"This week, TV Asahi broadcasted a special three-hour program entitled, “Voice Actors General Vote, as Chosen in Earnest by Popular Voice Actors: 3 Hour Special,” or, “Voice Actor General Vote 2017.” It celebrated the all-time best in the industry."
They invite Akira Kamiya who is pretty much retired already.
Aiden Perez
"Popular Voice Actors"
Jose Clark
Same as Shuichi Ikeda, they have a great voice but they only have one voice, no range or barely any range at all. Which makes me wonder why Akio Ōtsuka is in the list since is is worse than them in that aspect.
And the lack of Akira Ishida is painful.
Dominic Myers
>Sugita not in the 25 spots You want us to believe this crap?
>Sugita isn't popular. People kiss his feet when he enters the streets.
Kayden Gomez
but everyone's acted in DBZ by now
Kevin Scott
>Masako Nozawa is number 2
Okay guys, pack it up, list is discarded.
Christopher Thompson
>#25 Sumi Shimamoto >Not top 5 Shit list
Parker Reyes
How the fuck is Sugita not popular
John Cook
>no Ishida
???
I know he's an unfriendly old man, but nobody can deny his skill.
Fujiwara and Seki are very well deserved, though.
Asher Sanders
>no Akira Ishida I hate everyone.
Jeremiah Ward
People just hire him for that one voice. I remember Sharpio being significantly different from his typical role although that could've been because it was more an age thing because Dancougar was years ago.
Adrian Wood
>no Ishida >no Nakata >no Kazuhiko
Caleb Lewis
Same deal with Sugita actually. He's got range but producers hire him only for that deep baritone voice. If they want another kind of voice, they'd hire other people instead.
Hell, even Masako Nozawa can actually do variety of voices.s
Isaac Young
Where's Miyano?
Caleb Sanchez
>no Maaya Sakamoto shit list
Even married and being over 35, she's still prettier than any of the young pseudo-idol VA's. Not to mention more talented. She's done a fuckton of roles. You'd be hard pressed to find an anime fan who isn't a big fan of one of the series she has worked on.
Atsuko Tanaka still has the sexiest voice in the industry.
Juan Sanders
It's an "of all time" list. Clearly, it's going to be slanted towards more of the older veterans of the industry.
Caleb Wood
I'm doing some research on why Ishida isn't in it. So far I'm only seeing rumors and no real sources, but people are saying that he didn't want to be bothered with news coverage. I can definitely see that being the case, as there's no way he wouldn't be in it otherwise.
Anthony Parker
range =/= quality
Sugita doesn't even even have decent acting with his main voice. Literal meme seiyuu.
Dominic Harris
>Atsuko Tanaka still has the sexiest voice in the industry. Minami Takayama for me so I'm okay with this list.
Jace Sanchez
>1: Kōichi Yamadera Steve Blum fags on live support.
But the list is missing a ton of good seiyuu like Ogata Megumi. So as with all lists, its stupid and should be ignored.
Dylan Morgan
Ogata isn't good, the bitch has barely any range
Zachary Stewart
>no Kaneto Shiozawa
How soon they forget the legends that have passed.
Matthew Howard
he deserves a lifetime award for his performance as kirei
Grayson Bennett
>the bitch has barely any range >voiced one of the highest pitched girls in all of anime >goes on to play male roles and traps because she can go down 4 octaves
Ogata literally IS range. You can complain about her tone but not her range.
Josiah Thompson
>he's pounding rie every night why live
Nicholas Sanchez
Shut the fuck up rookie and get my coffee
Landon Morgan
>Ishida's peers didn't vote for him
Don't be like that senpais
Carter Diaz
>Megumi Ogata has no range Is this bait? Or are you using a term you don't understand?
Juan Kelly
>They like me! They really like me!
Hunter Diaz
As a friend
Colton Perez
Junko Iwao deserves to be in the Top 25
Hayashibara should have been in the Top 10
Thomas Howard
>Literally meme seiyuu Meme doesnt mean what you think it means unless youre being redundant for the sake of redundancy.
Matthew Roberts
where is hiroshi kamiya
Parker James
>no Wakamoto >no Jun >no Sugita >no Chiwa fuck this shit
Aiden Morris
Doesn't matter, at least he won't die a lonely dyke spinster like Akane, who had to try and blackmail a man into marrying her and still couldn't get it done.
Elijah Collins
Based Kaura.
Jaxson Parker
>no Yamaguchi Kappei
I'm really happy about some others who were included, but.... what?
Charles Sullivan
Most of these are pretty old seiyu who had their prime time around the 90s and early 00s. I would like to know the age group of the sample taken for this survey.
That being said, >4: Miyuki Sawashiro >5: Tomokazu Seki I'm so glad these two made it to top 5.
Leo Baker
>no Aoi
like lol for real? shit list t.bh
Jason Lee
They are still above among the top class today, Nosawa and Inoue-san staying strong as ever. Hayashibara not trying to give up
Really want to see the full 200 seiyuu list.
Landon Johnson
>implying goku is the only she voiced go watch more older anime
Brandon Sanchez
>Not likely badass Granny Goku who been doing this shit long before you were born.
Noah Price
Aoi is shit
Grayson Taylor
Miki and Ishida are really the only ones who I feel should be on here too. Guess Ishida needs to get out more.
Henry Myers
Koyasu and Miki should be in top 20 for how hard they worked in getting more roles then most seiyu.
Dylan Bailey
>Keiji Fujiwara I had no idea he was so popular, I'm glad
Caleb Lopez
You see a huge representation of kids anime in the list yet a lack of Pokemon seiyuu (Miki would be James for close to 20 years).
Leo Allen
>Hayashibara >Not top 3
Shit list.
Nathaniel Adams
I don't know about her being that high, but I have to say that I'm really, really surprised Sawashiro is as high as she is.
Tyler Clark
If they were going by popularity overall, Hayashibara would easily be in the top 3. If not #1. But you'd have to consider anime over the last 40+ years and not just recent. Hayashibara basically topped the carts every year from 1995-2004. For fuck sake, Rei was still topping polls when CardCaptor Sakura and Love Hina were out.
Bentley Parker
Kikuoe Inoue deserves in the top 10 list. Female seiyuu in the 90s must be full of sharks.
Michael Smith
Where is Chiwa ?
>3: Keiji Fujiwara >4: Miyuki Sawashiro
At least these two made it, I am happy.
Adam Rodriguez
>17: Yoshiko Sakakibara How she hasn't had any roles since Dragonar Academy.
Jason Reed
>no Akira Ishida Instantly discredited.
Angel Scott
You. I like you.
Blake Hughes
The only footage shown at her part was Zeta Gundam, they must love Haman.
Lincoln Diaz
>no Wakamoto
Robert Price
Japs love Shinchan
Chase Bell
>4: Miyuki Sawashiro
Julian Gonzalez
didn't know she voiced Haman and also she must have a good singing career too.
Logan Watson
>No Ishida Akira
What is this list based on anyway? Pure voice acting with range and acting skills?
Even aside from pure popularity VAs like Sugita and Kamiya it makes no sense to keep out Miki and Ishida Akira
Honestly memes aside I think Nakamura deserves to be on the list and maybe Sakurai and Fukujun
Even Suwabe made it but Akira doesn't?
Parker Wilson
>Yoshiko Sakakibara Shit that was Yui Sakibara not Yoshiko FUCK!!!!!!
Matthew Bailey
>full of sharks. you mean full of juggernauts
Ethan Martinez
>14: Junichi Suwabe Bullshit
Gabriel Anderson
>No Kikuoe Inoue Shit list
Mason Williams
>no HanaKana Get on with the time gramps.
Leo Collins
>No Koyasu and Midorikawa who were everywhere in the 1990s and early 2000s.
Samuel Gutierrez
Fujiwara that high? Does he even any long term roles other than Shin Chan.
Liam Green
>Tomozaku Seki >no Toshihiko Seki
Who'd he piss off?
Xavier Flores
>What is this list based on anyway? >Title in link clearly says "The Top 25 Japanese Voice Actors of All Time, as Voted by Their Peers" Did you even click the link?
Michael Morris
>no daisuke ono >ctrl +f >still no daisuke ono what the fuck, Sup Forums
Maaya Sakamoto is a singer. She did a pretty weak job in Escaflowne and Final Fantasy. She mostly gets roles because of how she looks and sings, not her acting talent. So of course a grouping of seiyuu aren't going to praise her.
Hey, she can do plenty of voices. She can be angry cute, quiet cute, cute as fuck. And she can also get all serious, but still be cute. That's fucking impressing.
Logan Lee
I got it wrong, I thought it was Yui Sakikibara who did Dragonrar Academy, did a ton of openings and a dancer.
Aaron White
>17: Yoshiko Sakakibara Based.
Logan Myers
Yoshiko got the sexiest voice I've heard. I dislike all those high pitched whiny female VA voices and her raspy, sensual voice without trying to be an ara ara stereotype gets me. Every time.
