They try to play it "neutral", playing the devil's advocate, and yet there's no need to. Because it's just a fucking horrible idea. This calls a few things into question: Who gives out the money? Where does it come from? How are companies that provide these goods and services compensated? I agree it will help, probably help more than not, but, before any of this the government needs to change how things are in this country. We can't have people just coming in without limits and taking advantage of programs and benefits which they didn't pay into, when they don't even belong here in the first place, yet we cannot even do this now, we can't get rid of people who don't belong here, we can't even enforce the laws in the books, or instill policies that help our own workforce. I just refuse to believe that we would be able to have UBI when we can't do any of the other important things.
