How many Bitcoin do you own Sup Forums?

Only 0.0250809 which about $280 worth right now. I plan to buy more.

What's a Bitcoin?

Currency backed by memes. Other coins are going to be better long term. Odds are the eventual winner hasn’t even been made yet. Right now this looks like beanie babies for tech nerds.

I just sold my stake at 10900, not sure if I'll jump back in or not. I think it might get to 15 or 20, but I don't see how it can continue that route. That and when you have people that know jack shit about it that are starting to get in, it just seems like a recipe for disaster. I remember the housing crises and that crash, I made money, I'm happy, time to cut and run. Am I the only one?

And to add, I think it's in bubble territory now, when it pops, it's going to hurt a lot of people. I just hope the fools are borrowing money to do this, but I think they are, so this is going to fuck up some people.

I bought my house at the bottom of the crash. Paid 151,600 for it in 2011. I owe 106,000 on it now. My bank values it at 320,000. They keep offering me home equity loans. I don't think so.

20...

How much did you sell? I think it's going to keep going up, even passed 20k.

>buttcoins
lmao kys shill when are mods going to ban this shit from Sup Forums

I had .256 a couple weeks ago but I sold it all. I know a bubble when I see one and I've had them since they were worth less than a dollar. So even if it miraculously goes to the moon in value, I made my cut, and can't complain.

0

Face it, Bitcoin has no future and will never solve its scaling problems.

Get on board the IOTA express while its still so cheap.

You only bought .256 when they were worth less than a dollar? You must hate yourself right now.

>it's going to hurt a lot of people

Imagine what's going to happen to all the overclocked videocards and server racks.
All that used hardware is going to hit the used market and crash prices there too.

Then some of that shit is going to get scammed into the "unused" hardware market... Then people buy cards from (((online vendors))) and their personal computer releases the magical purple smoke of electronic sorcery.

Who's left to blame when the smoke clears?
The one that actually exists; the manufacturer.

I'm still trying to sell off all the baseball cards I collected in the 80's

Some mined back in 2008. Some bought around $50

Mine went up nearly $50,000 last year alone.

Lol tmosley

I had 3 numbers that repeated on Sup Forums and got 1 bitcoin. It was worth $235.7 USD then. I don't know what to do with it.

broke college kid that mined them on a single gpu.
never had much money to invest and even in hindsight the idea of investing what little money I had into some meme black market fueled bullshit that could have easily been worthless, and still could be imo, is a dumb idea. My fault for being conservative with my money, but that's not a terrible thing.

is computer processing power a meme?

I literally can't use bitcoin to buy anything other than currency of some form or another and you don't think it's not bound to crash. Let me know when shops, businesses, and people around me start accepting bitcoin.

>Participating in jewing of this scale....

...

No but it's very easy to cross over to something else. If everyone today decided to sell there bitcoins because some vulnerability in sha256 came out. Bitcoins value would drop to nothing in a day all that imagined gold you had hording would be worth nothing in seconds. Then everyone would move on to whatever currency was more secure and then that would inflate in value. Next thing you know these schmuckcoin guys are billionaires until the same shit happens to them.

I TURNED $10,000 INTO $12,500 IN ONE WEEK.

no reason to buy now. it has basically peaked. i envy the fags who got in early tho

Just wait a hot minute after it turbo crashes. It's done this like 2-3 times already. It goes up more and more each time but always crashes to retard low levels.

I have 89 left over of the ones I mined way back when.

>tfw you had a wallet with around 3000 btc from 2012

>tfw lost all information regarding it.

Another reason a limited availability currency that's anonymous is not sustainable. Lost coins are going to continue to happen at some statistical rate. Eventually it will become impossible to trade large amounts of btc as they wont exist. Then with weaker trade volume the implicit value drops off, and mining becomes more and more worthless. Once miners give up the ledger dies along with the currency.

None cuz I'm not a retard.

21 nigga
Another 5 in alts

I just sold my bitcoin cause I needed to pay off my credit card debt
I have a little Ethereum though, only like .2

>price dips
>Every exchange site goes down at once
>An actual avalanche of people going apeshit happens on /biz/ alone

pass

not sure if it will crash due to the hype. every time it dips slightly people buy hard

How much of that power you think will be maintained once mining is no longer profitable?

1
i'm going to start trading it this week and probably end up with 0

I'll give you trading advice in exchange for some bitcoins
stoicconsular at protonmail

Majority of it, I have a few bucks in there to hedge my bets, but I still think it's going to pop, then I'll jump back in and buy low.

Nice, just pay it off man, own it outright. They money you'll save will be amazing. Try to pay a little more on it to pay the principal balance down.

I'm still renting, granted I'm changing careers and pay child support, but I'm not in a huge rush to get married again and buy a house. Maybe one day.

Did people really get rich from investing in bitcoins? Like if you had bought $500 worth of bitcoins years ago, without doing ANYTHING else like mining or whatever the fuck, you'd be able to exchange your coins for a shitton of real money?

Well, no I did not do any of that because I am a retard and can't into technological currencies, but if that's what happened, I wish I did. Any new meme currencies to get into?

the technology exists. bitcoin is going to continue to grow. its a currency that is fast, secure, decentralized, and doesnt need a middle man, private. people making money off its growth are just speculators or early adoptors. I could go on about how amazing something like this is but until you put the time and effort in, you know, actually learn about how it works.. why it works and what its going to do to every economy in the world over the next few years you really should just shut the fuck up. I see these threads come up more and more and it really makes me lose my faith in this place because the people that poo poo bitcoin or either ignorant by choice or too stupid to understand the technology. You think this is a bubble? Blockchain technology is JUST starting to hit the mainstream.
turn off the fucking tv, think for yourself, read about it, understand it. Draw your own conclusion.

I've decided that this casino is too volatile and decided to ga,ble with stocks instead.

There are multiple methods of cashing out

IOTA AKBAR

There’s a shit load of coins now. All of them going to the moon of course.

about tree fiddy

I CAN'T CASH OUT COINBASE BANNED MY ACCOUNT

9,3

you have to find that... for fucks sake dude.

What do you mean? Just tell me a meme currency I can throw real money at in one sum and cash in to be a millionaire later on with

Zero because I work at Walmart, don't live with my parents, and have bills to pay.

1488
Used to have 4000 but I started selling when it hit $3600.

Not to mention actually using them point of sale purchases will be impossible due to the volatility. The price of an item would have changed 100 times by the time you got to the register.

And yes I am set for several lifetimes and will keep 1488 bitcoins and have invested a big part of my money in realestate and gold.

hey breakroom wtf did you go I miss you at /ptg/

Fucking hell. If this turns out to be true...

Sell, move to Thailand and live like a king for the rest of your days

I killed a bunch of Mexicans in the parking lot and had to lay low.

I own shares because I wanted to invest not gamble.

>live like a dirty peasant and fuck ladyboys for the rest of your days.

I need to get money out of Vietnam (to Canada ideally) but the government makes that really hard to do legally.

How can bitcoin help me?

Why aren't millionaires investing in bitcoin and increasing their net worth tenfold?

>in realestate and gold.
physical gold? You have the bars?

have a certain quantity but will sell all this week, has been a fun experiment

.00042109

17. Far Fewer than I have had in the past. The hash difficulty has since quintupled.

bitcoin is
>anonymous
>available to anyone using the internet
I'll leave the rest up to you, m8

best description I've heard

310 BTC, bought them in 2014

Smart move user. Now throw that jew card into a fire.

No reason not to be explicit with me: how so I use it to move money internationally?

Do I have much hope of finding someone to sell bitcoin in a country like Vietnam? Does that pretty much depend on the demand of people wanting to get money in vs. out of a country?

I suppose the same sort of situation would exist in China (bit 100x larger). D'ya know anything about bitcoin being used to get money out of China?

>Shut the fuck up FBI
Do some googling I'm not going to break the law for you

haha

not a bad life

too bad coinbase bans your account for cashing out or doesnt deliver half the time

none. i first heard about bitcoin when it was about $6 on orlingrabbe.com. anyone remember orlin grabbe?

FBI doesn't give a fuck if you break the law of third world communist countries.

Does bitcoin have any use (aside from speculation) aside from money laundering?

You should gamble by buying as much silver as you can.

You've been reported to your superior, enjoy getting fired, now fuck off

0.0007, bought last week

and 0.78 litecoin

bow before me, normies

...

replying to this post

poorfag here. whats my best investment option? litecoin?

Zero, I only buy bitcoin to cover my clients' ransomware payments. I should add my technician fees to the bitcoin purchases and sit on that.

how old are you?

I just looked up some of my cards from the 80s and they were worth more in the 90s than now.

It isnt even worth the time to lost and sell them. I could make more money ina week of work than all of them being sold.

I'm personally a Litecoin-fag. It's up 2000% YTD, so yeah it's a decent coin. Projected growth is good.

had some when they were 300, sold at 1,500 that one week when it spiked like crazy thinking it was a bubble

fml

What was the price when you bought it first? And how many did you buy?

It’s litterally backed memes, it’s basically like buying shares of a penny stock but blown way the fuck out of proportion. It’s a fucking pump and dump but the pump keeps growing because every retard and their mother is buying this thing because of artificially generated media hype. Bitcoin has no real value, and once people realize it and the huge ass support breaks everyone will try to cash out at once and the price will go to a few hundred dollars at best.

I KNEW ABOUT BITCOIN IN 2011 BUT I WAS A DUMBASS LIBERAL HIGHSCHOOL STUDENT WHO HAD NO FUCKING JOB REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

14 and people here laughed at me when i went all in at $3500 saying i was going to lose all my money.

You would have sold at the 2013 MtGox crash.

.06

I remember MtGox, took my the bitcoins I had with it, really sucked.

What happens then?

when i first heard about bitcoin it was still early enough to make a shitton of money, but i was stupid enough to think that people could see that bitcoin has no value besides investment.
last time i tried buying them was shortly before the crash. luckily i was too lazy to actually set up the wallet.

i will laugh out loud when this happens
