Did Yamada get BTFO?

Did Yamada get BTFO?

To be quite honest, the source material is very juvenile in a lot of ways. Your Name is at least fresh and has a very good plot twist, and Kono Sekai is more mature and artsy.

Japan simply can't face bullying.

Your Rope is the most generic and accessible, and In This Corner is a good victim circlejerk.

Koe no Katachi barely touches upon real bullying issues. 3gatsu did bullying 10 times better and it's one of the most popular manga in Japan, so they can in fact face bullying, when done right.

Yes, the anime adaptation by Shaft proves your point.

What does that have to do with anything? I never once mentioned the adaptation retard, it's pretty bad I agree, but the source material is great.

>highest grossing anime film of KyoAni
>BTFO

>Your Rope

Stop trying to make "Your Rope" a thing. It's never going to be a thing.

I wouldn't use the sales argument if I were you. In this Corner of the World has been getting a major boost after winning so many awards, in just the last two weeks it managed to gross 500m, bumping it to 1.6bil, It may even surpass Koe no Katachi in a couple of months if it keeps this momentum.

Who?

but KnK still will be highest grossing anime film of KyoAni.

>It may even surpass

So it hasn't and even if it does Koe no Katachi is still the highest grossing movie from Kyoani (higher than Haruhi, K-On, and others)?

Money is temporary, award is forever.

Being the highest grossing KyoAnus film is like being the smartest kid with down syndrome.

>being the smartest kid with down syndrome.
Like you are?

How about "Your Tits"?

Highest Kyoani film pretty much means higher than 95% of all other late night anime studios.

>awards
>having any relevance to anything
user...

It's Keit-ai tho.

>In This Corner is a good victim circlejerk
t. triggered burger when faced with the disgusting shit his country did

The awards Kono Sekai received boosted ticket sales, now it wouldn't be surprising if it makes over 3 billion in its lifespan, KnK made 2.3 billion by the way.

It's Shochiku's fault

>Koe no Katachi barely touches upon real bullying issues.
Koe no Katachi isn't also really about bullying in a sense. The bullying is limited mainly to the very beginning and is just an excuse for character drama rather than a deep examination of bullying.

Also, what exactly does the film cover up to? If it goes to the end, hopefully it's a better ending than what the manga had.

...

I watched in Nipland. Honestly, this shit was just so-so. Nothing special.

While the acting was good, the story and the characters were highly irrational that it breaks the immersion.

Also a lot of the side characters have no importance at all.

>a niche in-house studio against highly marketed productions
If anything KnK's success is amazing.

Kono Sekai wasn't highly marketed, it was a crowdfunded movie no one had any faith in, started with less than 100 screenings, its success is all thanks to the quality of the movie. KnK actually had decent marketing.

Now you kyoanifags are back to using logic, but where was that confidence when you said 'KnK is an oscarbait'?

You realize the government was literally showing Koe no Katachi in schools, right? It was pretty well marketed.

That entire post was clearly bait you newfag retard. How's VEG even going to be eligible for an oscar when it's going to be a TV series? Use your brain moron.

Do you always fall for false flagging?

>Koe no Katachi isn't also really about bullying in a sense.
>The bullying is limited mainly to the very beginning and is just an excuse for character drama rather than a deep examination of bullying.

nigger you fucking what?, the story is about a little girl that got so much bullying that she actually wanted to kill herself, of fucking course it is a story about bullying and its effects

>backpedalling

Cry more idiot. Lurk some more next time.

You don't know what that word means.

>a war film depicting the Japs as innocent victims doing well

Gee, I'm not surprised. Clearly the Japs deserve more than just two nukes.

I don't see any store that accepts accolades as payment.

I don't see any anime producers who are willing to shell out for a second season without any real profit on the first.

All an award means is that normalfags with no taste think something is good.

I'd say it's more about guilt and forgiveness. Iirc she wasn't bullied anymore when she tried to kill herself. It was more because of extremely low self-esteem, in which the bullying played a big part of course, but it still wasn't the main focus of the story.

It's still a successful movie, just not the most successful in the year of its release. Do you think it's some kind of special masterpiece that deserves more than what it received?

I can agree with that. The majority of the bullying in KnK was isolated to the elementary school years. The rest of the manga was about overcoming the past and moving on.

How long will Sup Forumstards force this meme?

Keep crying, I love it.

I only like and watch anime productions that make at least 100 million dollar profits.
Else, it's not worth my time.

So you don't watch anime.

I heard this Your Name thingy made over 331 million dollars in the box office. That means that I'm going to watch and like it when the opportunity to watch it someday presents itself.

I read the series as it was coming out and have the tanks so I'm pretty well aware of what the story is about. It's less about "bullying is bad" and more about "moving on from your past". Bullying is a plot device for that.

Also why I hate the ending so much. This was my favorite series while it was being published and the ending is so bad that it just about ruins the entire series because it all builds up to a complete wet fart.
