Which of Miyazaki's works do you want a sequel most from?

Which of Miyazaki's works do you want a sequel most from?

Do you think sequels would take away from the originals?

Pic related is mine. Though NausicaƤ Manga continues beyond the movie, it's not the best part. Still, I like the setting and I'm all up for something new in that world.
Probably a Kushana spin off or a way into the future story with a new character.

Princess Kushana defiantly is a character I want more of.

There is so much more to her and Kurotowa that I want explored. maybe the manga goes more into it idk

It doesn't delve into the past iirc, which would be the most interesting bit, so I guess the manga doesn't.

What happens to Miyazaki's IP when hes gone? do

Yeah. I defenitly want to see more of Kurotowa

Did Ghibli ever made a sequel or a shared universe stuff? I don't recall any, but last movie I saw was Ponyo, so I'm not sure.

Don't believe so.. its a strange dilemma because they create such appealing and convicting words but they are only for a single film which your always desiring more of but at the dame time you can easily be spoiled of if given to much

Mononoke

Your Name, definitely.

This. I want forest lovers story.

Yeah, a continuation of NausicaƤ would make way more sense than anything else.

A cozy sequel of Castle in the Sky

Cagliostro

He should finish animating the Nausicaa manga.

I want to see Selm.

A Nausicaa OVA series that focuses on the parts which aren't explored in the film would be cool, but I think Miyazaki has given up long ago on the idea of revisiting any of his fantasy works. It's all either historical fiction or mythology these days.

Finish Nausicaa or a comfy romance movie of Howl's Moving Castle.

>born to parents
>go out and chop wood with parents
>parents hardly vare about baby and ditch it the first sign of trouble
>wolf raises her - 15 years of eating small insects and critters and sleeping on leaves
>she meets ashitaka

that's pretty much it

Probably Kiki
I'm a sucker for little girls, witches and panties

Lupin movies are coming out all the time, don't get greedy.

Selm is literally Kaworu

I know, that's why they should get Akira Ishida to voice him if they ever do make a second movie.

Kill yourself with a shovel

Don't be rude

I'd rather there be no sequels.

Ghibli was founded on a no sequels rule.

Kiki's delivery service

>Ghibli was founded on a no sequels rule.
Yeah, that's exactly the reason there is a Totoro sequel.
That was sarcasm in case you didn't notice.

See
Also, The Cat Returns is a sequel sharing universe and characters with Whisper of the Heart

I forgot...
also Howl and Earthsea are both based upon books that already have sequels - meaning those could be animated, too. Nevermind Nausicaa covering only the first of six books of the manga.

kiki because it's the only one that doesn't have a super conclusive ending and it's also his best film

It literally was, you can look it up.

>doesn't have a super conclusive ending
This. Actually, if you write "The begining" instead of "The end", the movie gets better.
Not the only one that has a similar ending. Just the most noticeably so.

Yeah, that's why there are TWO Ghibli movies with sequels (I was wrong thinking there was only one)

Policies change, doesn't mean they were never there.

What's the point, then, of mentioning a no-longer existing policy as if it was still relevant?

I'd love to see a complete Nausicaa

Im also interested to see how people will
react to Nausicaa killing literally hundreds of unborn babies

Also, I understand there is more context but thats essentially what happens

This, honestly the manga derserves a trilogy of 1.5 hour films

Time skip of Kiki or Ponyo.

Maybe something from Porco Rosso, but I really don't know how that would work. Probably a prequel during WW1 and how he got turned into a pig.

Porco Rosso, I want more planes and pirates.

Sequel to Castle Cagliostro

Not Ghibli though

I dont want sequels to any of his movies. But I would kill for additional works set in the same universe as Nausicaa, castle in the sky, Howls moving castle, or Future boy conan.

Something about a combination of fantasy, airships, and his style just checks all the right boxes EVERY TIME.
