No the left can't meme is due to the fact that they have this insatiable desire to have a long winded explanation as to why a point is wrong. Smaller bits of text are easier to absorb and remember. Most memes with a hard leftist narrative usually are long winded and no one wants to sit back and read a long winded argument that they disagree with. While right leaning meme are usually quick and to the point. Just look at the Al Frankenstein thing. it was quick and to the point. AL Franken is a monster for groping women. Doesn't matter how much he's done to help people or what ever he does I don't much care about him but that's an Easy pill to swallow and it can make you smile a little when you see a pic of al with neck bolts.
Now the left has 2 main memes just like the right does the "wall of text" or their own easily digested smaller messages. Those messages being alon the lines of making fun of the absurdity of capitalism (humans of late capitalism) or trying to turn a very complex situation into one that's easy to package and regurgitate (no human is illegal) I think it has less to do with age and more to do with keeping the message short and to the point and make sure the message evokes some kind of emotion.
