ITT: All pious Christians and those with an interest in the faith are welcome to discuss all aspects of Christianity!
>Master, Lord our God, Who has established the orders and hosts of angels and archangels in heaven to minister to Your glory, grant that holy angels may enter with us, that together we may celebrate and glorify Your goodness. For to You belong all glory, honor, and worship, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages, Amen.
Quick Rundown:
>But user, why would god love me or want anything to do with me? I’ve never been to church and/or I’ve done degenerate and/or truly terrible things in my life!
We can get past that, fellow user!
>Now it happened, as He was dining inLevi’shouse, that many tax collectors and sinners also sat together with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many, and they followed Him.And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “Howis itthat He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”When Jesus heardit,He said to them,“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to calltherighteous, but sinners, to repentance.”[c] Mark 2 15-17
You see, it is not too late to repent of your sins and seek the love of Jesus in your life. ITT, we come together, and will help each other in any way that we can, so that we too might find inner peace, and a meaningful relationship with Christ!
For we are all lost, and previously-lost souls here in this fallen world, however if we choose to accept Christ into our lives, we will receive his blessings love.
>Sounds great, user! How should we do this?
Well, if you’re new here, I would start reading the Bible in the book of Matthew, the first book of the New Testament, which is when Christ enters the scene. It is often accepted that the KJV (King James Version) of the bible is the most accurate, however there are other acceptable versions also.
You can buy a KJV for ~$10-$25 on Amazon, or find a PDF for free, online!
Additionally, I always recommend “The Orthodox Way” as it describes the existence of God as we know him - what he is - and what he isn’t. This is an inexpensive, easy to read paperback book which is also available on Amazon!
Jose Lee
These two things will get you off to a great start! I assure you that whatever you’ve done in this life, it can be forgiven of you. Christ was sent to us on this earth to pay the ULTIMATE sacrifice for our sins and transgressions so that we may know true happiness and eternal life, and something greater than the emptiness and evil found in this world.
I truly believe that God has a plan for each and every one of you reading this, that he loves you, and is “knocking at the door” to our hearts hoping to receive our acceptance of him into our lives…
This thread is here for the discussion of all aspects of the faith by all Pious Christians and inquirers who are of course always welcome. What’s on your mind tonight, my brethren?
He is and ever shall be, fellow Christianon!

I wish Brother Nathaniel would do an Intro to Orthodoxy video. He emphaisizes Christianity in general, but he glances over Orthodox beliefs.
Eli Carter
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Angel Carter
>Copypasta, todays edition I think you're looking for the Jewish General thread which may or may not be a thing. The Sabbath is Saturday, Christians celebrate Jesus' resurrection/triumph over death on Sunday.
Also for those lurking, its important that we all understand free will. It would explain the situation to this poster if this were real, and its an important lesson for the rest of us also. TL;DR
>Based God created us so that we could share a meaningful, two-way relationship with us >Thus we could be hardwired slaves, in order for this relationsip to be genuine and have value, we needed to choose to love God of our own free will
Unfortunately, some people abuse this gift. They take their free will, which they could've used to live a wholesome life, and they instead do degenerate/evil things with it, like in the copypasta.
God will always honor our free will, even it means that others in the race of man must suffer because of it. But in the end, based God always has the final word - and he does not take pleasure in punishing those who do terrible things with their free will.

10/10 image lol. Is that guy just a meme, or is his stuff any good? Ive honestly never watched him, but I suppose that I should.
I wish there was more Orthodox content out there on the internet period, but figuring in that there was virtually no Orthodox content even in English 100 years ago, we shouldn't complain too much I guess.

According to scripture, the god that you worship, Rabbi Yeshua/Yahweh, watched as an innocent 8 year old girl was tortured. I wonder what your Rabbi/god was doing while he watched?
Jayden Scott
How's she doing now?
Levi Richardson
God doesn't "watch" events unfold. He views all of time as if it were a yardstick laid out before him. He sees the entire mosaic of all creation at once. Unlike YOU, he knows the end toward which everything is headed. Your brain, compared to God's mind, is like the brain of a lobster compared to a brain the size of the largest of all suns. You literally cannot conceive what is in store.
Jayden Kelly
Weeping.
The existence of a tragedy, even one as horrible as yours, does not negate the will of God, or the plan of God, or the very existence of God. I understand how a person could lose their faith over something as horrible as that. But there was also another horrible tragedy some 3000 years ago:
>2Ki 6:25 There was a great famine in the city; the siege lasted so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty shekels[fn] of silver, and a quarter of a cab[fn] of seed pods[fn] for five shekels.[fn]
>2Ki 6:26 As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, “Help me, my lord the king!”
>2Ki 6:27 The king replied, “If the LORD does not help you, where can I get help for you? From the threshing floor? From the winepress?”
>2Ki 6:28Then he asked her, “What’s the matter?” She answered, “This woman said to me, ‘Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we’ll eat my son.’
>2Ki 6:29 So we cooked my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, ‘Give up your son so we may eat him,’ but she had hidden him.”
Remember that the witnesses to that tragedy, and all those who have passed the story down, maintained their faith regardless of it.
There is still hope.

If you guys are going to try and use the fact that Jesus was born to the Judean tribe against us, you should at least make an effort to understand it first. None of this means what you think that it means:
>Based Jesus is born to the Judean Tribe, who are "God's Chosen People (tm)" as God has chosen them to bear the Physical Incarnation of his Son, Jesus Christ
>Multiple Prophets foretold of Jesus' Birth and Life >Based Jesus begins his ministry, shows the world the light of God and the path to Eternal Salvation >Many Judeans exclaim "Wow, this man truly is the Son of God" as foretold by the prohets after watching him perform miracles healing the sick and suffering among other things, done by the power of God for Jesus to prove who he was. Said good Judeans became what we would refer to as the first Christians!
>The Bad Judeans were not fans of based Jesus. For they had been expecting a brutal warrior to slay the other peoples of the world, and they got a friendly man born in a manger whose message was Love and Repentance. They raged, and raged hard:
>"This man is too nice!" >"We were expecting a conqueror, this man is healing the blind" >"NO! BAD GOY! SLAY OUR ENEMIES YOU STUPID NAZARENE!! REEEEEEEEEEE"
They were so bootyblasted over this, that they did everything they could to trick Jesus into persecution (Mark Chapter 12, for example),not realizing that the plan all along was that he would be crucified and ultimately triumph over death, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16)
Anyway, the (((Pharisees))) and the (((Bad Judeans))) played right into the hands of our Heavenly father. They were so mad about the whole Jesus thing that they never really got over it, and later went on to create what we know as Modern Judaism.
TL;DR - Jesus was a Judean Judean =/= Modern Jew

So Rabbi Yeshua allowed the torture of the innocent 8 year old child? I thought the Rabbi could move mountains? He couldn't work a literal 30 second miracle to let one of his children out of the dungeon?
Landon Sanchez
That guy is just another troll, I've seen this copypasta in 3-4 threads. I think it actually started out as a legitimate question, but these people are using someones actual tragedy as fedora fuel to troll us with.
I have some "canned replies" for them. Its the same exact "questions" every night, that most of these people know the answers to already and are still here shilling, or they're so caught up in Atheism they dont care what they say, they only want to derail our threads, not realizing that their canned posts and my canned replies and great reading material for the lurkers here, as the "discussion" is somewhat similar to what the Christian might face discussing his faith with someone in real life.
Regardless, I always try to point out that even for what they're doing, Jesus still loves them and will gladly accept them back someday if/when they decide to seek out something more meaningful than the emptiness of this fallen world.
But regardless today I will try to reach out to this person. Why are you here? What is the experience you've had with Christianity, has there ever been one? What exactly are you trying to accomplish by posting these things?
Also I already answered
Asher Perry
Yes, he could, but he has providentially allowed this world to play out as it has for the BETTER GOOD that will come from it in the age to come, in the new heavens and the new earth. Paul says this world with all its pain and suffering is creating a weight of glory that will be revealed eventually.
Alexander Roberts
Let me get this straight. The Rabbi, who is capable of literally moving mountains, had the option of performing a tiny miracle to stop the torture of one of his children but did not do so. Choosing to allow the torture was the superior course of action?
Gavin Bailey
I'm talking about the providential purposes of God in creation and allowing the Fall... I don't mean to be rude, but part of the problem in discussing these things with non-believers is their incredible ignorance of even basic Christian doctrine. I think a lot of these questions would be cleared up if you would look into Christianity 101 kinds of beliefs. Go google around and read about providence and these answers will become clearer, and you'll see why that question you just asked me was a complete non sequitur to what I wrote.

The Rabbi performed petty miracles like turning water into Manischewitz (wine), but he couldn't intervene for 30 seconds to stop the bone breaking and burning alive (video related) of one of his children?
What's your point, yid? You keep calling Immanuel a rabbi, he was just the Son of God
Henry Reyes
He doesnt have a point, he's just trying to troll you guys. I addressed what he "asked" many posts ago.
I dont miss those days TBQH, I was a fairly militant atheist from about age 9 until ~22 or so. I already told him the door is always open for him to come and join us, I hope he will one day.

Same. Every confession brings me to tears when the priest tells me that God still loves me.

OP, please wake up.
Scroll to the bottom of truthism.com and read "The Solution."

Please help me /cg/.
Today my dad asked me a question about his phone, so I went to fix it. I decided to glance at his search history. It turns out that he watches a ton of pornography. Not just vanilla, but he watches videos of dogs and horses with girls. I also saw a website about buying mail order brides from Russia in his search history.
My dad is the most 'hardcore Christian' I know. He doesn't listen to music on the radio, he listens to Christian radio stations with priests talking and stuff. He goes to church every week, while nobody else in the family goes. He reads the Bible in his spare time. In fact, the only thing he talks about is the Bible and Christianity.
To add insult to injury, he doesn't let me open my door because he says I'll fap if my door is closed. Which I do, because I'm on fucking Sup Forums, but still.
What do? I can't look him in the eyes after seeing bestiality in his search history.
Bentley Thompson

christian newfag here, I just finished reading the OT (about to start NT) and I have a few questions that I would really love an answer to. Most are directed at Catholicism >Is there anything you could do that would make you unsavable? (i.e. any big sin like murder or homosexuality) >Why do Catholics believe in salvation through works and your salvation can be taken away? >Why don't Protestants do the Eucharist? >What makes a Catholic priest a higher authority of the Bible, than any other person
The reason I ask is because Sup Forums got me interested in Catholicism initially, it's the church of my extended family and so I started reading the OT in the ESV Bible. Since it took a while, I've since been convinced that the Protestant church makes more sense. This was due to watching many christian threads on Sup Forums and seeing their discussions. As I'm about to start the NT, I'm considering reading it from the KJV Bible instead. I feel it wouldn't be fair if I didn't hear more of the Catholic side of the discussion before making this decision though. Also I was baptized as a baby if that makes any difference.
Jordan Adams
I think they are more likely to be atheists than Pagans.
That is very sad.
Elijah Ward
>>Is there anything you could do that would make you unsavable? (i.e. any big sin like murder or homosexuality) Not sins, persay - but in the sense that sin is rejecting God, and the only thing that could part you from salvation is you walking out the door, there is at least reason to regard sin as truly lethal. But Christ forgave you before you even had the chance to sin. He covered the sins you already committed, He still covers those you're yet to commit; they're not a surprise to Him.
>Why don't Protestants do the Eucharist? Some do, it's just taken less seriously; it isn't literally a pre-req, but in the same way baptism is a very positive outward demonstration of faith, so is communion. >What makes a Catholic priest a higher authority of the Bible, than any other person You mean authority of? Same that would make any academic a higher authority on a particular subject. But I'm not Catholic, so on this point context of authority may differ substantially, particular with regard to working up in the clergy.

>Is there anything you could do that would make you unsavable? (i.e. any big sin like murder or homosexuality) Die in a state of mortal sin; ie commit a reallly bad sin, then dont confess it. >Why do Catholics believe in salvation through works and your salvation can be taken away?
We live in time. In order to be saved we must constantly be accepting Christ. It isnt a one shot deal. >Why don't Protestants do the Eucharist? Because they are heretics >What makes a Catholic priest a higher authority of the Bible, than any other person A preist isnt. The bishops are. They are the successors of the apostles. (I guess the priest is appointed by the bishops and trained in theology too)
