How much value do you put into fan service?

How much value do you put into fan service?

...

Depends on the show. Some shows I care a lot. Some shows I find it extremely distasteful and out of place.

fan service is what keeps me engaged in an anime

Depends on what I'm watching. Usually I find it obnoxious but sometimes it's alright.

If you hate fanservice you hate anime

About 85%

Through dick, unity.

This

How much value do you put into visual direction?

Fanservice is a gift. You appreciate it or you don't.

I can't watch harems with fan service if the MC is either clumsy, the victim of sexual assault, that only reason he has a harem is because he's nice, or a beta male who can't initiate any romance.

If its not haremshit, its a guilty pleasure.

I dislike fanservice when it gets in the way of the story or character development. If the anime or manga is better with less, then there is too much of it.

On the other hand, if fanservice is the only redeemable thing about it, I just fap away.

If it fits the anime its fine

Why is Takagi so perfect?

Why are the Pillar Men so super perfect?

negative value

It shouldn't be a show's biggest/only selling point.

Depends on the quality of the fan service

Fanservice by itself = worthless.

Fanservice used to develop plot or characters = best thing in anime.

In a case of low-quality animation, it looks cringy.

it's pretty much the only reason I watch anime

I think HOTD had the perfect ratio of fan service and story, and more ecchi should strive to have that ratio.

Typically negative.

Depends on the content of the rest of the show. If there's nothing there but TnA I'm getting bored fast. I've got Gelbooru 'n shit for that

>Why is Takagi so perfect?
Stupid sexy Nazis.

Depends. If it's fan service with tits, I just kinda go past it and maybe feel something.
When you get into lolicon pandering territory, it's a little uncomfortable and I'd probably enjoy the show more if I didn't have to feel ashamed about my dick.

I'm tired of people thinking good plot and good stories are two incompatible things. The best anime have both, but SJW want you to separate the two. They know without the good story that the plot won't matter and eventually people will quit watching plot anime altogether. This is how they plan to get rid of sexual content in anime. Do not let them trick you. We must ask our local anime producers to add good plot and stories into the same anime. Good luck. God speed. el psy kongroo

A lot, I'm a shaftfag.

Depends, how hot are the girls?

A lot. Im a Shaftfag

>How much value do you put into fan service?

Depends how much effort the staff put into it to make it seem workable in the series. It can be don fine at times but also can be scene breaking

If it's a fanservice-driven show, a lot.
If it's a light-hearted show with moderate fanservice I'm all okay with it.
If it's a serious show with forced fanservice it's unnecessary.
If it's so dominant that it's part of the world-building itself, I'll stop noticing it eventually.

Its like a piece of cake. Have too much and you get sick of it.

A reasonable anime is a bit like getting a slice of cake. You sorta like cake but some asshole always wants to put fruit in the middle of it or some jelly shit. Then you get some quality fan service in your anime and find out that it's not cake, it's fucking ice cream cake and it's made your whole damn day.

I don't mind fanservice for the most part, if I'm gonna watch an ecchi anime, I'm probably gonna watch it for the fanservice and maybe stay for the plot, but when the fanservice overtakes a series that I started watching for the plot, that's where I fucking snap.

Fanservice done right.

Fanservice done wrong.

If it's placed in a situation that's supposed to be emotional/serious without any thematic purpose, I want to stop watching the show. That shit tells me that the people who made it don't even give a shit about their own story. Why should I?

i don't care about sexualization and drop it if it happens twice

like what? I'm thinking hard about it and I can't think of a time where it wasn't welcomed

Fanservice not done well enough

also who fucking considers them a fan of mugen world

>implying the subtleties like the bra snapping underneath weren't too much for your little brain
This is the thinking mans fanservice

Neither one really has meaning behind it. But of course I'm in the minority for liking fan service that also develops characters. or character development in general.

I've yet to see an example where fan service made something worst.

I don't really mind fanservice in any given genre (but if it's loli/shota shit, I drop it like a hot potato). Ideally, it depends on the setting and plot relevance (such as Keijo!!!!!).

No, it's just a scene for idiots like yourself.

I don't personally hate fan service, but it is tough showing friends/gf recommendations of shows like haruhi or hits because of the fan service.

See? Exactly. No one can name a show that was made worst because of fan service.

GitS

sums it up nicely

monogatari

my nigga

s2 can't come soon enough

>friends/gf
Kill yourself out of here.

neither is done right

nipples = fanservice
no nipples = blueballing

>want to watch something fun with my mom and dad
>pick bakemonogatari
They like it. Guess you just don't know your "friends" and "gf" well enough.

Spot the pleb.

Truly erotic porn/fanservice can turn true patricians on without showing anything.

Only dumb plebs like yourself need to see the naughty bits.

they were just being nice to you, i'm sorry

...

its fun. but if I arbitrarily think its annoying in any given show I'll stop watching

>fanservice==sexy female bodies
it's fucking 2017.

Enough

Uta Kata.

The random panty shots and tawdry camera angles conflict with the overall melancholic and dramatic tone of this magical girl coming-of-age story.
