Explain yourselves, Sup Forums

I got my copy of RAtMW a few days ago, and I started by reading the Introduction. And I have one question: Why the fuck do you like this guy? He was heavily critical of both Fascism and National Socialism, as he viewed them as not "transcendent" enough. I'm just confused anons. Just keep reading?

as long as you hate the jews you're fine

just gas the kikes and stop caring about Evola. Too "esoteric" guy for my taste

Then where the fuck do I learn about traditionalism?

The Nazi's didn't even like him. He wanted to implement an Hindu-style caste system in Europe. The Nazi's believed that all of his intellectualism was just a ploy to re-establish the old aristocracy, who Hitler fucking hated. The NSADP understood the need for social hierarchy, but as working class and middle-class veterans, they also knew that to simply give people power on the virtue of entitlement and blood - and not merit - was the source of Europe's problems over the past couple hundred years. Fascism/National Socialism was an attempt to reconcile those two social needs.

drop the book and read his earlier stuff, from what I've been told here, you won't be able to understand Revolt until you've read his previous works

In the original Swahili

anyone have or can suggest a good "intro to evola" timeline?

something similar to pic related

Evola is good for Traditionalism, so is Guenon, so is that Russian guy what's his name?? Ah yes Aleksander Dugin.
However the problem with most of them is that they become too "esoteric" at times, thus reminding Masons, Kabbalists and scum like that. My humble opinion only.

Here's a 5 hour podcast on Evola's "Revolt Against the Modern World".

spreaker.com/user/kulturkampf/kulturkampf-episode-56-revolt-against-th

It's full of spirituality and caste nonsense. I'm glad I didn't waste time reading it.

Read them and make up your mind, they are good "thinkers", just don't get dragged into the esoteric mambo jumbo, it's really a deep rabbit hole

I've read Ride the Tiger, which is a hard read if you don't have a background in philosophy. I'm doing a phd in it, so I had no problems, but I wouldn't recommend it to non-philo friends. I haven't read RAtMW.

In RtT, he basically studies the major philosophical movements of the 19th and 20th Centuries and how they lead to a world in which everything is determined in terms of the satisfaction of material rather than spiritual ends, including liberalism, existentialism, etc. He has a good grasp of philosophy, but having read just this work, I wouldn't say it's particularly exceptional.

If you're interested in traditionalist somewhat philosophical figures, read Ernst Jünger's novels.

metaphysics of war.. will explain traditionalism etc etc to a T

Yeah, he thought fascists and Nazis were liberal pussies. Fascism and natsoc allowed people from the middle class to attain power. Mussolini and Hitler were elected, basically...ish... evola wanted strict aristocracy of the spirit. Also, he wasn't as attached to biological race. I know people here try to refute it, but he would hold an Indian Raja higher than a working class Italian, for example.

Hah - a podcast on Ernst Junger's 'Storm of Steel'

spreaker.com/user/kulturkampf/kulturkampf-episode-55-storm-of-steel

I just picked up Man Among The Ruins at a fucking garage sale. Is it worth a read?

>Evola thought biological racism was wrong guys!!!

Yeah

Cool. Critique of Culture is next up on my reading list.

>Fascism and National Socialism are two different things!!!!
Just seeing how it was written, clearly a strasserist new age homo wrote that, still a good book list regardless.

Quick rundown?

NatSoc and Fascism are not Traditional ideologies, yes the do have components about themselves that stem from Tradition, but watered down. This is why Evola shit on them, they weren't good enough. His world view demanded nothing-less than Republican Roman Caste system, especially emphasizing the spiritual necessity of the Patrician to rule, not only the Earthly government. Modernism lacks the body, that the perennial and Traditional way has. That empty ache you feeling inside is what lacks in modernism.

noted. not that id know, ive just begun to scratch the surface of part 1

>Roman caste
Evola was actually very heavily into Hindu culture

why?

So was Schopenhauer. Make fun of poos all we want, Hinduism is still some deep shit nonetheless.

Where's part 2?

Read the thread, you dumb whore.

Tbh Hinduism is an Aryan Religion that Poos perverted

up here

does that explain the aesthetic?

>Sup Forums is one person
This is your problem.

Yeah Savitri Devi wrote some good books on the subject like "Lighting and the Sun" plus many other of her books but LatS is the first one to read, she's pretty good at explaining a lot of shit like Aryans in Persia with Zoroastrianism etc. I would heavily recommend her work.

I think they're alluding to the fact that he places his concept of "spiritual racism" higher than biological racism.

Also Myth of the 20th Century by Alfred Rosenberg is a good tie in as well to subject of the Aryan people and their fall etc.

There was a huge wave of European philosophers who became interested in Hinduism and Buddhism in the 20s and 30s. Some of it was due to better translations of eastern texts that became widely available in Europe. In addition, it was a backlash to materialism that dominated early 20th c philosophy and literature.

Nah I'm talking about the faggots who claim he didn't believe in race at all etc. Just total fedora tier homos.

I'm going to need a fucking library for all these books

do you have a reading list for me?

>all this crap fucking advice by faggots that never read the book
Read the book OP, and you will understand what the essence of "Right" is.

But let's be real, you're already bored at introduction. You won't last through the rest.

yeah a nice bookshelf when i finally move our is a necessity

>Tbh Hinduism is an Aryan Religion that Poos perverted

The central test of orthodoxy in Hinduism is whether it adheres to Vedas or not. All that which is accepted as orthodox is treated as such because justification can be found for it in the Vedas. With some things this is only true with regards to the underlying principals because with such a long history it's been subject to many cultural changes. In the areas where it counts though it has remained mostly the same. It is not really that distorted and most other religions have undergone similar cultural changes over time.

Well it's good to have a library, also don't waste your money on "Jack Donovan" though some homos here will recommend him, he's a literal homosexual that spoke of things like "fucking a man like a woman!" "alpha homos" "homophobia is Jewish!" Don't waste your money m8.

You are not supposed to read Evola like the gospel. Just let him activate some almonds here and there.

I thought he shit on them because they ultimately lost. I mean, he was heavily involved with the Mussolini regime and played a role in bridging the gap between them and Nazi Germany IIRC

Here

anything that can't make its point without some stupid picture of a landwhale in a fedora isn't worth shit.

>getting butthurt by fedora memes
that should say something about you if you get mad by that desu senpai

How are the savitri devi books? worth reading?

...

I love evola. Guenon and junger are also must reads. Mindless nazi fascist larpers are brainlets. Reading this stuff is essential for perspective.

Pretty good imo but she is really esoteric, which I like myself but books like defiance are good historical accounts when the allies put here in prison for spreading NS propaganda in post war Germany

>no Guenon

Evola is basically Guenon's edgy little brother.

>tfw poorfag

most of his books are available as free PDFs online that can be downloaded

archive.org/details/reneguenon

starting with "intro to the hindu doctrines" is a must

>hate reading
>like listening to books
>can't find any decent audio versions of Evola

I have great voice; should I record audio for Ride the Tiger myself? I feel like that might be a neat project.

Thanks famalam

Do it

How does it compare to Serrano? I've only read the ultimate avatar

They both tie into each other desu, Savtri Devi goes into more detail though and is more clear imo. Both are great.

heres the evola guide boyos but unfortunately i dont have the book mega collection

vocaroo something really quick, im curious to hear.

I don't currently have access to a mic; my plan was to use the recording studio at the radio station that I DJ for.

you on some shitty laptop or mobile? doesnt need to be good quality noise to get a sense of the voice

That's a good idea, that would have professional audio rather than some shitty YouTube reading with trash audio

Can't get it from my mobile.
I will say that my voice is deeper but with a "rad" sound to it. This might clash with the Evola vibe, but I figure it's better than Microsoft Sam.

you know, you should think about this. Ive wanted audio books for books im interested in because im a student so i dont have a car and use public transit for 3 hours a day. i would enjoy an audio book of these things. goodluck

thanks so much for this, i find guenon much easier to read

Bump before this gets slid off the board

JUST RIDE THE TIGER, B URSELF

BRAINLETS WONT GET IT

There are some irritating things about Evola. IIRC in a book he was talking about how someone can be "spiritually transformed" or something like that by whipping girls.

Can someone provide me with a link to Heathen Imperialism? Amazon doesn't have it and I can't find a pdf

...

For our age yes, we probably are living in the last leg of our civilisation

That's the most basic red pill of all

Is Evola even worth reading? Seems kind of faggy desu I'm reading mediations by Marcus Aurelius right now definitely one of the best reads I've had in a while.

Most people (on the left who demonize him and on the right who praise him) don't understand that his Traditionalism. He viewed national socialism and fascism as the only practical alternative to materialistic Americanism/capitalism and communism that retained a spiritual/transcendental element. Fascism was for Evola not an end in itself, which is why he called himself a super fascist (not "really fascist" but BEYOND fascism)

>Everyone who is conservative must be a fascist or national socialist.

You need to lurk more.

I like this image, but I think you can skip burke, and read joseph de maistre in priority, he's a reference.

Stormfront is still down?

How do you live with yourself being this far esoterically gone?

>Hinduism is an Aryan Religion

This must be the white equivalent of "we wuz kangz n shiet"

Yes Evola is worth reading, one just has to not treat everything he says as divine words of a superman. If you like Marcus Aurelius you should go for Greek philosophy definitely.

>evola wasn't a facist
Well it is the aryan religion but not in the way stormfront understands

Nice you have the same Mein Kampf I do! Did you get the one that was for $14.88?

>Then where the fuck do I learn about traditionalism?
You don't, it's all garbage for occultist /x/-fags and particularly autistic larpers. Traditionalism is a meme. Historical nazis and fascists were revolutionaries, not traditionalists. Be a man and become NatSoc.

>Historical nazis and fascists were revolutionaries
True... Just read the Turner Diaries and prepare yourself ;-)

I'm about 2/3rds through RAtMW.

Overall, I find it interesting.

He says a lot, and the language (in English) sometimes sounds like a BS artist or a crystal energy type guy. It's not a scientific paper and he says so plainly.

He offers lots of references to different traditional histories and mythologies, and uses words and places and ideas I've heard of, but which I don't know enough about to know if he's full of it or not.

The basic stuff I've absorbed so far is that the modern world he is revolting against isn't crap like electricity, but has said that the modern world is the polar opposite of the best world, that used to exist.

The qualities and associations of the best world, the traditional world... are divine authority... hierarchy... maleness... heroism

and their opposites are federated authority, a separation of divinity from the ruler.. egalitarianism...

The part I am reading about right now is contrasting socieites where the religious tradition and understand focuses on self-actualized God(s) who are male.. and who create everything, including life.... vs those where there is a a feminie God or being that gives birth to Gods... where Gods can die and be born, but the feminine act of creation is the root of the creative act and the most revered fact of worship.

He suggests that the latter, feminized version underpins degernate societies, like communism. Indeed, he points out that even the difference betwen people calling their nation "the fatherland" vs. "the motherland" is an effect of this fundamental difference in masculine/feminie origin of the divine creation process...

As I was reading, it leapt to me that Christianity seems to have its foot in both camps... God is clearly the masculine creator... Jesus was literally born of a human woman.

Evola generally doesn't write positively about Christianity....

>but has said that the modern world is the polar opposite of the best world, that used to exist
>that used to exist
Found the problem, mate.

Happy?
