Is this the most heavily marketed film of 2017? Literally there are ads everywhere. Living in Japan There are fucking elevator doors with with this kind of art on it. I understand the last Koike Lupin thing was great and successful but it's just weird how hard they're pushing it when the previous TV series didn't get this much attention. I didn't even see as much Kimi no Wa advertisements when that came out.
I will be shocked if this turns out to be any good. The staff is fine and all I just have feeling
Logan Hall
How can you be shocked when the last film was heavily praised. Koike isn't the kind of guy who you expect to shit out a bad film. If anything, you should say it will be shocking if it turned out bad.
Isaac Nguyen
fucking elevator doors.
Camden Perez
What's that Oasis thing?
Juan Roberts
Moemon is the cutest Lupin.
James Moore
it's not Lupin so it's most likely shit.
Brandon Bell
It's also Oasis so it's undoubtedly shit.
Hudson Walker
That's really neat, did Jigen's Gravestone do very well? Koike's Lupin is fantastic, the best its been in decades in my opinion. Film of the year is doubtful because Science Saru's going all out, but still glad to have this too.
Daniel Perry
>That's really neat, did Jigen's Gravestone do very well? very well >Koike's Lupin is fantastic, the best its been in decades in my opinion. lets not get carried away. maybe of this past decade. >Film of the year is doubtful because Science Saru's going all out oh I though you were serious for a second.
Anthony Watson
Best since Dezaki imo, whenever his last thing was. >I thought you were serious for a second What?
Jordan Kelly
>Dezaki the last Lupin thing he's worked on was Harimo's treasure which was only okay but since then we've had amazing Lupin movies like Walther P38, Missed By a Dollar and Return the Treasure which easily equal Jigen's Gravestone in terms of quality.
I wish I could understand the appeal of Gravestone. I think it's a cool Lupin movie but it's so damn flawed. for one it's only 50 minutes long. Way too short. Could of easily have done another OVA. Also what the fuck was with the giant dick robot? That was completely out of place. Not to mention they traded in the Jazzy Yuji Ohno music for some funkrock garbage. Lupin is know for having some of the greatest OST's of all time but this particular one had 1 song everyone remembers and it wasn't even good, or at least I personally don't think it fits Lupin. I guess it's decent when you don't think about it as the theme for a Lupin movie. youtu.be/9_XrUmD8Yhs I mean the guy sounds like Jack Black in Tenacious D. I would of preferred they go the more classical approach if they wanted to do something different like they did in the Fujiko Series. youtu.be/j8IYmYreGWQ
with all my criticism, I really do enjoy it a lot, but I do think people overrate it.
Michael Nguyen
...
Luke Gomez
bump
Dominic Davis
The movie looks so fucking good, wish I could see it. Sadly it'll probably take an eternity to for the BDs to come out and get subbed.
Noah Wright
the BD will be out literall a month after its in theaters in japan. they said march.
Gavin Long
although if you are waiting for a region A release, you're gonna have to wait a year or so. That's what discotek usually does. They did an amazing job with Gravestone.
Nolan Butler
sounds good glad we're getting a bd so soon. I'll definitely have to buy it when discotek releases
Christopher Nelson
because the last one was fantastic, and this one looks just as good with the same staff
Henry Evans
you think they'll do something else since its the 50th anniversary of Lupin this year? It cant just be this movie.
Carter Wood
Season 2 of blue jacket
Charles Smith
That would be nice.
Hudson Baker
im doubting that. The ratings didnt do well (mostly because they barely marketed it).. plus if that were the case, they would of announced a season 2 months ago.
William Morgan
is Koike doing a trilogy?
Justin Cox
waiting for my Red Jacket set to come in the mail. Feels like christmas.
Gonna put the Goemon Blu Ray next to my Gravestone one when that finally comes out.
Matthew Williams
what's the best way to start watching lupin? i only watched cagliostro and i liked it
Jeremiah Brooks
this is what you need to do.
Liam Mitchell
Imaishi Lupin TV anime.
Adam Smith
No, this is stupid. Why would you recommend someone to start from a long series when they first can taste test a short movie?
Xavier King
>long series >1st series is 23 episodes for one, most people who like Lupin aren't faggots. You either like it or you don't. Start from the beginning. If you like it, continue. If you don't like it, fuck off..
Anyone with a sense of taste would tell you to start where it's the most important and arguably where it's at it's best which is the 1st series. If you need to watch a movie to test you're dumbass attention span, then you shouldn't bother at all. It's all great stuff, Plus the user already said he's seen Cagliostro and wishes to continue, might as well start from the beginning like a normal person would do.
Luke Rodriguez
>Imaishi Lupin clearly this would never happen which is great. I can't think of a single anime he's done that wasn't completely horrible.
Grayson Cruz
More like lupin the absurd
Carter Foster
he is a wacky individual
Bentley Barnes
>having so much shit taste My condolences, user.
Grayson Cook
You're clearly baiting. The anime he makes are literally for young teens filled with nothing but typical shitty anime cliches, dumb characters, and extremely weak stories a 7 year old could think of. Even he admits his anime aren't suppose to be anything special. He has potential to perhaps do something cool but always fucks it up and they always end up being shows for stupid people.
Luis Jackson
If i was the owner of that building, i'd leave the elevators like this
Oliver Phillips
Black Jacket series Lupin in the underground world
Juan Cook
I was going to say they already did all the possible spin-off But there is still Zenigata, and i'd watch the shit out of a Zenigata spin-off
Julian Cox
He'd kill a main character within the first half of the series
Bentley Campbell
There won't be a black jacket series. It's going to be a one off like blue jacket was suppose to be. I guess TMS liked blue jacket from Gravestone and decided to go with it for Part 4. We probably won't see Black Jacket after the film comes out. Even Koike doesn't seem that committed since it seems like he won't even wear a jacket for most of the film going by most of the pictures and footage we seen.
Jayden Miller
>Koike Goemon movie
sign me the FUCK up desu senpai
Kayden Lopez
If he does do a third one it will most likely just be Lupin's movie. A Zenigata spinoff would be shit since Koike's version of Zenigata is not fun. He's too serious and is missing the charm that made the character so great. Plus Zenigata is already getting his own live action series.
It's finally time to see a Koike Movie where the main focus is Lupin.
Kevin Russell
The white jacket example would have been more appropriate Oh well, we wont know until the next series, if they'll ever make one
Zachary Ortiz
How are you just now hearing about this. White Jacket would of been much better than dull old black jacket.
Mason Roberts
>his own live action series.
i've heard, but live action Lupin stuff are terrible, it just doesnt work
Lincoln Flores
Every anime live action adaption is bad.
Andrew Gonzalez
White jacket is doomed to be a one-off in series and movies But i agree
Jordan Price
>if they ever make one This is Lupin we're talking about. There will be more series long after you're dead.
Ethan Watson
Dunno about that, Thermae Romae was pretty good
Owen Price
Death Note was okay
Carson Morgan
Somehow no. Haven't been keeping up on Lupin stuff for a while...still gotta catch up on Fujiko, Jigen's Gravestone and blue jacket. Any tips?
Adrian Green
Because it's a Goemon episode
Jacob Kelly
Tips on what? You just answered yourself. Catch up.
Watch Fujiko which is a prequel to Green Jacket Then watch Gravestone which is a sequel to both Fujiko and Green Jacket (some people think it takes place before green jacket but it doesn't) Then watch Blue jacket which takes place much later in the timeline Then watch the new Goemon movie when that eventually comes out. Not sure where it takes place. It has to take place after Gravestone and Mamo though, so it either takes place during or after red jacket.
Gabriel Taylor
Fuma is a Goemon movie and it's considered one of the best films.
Dominic Lopez
Watch TWCFM first (the series is nothing special but still a good story to watch) Then Jigen's Gravestone (fucking great in every way) The Blupin, dont axpect it to be "gritty and dark" like the other two, its more like the original Lupin series. Some episodes are good, others forgettable, whatch the car's episode for a classic Lupin feels episode
Julian Stewart
Fujiko and blue jacket have a bunch of Great episodes. The art for both series blows most anime away in terms of quality.
Joshua Watson
Absolutely, i like both the products
Austin Gutierrez
The background is a reference to when Lupin steals the song that can kill if played? I can't remember the episode
Gavin Cooper
>Fujiko and blue jacket have a bunch of Great episodes >Fujiko
Camden Perry
You wouldn't want a crass and cartoony Lupin anime? I don't think it would ever happen, but I think Imaishi could provide a fun take on the series.
