I think tax simplification is actually even more important than tax cuts at this point. Tons of leftists and centrists think that intricate regulations = "sticking it to corporations" or "keeping them in check" or whatever, but it actually creates these intricate tax games (with loopholes and exceptions and deductions etc. etc.) that only people with tremendous resources are even capable of playing.
