Sup Forumsorts anime

We have Slam Dunk, PoT and Captain Tsubasa already, but are there any anime series about other sports, like rugby, baseball or handegg?

There's a rugby one airing right now.

For baseball we had Star of the Giants a few years ago.

Haikyuu for volleyball I guess. A friend keeps trying to get me to watch it but it didn't even pass the 3 episode test for me.

I just don't care for the protagonist at all.

You already know PoT, but Baby Steps is an amazing series. I also remeber Eyeshield 21, which is about american football, being pretty good. I never watched it but Giant Killing seems like a series about soccer that differs a bit from the usual formula.

YowaPeda is manga about cute boys doing cute bicycle things

Rookies, baseball manga that got a live action show. I liked it.

There was a remake?

PoT was pure fujobait. It became shitty quickly.

Baby Steps is far superior BUT had some serious narrative issues and the art isn't impressing at all

Tsubasa is for entry level.

Haikyuu has a nice vibe going on but as said Hinata isn't far from your generic shonen MC

Surprisingly baseball manga has a lot to offer

and.... FUCKING EYESHIELD 21
SLAM DUNK'S SPIRITUAL SUCCESSOR.

Major is a good baseball anime
muh gyroball

baseball: a shitload
divegrass: a shitload
volleyball: haikyuu
basketball: Real, kuroko no magical ninja basket, that loli basket series
table tennis: ping pong, takyuu musume
handegg: eyeshield 21
handball: Hand's (well, it's just a one shot)
rugby: all-out (it's shit)
cycling: yowamushi pedal, Minami Kamakura Koukou Joshi Jitensha-Bu, Long Riders
gay swimming: Free
ice skating: ginban kaleidoscope
gay ice skating: Yuri on ice
gymnastic: kaleido star
boxing: hajime no ippo

well, fuck it, just search yourself in this list of 300 series:

Yeah, but only like 10 anons are watching it.

For good reason.

Ashita no Joe, though it's about boxing.

motherfucking Keijo!!!!!!!!

I always heard about how good eyeshield 21 and that only makes me remember how shitty this place is.

Also no one mentioned Ping Pong, for fucking shame you moe faggot s.

But 3626 did.

handball

>I think the manga is better
I never realized how toned down the anime was until the recent episode
but then, the anime also adds in some things
>which makes you feel sorry for that asshole-brother
I am divided

kabaddi

golf

>kabaddi
so it's like- team-wrestling?

Kabaddi? Seriously?

Saki
Ping pong girls
Tank girls
Can't wait for the two football girls manga to get animated

Why not both?
I only hope that manga will still be scanlated after anime ends, but it's unlikely considering it's so unpopular.

Racing - Mach Gogo
Baseball - Star of the Giants, Apache Yakyuugun, Samurai giants, Dokaben
Amateur wrestling - Animal 1
Judo - Kurenai Sanshirou, Inakappe Taishou, Judo Sanka
Professional Wrestling - Tiger Mask
Volleyball - Attack No 1, Munchen e no Michi
Boxing - Tomorrow's Joe
Association football - Akakichi no Eleven
Kickboxing - Kick no Oni
Karate - Karate Baka Ichidai
Tennis - Aim for the Ace

more like a very aggressive game of "you're it"

motorcycle race

It's less about solely Hinata and more about the dynamics of Hinata and the rest of Karasuno.

>not understanding what moe means

Love Live is the essential Sup Forums anime.

Are there any sports series with girls that isn't lolibait or moeshit?

Attacker You!
I remember watching this one ages ago

baseball: One Outs

Hey guys, got a couple of questions. How are Adachi's baseball series?
And how's ace wo narae compared to PoT?

I'm watching Allout! and enjoying it, I don't get all the bad rap

There's a dodgeball series called Honoo no Toukyuuji Dojji Danpei

different strokes for different folks, I guess
you either like it or don't

Diamond No Ace is the only good one

Ashita no Joe is a classic, worth a read whether you like boxing or not.

One Outs is technically about baseball but it's really more Akagi playing baseball than anything else.

To be fair, "Akagi Playing Baseball" is a winning concept on its own. Doesn't need much else.

Hajime no Ippo for boxing

Major, One Outs, and to lesser extents Ookiku Furikabutte, Cross Game (more slice of life than Baseball), and Diamond no Ace. Throw in Rookies for manga. There's a ton of them.

Soccer: Giant Killing I guess?

MMA: Grappler Baki (it's superhuman stuff, but S2 in particular is MMA heavy in a good way.

Tennis: Baby Steps

Keijo: Keijo

Judo: Yawara

There's plenty more but I'm not thinking of them atm. Ippo is actually my favorite anime and manga (though S3 as an adaption drops the ball a bit).

and it's amazing

Eyeshield is a lot more like Kuroko no basket than Slam Dunk, which looks a lot more like Haikyuu, at least from what I have seen of the latter whitout having read it

Suzuka if you want a track & field series.

Hey, fuck you, buddy.

Big Windup! is great too.
