Sesuji Wo pin

Can we have a thread about this criminally underrated manga especially since we got 24 new translated chapters in less than a wekk. Who are the glorious faggots here that started translating it again after under the dog dropped it cause you are saints.

>this moment will never be animated
feels bad.

>24 chapters

meant to say 4, fucking wish it were 24

i started reading this on a whim few months back and was very pleased with it, i enjoy every chapter

i only started reading it cause it was by the MM guy, was initially disappointed cause it wasnt what i was expecting but it wound up being one of the most consistently enjoyable experiences with manga, its just constantly upbeat and optimistic and when the drama does role around it feels warranted and not overblown.

The only unenjoyable experience with it, was having the scans be dropped like 4 times and constantly seeing the series almost get axed by shounen jump which it still isnt exactly out of the water with it.

Man, I hate one direction but I was listening to their song when reading.
It's fucking great, lastes chapter was so good.
>tfw it's a real dancing move

The one thing that makes me not want an anime is that they'll play one direction in this beautiful ass scene

>the background characters are now the stars of the show

Reading through the most recent chapter now and I'm hyped as hell. Protagonists without any special abilities who manage to work hard and use what little they excel at to get shit done are my favorites.

What happened to Ballrom Yokoso scans?

I still need to catch up but it's really good
Hard to believe it's the same artist as Molester Man and Kurosawa though

The new chapter is translated already.

THAT'S WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL

Oh wow, I was reading this and thought the art looked vaguely familiar. Good for him.

They'd probably just play something that sounds similar instead of going through all the trouble to get the rights to the song.

Its astonishing this wasnt cancelled. I believe had jump not been losing so many long runners this would of been axed before 25 episodes cause its ratings were awful.

It was easy, they were another manga that were doing worse.

Well yeah. If the long runners were still alive, the only survivors would from the last two years would be black clover, and probably neverland.

It's kind of safe for now. Amalgam, Spring Weapon, Demon's Plan and Samon are getting axed before this.

Yeah his art improved tenfold. The dance scenes have alot of detail and movement in them. He survived a year snd a half of shounen jump's axe ready cancellations and thats an accomplishment

>the way you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell
>you don't know, oh oh

Despite how cheesy the lyrics are, they're pretty much spot on for the characters and the conflict in that mini-arc.

>Samon
Hopefully not Samon though.

Samon is so much safer than sesuji. Shounen jump really pushes it and its one of the consolidated series on the line up. I think they have it for gintama's replacement.

Sesuji is sort of safe for now but it could get shittcanned if it dips again

That one's gonna take Gintama's spot when it ends. If it lasts long enough.

Everything's probably at a decreased risk at getting axed for as long as World Trigger stays on hiatus.

Saiki is gonna take Gintama's place and Samon Saiki's place.

I really want both Sesuji and Samon to live to see a natural conclusion.

Well hopefully both get anime soon and around the same time

Actually Sesuji was a success out of the gate, it's rankings only got bad in its second year. It did well enough to get 14 color pages in its first year. Its first ranking was 4th place and it got 2nd lace twice in its first few months. People tend to forget since it was a bottom dweller for a
year.

Sesuji and Samon are on even playing field, neither one ranks that much better or sells much better than the other.

That would be the ideal outcome

Sesuji got 5th last rankings, so hopefully it'll pick back up. Samon should have safety in being a gag manga especially since Gintama's ending.

For comparison's sake, Black Clover got 15 color pages in its first year, so Sesuji getting 14 meant it was very popular when it first started.

>BC anime announcement came a little less than two years after it started running

I'd like to think this will happen to Sesuji too, but making estimations based on the trends of an actual battle shonen seems like a bad idea

To be fair, it probably just slowed down thanks to the tournament. But that's over so maybe it'll pick up again.

Actually, they're ranking the Latin segment now so things probably picked up from there.

Sesuji placed in the top five 12 times ever. 10 times in the first year and only 2 times in its second year which is still ongoing. And those 2 times were just in the last month or two, so yeah, rankings really have been picking up recently. The tournament damn near killed the series but finally it's recovering.

Just the idea of both having anime airing the same season fills me with overwhelming happiness.

wasnt the series consistently sitting dead in the middle for the most since the 2nd year started up, not the most ideal place to be but it would mean its in a safe spot until it dips again.

Still ill take this hopeful little note of it picking up in rankings that things are looking up but we really arent out of the water yet until we get blessed with an anime. all things considered if the manga were to be cancelled in the coming weeks this would be a very strong and satisfying spot to end it

I adore how this series handles its romance, its not in your face about it and it winds up feeling like they are genuinly 2 hard working friends with something growing in the background of evolving into something more. Kind of like why i enjoy the dancing part of it 2 they arent speeding through things to make them gods of dance, right now they are good but still outclasses by most of the supporting cast.

You have to admit the lyrics work really well though

Yeah ill admit that it does kind of work for the scene.

>new chapters of Sesuji and Ballroom

Fuck yeah

I hope the manga ends with them no longer being midgets.

Another thing I liked about the cultural festival chapter is that we got to see them dance without their hair slicked back.

Almost like a cheesy song targeting teens discovering love applies to cheesy teens discovering love.

>under the dog
Underdog Scans was never good, this new team is miles better on top of being faster.

Fitting for a cheesy teen love that is still in its purest phase.

I wonder which pair will end up dancing to one of Taylor Swift's break-up songs first

Nice asses.

No sexualizing the midgets, boy or girl

I think they look better without the formal hairdo, too.

Sure thing sensei

when will these 2 midgets fuck?

So...what's up with Kinryuuin's partner?
She's clearly high off something.

A relative to Agiri maybe?

It wouldn't surprise me, but she's probably a super ditz

I thought the tournament is fine, the real downer was the training arc. It was frankly boring and I'm glad the tournament started. The guy really needs to plan better for the next training arc

As someone who loves pretty much everything Yokota's ever worked on, him getting into WSJ and doing reasonably well with his first big work in terms of popularity (meaning it's in no danger of being axed) makes me happy. I absolutely love this series too and the translation efforts to catch up with what's available means I'm getting a steady stream of new stuff. In a way, it getting dropped for a while by scanlators is a blessing since it means there's a lot there to binge through while still knowing you'll be getting a new chapter fairly quick due to playing catch up.

Doesn't that correspond to the current arc being translated? I guess I can see why (WHERE ARE MY DANCING MIDGETS and such) but it sucks because I'm enjoying this far more than I do other shonen tournament arcs. The Rio drama is great and Sakimoto is probably my favorite character after the two leads (and right above Hirari and Michiru-chan-sensei).

I kind of like how all of the pairs have vibes that can or can't be seen as romantic. Some are pretty explicit like Kashiwa's one-sided crush on Miyadaiku and some can go either way (Rio/Doigaki). I'm going to bet Hirari 100% has a crush on Yamaki too.

Holy shit I was just READING THIS RIGHT NOW HOLY FUCK

Why is this so fucking cute? The boner in my heart is raging erect right now.

2016 was basically summer training and the tournament. Well, it's been picking up pace since they started ranking Ch 71 and above, so maybe something happened then.

This isn't even his final form

Yeah still reading it user, if it undergoes Sup Forums radar just roll with it. The last time wo pin was discussed here there were blagrant trolls from that other current ballroom manga.

>>Seishiji gets an anime
>>Influx of shippers, Ballroom cross-thread posters, shitposters, and Frodos
>>Actual discussion grinds to a crawl

Is this what you're really willing to risk?

What studio could even animate this properly? It's not just ballroom, the Latin dances in this are supposed to be fast, at a high level and there's fucking loads of dancers in a small room. Good luck making that look good.

that's a really good point, dammit user

They probably have to do it like slam dunk or captain tsubasa - basically the other participants vanish and the floor expands inexplicably when the camera's focusing on one player

Maybe production IG or madhouse. But you're right. A good quality version of this can be intensely difficult without skewing perspectives.

Which brings to question, how's ballroom going to work?

>each chapter brings a smile to your face
It's like having the final chapters of his previous series but every week.

Keeping choreography fresh, and be distinct in quality from amateur to other dancers who are good. Fug.

Everyone needs insulin user.

They do Hatsukoi Zombie though (which is nisekoi 2.0 but still)
