How come every time a new chapter comes out, we always go balls deep into some asinine theory that just happens to work out?
When Araki pulls something more simpler, we'll just be disappointed because we kept putting clusterfucks of minor details together into one megaplot that'd blow your mind if you never thought about it.
It's because no one really knows what to expect, so they can expect anything.

this, and part 8 has been unpredictable. i'm sure none of us thought we'd be approaching a short-scale zombie outbreak during Beetle Tendency.
I think most of the convoluted theories that people here come up with (like ones that heavily involve Jesus's corpse and so on) aren't likely. Each JoJo part is primarily meant as its own story over being part of a greater whole (particularly with 4 and 5) and if the climax of the plot requires reading SBR to grasp completely then it'd just be poor writing.

Switching him and Annasui could've actually worked pretty well, come to think of it. VA was extremely fight-based and Annasui's stand (like all of the main character ones in SO) was a fight-stand that went somewhat underutilized, whereas Moody Blues would've been interesting and useful for Jolyne and co to uncover the mysteries in the prison.
He didn't do nothing, but I do remember him doing very little aside from yell orders sometimes.
He was basically Bruno's yes-man.

He was one of the more active and characterized guys outside of fights (compared to Fugo and Giorno who rarely spoke or did much interaction with the others) but didn't get much fight-focus of his own. Seeing stuff like him breaking the rules a little to try and stop Giorno getting himself killed by breaking the rules a lottle by following Bruno into the tower was cool, too.
I sorta wish his issues with Giorno had come to something before he died though, even if it was just begrudging acknowledgement.

I guess his conclusion came after his death though, in the form of Diavolo's face and him being forgiven and escorted sadly but triumphantly to heaven by his partner.

As much as I like Abbacchio, HP's death was a billion times more bullshit than his or even Narancia's was, who'd previously held the title of the least climactic protagonist-death in the series. I didn't even know that she'd died and assumed she'd be making a reappearance for the rest of the D4C fight.
Nut Man would probably have a bigger bang in his death, refer to If he died, he wouldn't do so that fast, his Stand has an A Rank in Development so he'll probably pop some moves out of his ass to make his death worthy.
Diver Down proved very useful in part 6. The most memorable thing was Anasui using it to save Jotaro from a severed jugular.

It was useful, don't get me wrong, but it just wasn't used enough IMO. SO suffered from the same issue VA sometimes had, in that the core-group being as large as it was meant that individual characters didn't get as many fights each.

I dunno, Araki really strikes me as a guy who really values ceremony and respect to his readers wherever possible, I'd find him giving Joshu such a mean-spirited death really shocking unless he intended the disrespect to make readers and characters alike hate the villain as much as they could.
Not even a big Joshufag but I really doubt he'd cut him short like that, especially given all the focus Joshu got with arcs like Shakedown Road and Milagro man.

Is it safe? I've hoped and been let down before, but just maybe it might be okay...
Who else here genuinely appreciates Narancia's character? He was a funny little shit, and seeing him constantly shit on but never letting it get him down added a lot of heart to the group-dynamics. Not to mention the scene where he laughs in Formaggio's face in the middle of being tortured showing him as an absolute badass, and how he was never cruel or dismissive towards Squalo and Tiziano after seeing the sacrifices they made for each other even as he killed them.
And the scenes where he chases after the boat and the one where he's hysterically mourning Abbacchio's death were some of the most emotional in the part, too.
