innocent cruelty is disturbing, yet adorable.
I thought the film is actually really beautiful. I can tell they were heavily inspired by the Pink Floyd "Wall" film, and the story/art direction feels like one big acid trip. The soundtrack is great as well.
...
love it? is the whole manga translated yet?
...
It's weird in a good way and also good in a weird way
