No one is disputing it's use for medical treatment, but the recreational side of it is abused and causes psychological damage especially in young people all the way up to age 25. I used to smoke a lot but now limit it to a couple times a month or so, even then I should probably stop altogether. But by all means, use it medically for cancer or other diseases if it truly works and is cheaper.

Fun Fact: In the United States, you cannot be fired for failing a drug test if you are already employed with the company that requires testing. This includes government jobs. The company must allow you almost endless retest as long as you attend drug councelling, otherwise they can be sued for workplace discrimination.
This does not mean they must pay you for not working, or allow you on a jobsite, or pay for you rehab, just that they cannot fire you on the basis of a failed test.
The only catch to this rule is that any branch of the US Military may discharge you, honorably, for failure of neccessary fitness.

It's actually a very complex process because of all the different phytochemicals that interacts with different receptors in the human body. What sort of cannabis (strain), quality, dosage, delivery method (smoking, vaping, eating etc) plays a huge part in the overall effect. It's also very individual so there's no simple answer. I've come to view it as a personal experience and try to learn from that experience. It's more like deep meditation in that sense.
A few things: - Smoking/burning destroys a lot of good phytochemicals, vaping/eating is way better - Less is more / Moderation is important - 1:1 ratio thc/cbd is a good base - they work together - Whole flower contains most phytochemicals (depends on strain/quality)

Been smoking for ....3-4 years every day. Here are my experiences:
Good or bad? Good but you definitely dont want to become a habitual user. It makes being bored totally OK. And that is not OK.
Would take over any drug in terms of helping with the pain. Excellent when you have the flue. Am currently on the path of trying to drop it for good or at the very least cut down heavily. A job that is coming up should help with killing the time.
