Do you just leech 1080p anime torrents and post Generals on Sup Forums, or have you actually contributed to the anime scene?

Have you bought any DVDs or merchandise? Explain here.

I shitpost on the internet, and that is enough.

i bought some fumos once, does that count??

> buying shit
Hell fucking naw
Now back to >>> /r/eddit

If only they were not a bad resized.

> post Generals on Sup Forums
Ironic. Stop reposting this shit.

I contribute cute smug girl reaction faces and pictures of cute girls pointing up and to the right to Sup Forums.

>Anime figures
Except they're all Miku/Luka, so not really even anime.

Also I draw animes really badly.

I've translated some small stuff, planning to do a lot more in the future.

I'm a buyfag

I tell people why the things they like are bad, preventing complacency

I don't think I ever contributed to the anime industry, but I have hundreds of manga.
Kiss yourself.

I bought both seasons of NNB on Japanese Blu-ray and uploaded the BDMV.

Figs, Tanks, and Gunpla.

I also typeset sometimes.

merchandise, subs for a few obscure and underrated shows

I buy manga. I used to buy DVDs when there actually still were DVDs coming out here (and when DVD quality still was the standard).

If you count making stitches and transparencies contributing to the anime community then nothing.

I've made and contributed to a lot of femdom threads.

Those count as long as you aren't one of those faggots who put a watermark on it.

I bring top tier bantz to Sup Forums

It's kinda cute.

I bought some manga, LNs, CDs, and merchandise.

I make cute webms/gifs and transparent backgrounds for reaction images.

>one of those faggots who put a watermark on it.
Wait what? Why would anyone do that?

Because they're faggots trying to claim credit for the 5 minutes they spent in MSPaint editing screencaps together. Creating stitches is great, but it's on the low spectrum of "contributing."

It's still way better than nothing, though.

I imported Megumeme's books. Also I bought the FMA US manga releases and a few other volumes of stuff.

I used to be 100% in the pirate life but if it's something I really like I try to support it. If no one buys the good stuff then only idolshit and moeshit gets made because those fans actually buy stuff.

This. I don't even seed.

Are you fucking retarded?

Me too.

I delete torrents right after they finish downloading. Gotta save me that widthband.

...

I timed an episode or two. I've been typesetting manga for a while though.

I told user to kill himself for being human once.

That's pretty much why there are so many idol shows now. Little girls buy the merchandise because it's cute, and grown men buy the merchandise because

um

>Have you bought any DVDs or merchandise?
Seriously, though.

You really have to be 18 to post on Sup Forums.

I make stitches and webms, and I buy some manga series.

I translated a few interviews, I guess?

I contributed as much for the anime community as I have for the video game community.

That is to say nothing.

I helped translate a bit of Violated Heroine, as well as provided a dirty translation of some pixiv pictures

I have a Crunchyroll® Premium Account.

I spammed cirno posts until /jp/ became a thing. You're welcome.

Wouldn't it be Crunchyroll, Inc.

I don't think they use the ®

I am from the whitest cunt on Earth, who doesn't get too many anime releases, but as today, I bought this DVDs:

*A Robotech boxset (The classic series + The Shadow Chronicles + Love Live Alive)
*Tekkonkinkreet (called in my cunt "En busca de la Ciudad Tesoro")
*Avengers Confidential
*Iron Man: Rise of Technovore
*Spirited Away
*Ponyo
*The Wind Rises
*Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
*Detective Conan: The Last Wizard Of The Century
*Galaxy Express 999 (1979)
*Musashi: The Dream of the Last Samurai
*Space Adventure Cobra: The Movie
*The Castle of Cagliostro
*Blood-C: The Last Dark
*The Princess and the Pilot
*Ghost in the Shell 2
*Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods
*My Neighbor Totoro
*Porco Rosso
*Princess Mononoke
*Space Captain Harlock (2013)
*The Legend of the Millennium Dragon

I can't wait to SBP to release Kingsglaive.

Lol, fucked up the tripcode. It's been ages.

Did you make this thread:

Seeded a few TB.

I download off nyaa.

>I was there for that thread
>mfw that 4-leaf clover is now used for Sup Forums pass users

I'm a buyfag that lives in Japan and translates stuff. Being part of the community has made me realize that I hate most non-japs in the community. You're all shit eating retards.

No, actually. It's ages since I've last posted anything on any of the boards, and I mostly just lurk to see if there are any new seasons of moecrap that I should pick up. Hell, I only have like 6 Cirno pics on this laptop.

>only 6 pics
>not 9 pics

I've translated and typeset a few manga series before.
It got old.

I wouldn't contribute anything to the "anime community" but i would contribute to the anime industry.

Well technically all non-japs are shit eating retards so that's redundant. Still Japan is far from perfect.

Sub for my fellow pleb country man who can't understand Japanese

>Worst part is they don't even understand eng

I'm talking strictly about the anime community. Outside of a few close friends, I genuinely hate the non-jap community.

I give others my insight on what to watch/read and what to avoid. In this I hope to culture a decent enough taste that will spread amongst the masses. If I can convince someone to try an anime or manga then they may do the same to others.

So yes in other words I mostly just post in Sup Forums on occasion and give my friends recommendations while I acquire my media through less legal means.

I buy DVDs because I hate watching things on PC

I bought the $26 DVD set for Ergo Proxy because I had a $25 gift card that I won in a programming contest
I shamefully support my favorite vidya devs more than I support my favorite animu studios despite the latter getting much more attention as of late :/

I draw shitty things and make reaction images.

I could probably do more if I tried.

I'm done with all that. MLP was my first and last internet fandom Before you say anything, no, I'm not a clopper.

i post pictures of smug anime girls online sometimes

Took some old subtitles for a classic World Masterpiece Theatre show and poorly timed them to a 720p BD release that was new at the time and then shared them.

That is about it really.

Made a seiyuu website, wallpaper site, and buyfag like crazy.

i imported Macross Delta BDs

What do you hate about it? Not saying you shouldn't and that I don't just wondered what it was from your particular perspective.

I see a fair bit of ignorance, obscene reasoning/logic and a sense of entitlement as some of the most repulsive common features.

>or have you actually contributed to the anime scene?

I only buy North American anime and manga releases so no not really.

>anime scene
>scene

Anime is a multi-million dollar industry, not a """scene""". One basement dweller buying a few Blurays isn't going to do shit.

I kept enough interest of koharu no hibi in Sup Forums(posting the chapters and discussing) until i finally found someone to translate them

CR is also a brand/product. That product is trademarked. The corporation's name is irrelevant.
That said I believe "Crunchyroll" is ™, not ®

ts

First off, try interacting with them. They have no social tact and don't understand how to hide their powerlevel. They're actually really weird and annoying to hang out with. Most of them have shit taste. If you talk to a Western anime fan, chances are they like shit like RE: Zero and think TTGL was the greatest mech show off all time. Japanese yurifags just like cute girls doing cute things, non Japanese yurifags are militant nutjobs who think everything needs to be about gay little girls and are literally incapable of not shoving their fetish into everything. Japanese fujo just like shipping dudes, and oddly enough are really chill. Western Fujo are tumblr landwhales who are responsible for shit like the Reigen threads when MP was airing. We also have people who love crap like One Piece, whereas in Japan I've never met anyone who reads manga who actually likes it. It's basically normalfag bait for people who don't actually read manga here. Then there's the translation community; a bunch of ESLfags with literally no standards who think a stilted 1:1 translation is accurate, with absolutely no standards, or commie tier meme subs made under the guise of "natural and readable English". Top it all off with the fact that tons of non Japanese anime fans are young SJW type liberals, and it's a wonder that I can bring myself to contribute anything to the community at all.

Oh and as far as ignorance goes, I didn't even touch on the whole "Purport information that's completely false because someone said it was in an interview or from a mistranslated tweet." People get way too excited about being "in the know" and calling others secondaries, when in reality they're wrong most of the time about the things they say.

Oh right, those kinds of people with specific autisms. I don't really see that much of that somehow, maybe never really exposing myself to anime discussing outside of Sup Forums besides browsing 2ch threads for shows I am following and reading Japanese twitter helps. Don't know anybody who watches anime in real life either.

I see this happen quite a lot though, not "mistranslations" as such (mistakes) but people purposefully misrepresenting what various people have said in order to further some view or agenda they have that they are trying to push. Basically to bait for responses but then you get a whole lot of people that genuinely believe that and go on to parrot it if you spam it long enough.

I've inserted false information like this into a fandom before to test it by claiming to have translated something and the source I gave was completely unrelated to the claim besides being about the same anime and having a picture of it there yet I still saw people repeating it weeks on. If you just say "Japanese person (especially if someone people like to meme about) said X" enough times people will start repeating it. It is quite shocking that if something is convenient for people to believe and fits with their preconceived notions they will take such statements as truth without being able to verify it themselves at all and start repeating it henceforth.

I have encoded a few shows and Sup Forums loved it so yeah.

>They have no social tact and don't understand how to hide their powerlevel
Well have you ever considered the fact that the ones who are good at hiding their power level, chances are you're never gonna talk to them?

I have a couple close friends into it, and they're great. I also go to events like comiket since I live in Tokyo, and holy shit the western fans are weird.

And it looks like you know exactly what I mean with the second point. Perfect. For the record, that ones always ESLfags in LNshit threads, or any manga where people dump Korean raws, because staring at pictures and getting spoilers is more fun than just reading the damn manga story.

Nah, you'd see them at conventions and whatnot.

Occasionally buy figs, manga and gunpla.

Also translate random pages that get posted as I see fit.

Again, you're saying that you're meeting a bunch of people who make it very obvious that they're into anime and it's annoying, as it will be with any fanatic of a fandom

Meanwhile you're saying that people who are tactful about hiding their power level are going to be attending anime conventions

Do you think before you type stuff?

care to explain why, user?

I've contributed as much as I think the industry is worth

i.e. $0

Dropped ~9000Y on my first and only Comiket this winter.

>anime community
you mean forums?

>MAGA hat
Cringe.

I've created several webms which have garnered hundreds of reposts does that count?

I bought over a hundred manga. I considered to buy some shows but now I'm literally broke so I'm not gonna buy anything.

I retweeted the PSG cafe announcement.

I'm a fansubber and sometimes translate scripts for scanlations or VN fan projects. Ironically the most well-known thing I've ever been involved with was the Hollow Ataraxia patch and all my work on that was submitted anonymously.

Are you a fucking idiot? If I'm at a convention full of Japanese people with some westerns mixed in, and I notice that most of the Japanese people are polite with basic social skills, but most of the westerns are borderline autistic, then what the hell does you post have to do with anything? Did you not actually understand what I said? Is English not your first language?

I bully newfags on IRC.

bought some Light novels, manga, and figures... that's about it i suppose. Hell maybe I'll buy some blu-rays just because.

You're exaggerating but yeah, I know how you feel. The number of interesting people with working brains who are capable of acting socially acceptably in public and also happen to like anime/manga/games/etc. is dwarfed by the masses of underaged Asperger's cases, attention whores, hydrophobes, and other misfits that seem to get drawn to anime in Western countries. Even the weirder Japanese fans I've met are much more pleasant well-behaved than the average con attendee.

If it wasn't for the few cool people I know who are into typesetting or lettering and ask me to work on things, I'd avoid it all together.

do japs still hate us for pirating anime?
sankakucomplex.com/2010/08/12/2ch-vs-sankaku-complex-foreign-otaku-greedy-thieves/
i remember this was a pretty hot topic on Sup Forums back when it happened.

I translated a loli doujinshi some time ago.

It had anal:3

Bought manga directly from red button country, and licensed BD from Uncle Sam's
Which reminds me, help me pick my next purchase, since I would only be able to afford one this month:

Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure DVD
009-1
Area-88

I used to watch a ton of anime on Cartoon Network, which resulted in more anime getting licensed.

>sankakucomplex

I watched "Kimi no Na Wa" and "The Boy and The Beast" on cinema. That's it I guess.

>sankakucomplex

I'm a buyfag so yeah
I bought shit with proxy directly from studio websites to support them

Bought figures and artbooks too. It might not be much but it's something.

literally no other site talked about this besides sankakucomplex and Sup Forums and all of the old Sup Forums archives are dead now.
