>We are currently getting ready to release an anime version of Steins;Gate 0, which takes place on an alternate worldline where Makise Kurisu isn't saved. >In preparation for the release, we are showing the original series (plus alpha [the ova, probably]) today (at 7) and tomorrow. If you don't watch it, you'll be turned into jelly!
THIS IS NOT A DRILL
I REPEAT
THIS IS NOT A DRILL
Robert Walker
ok
Logan Sanders
So when is 0 airing?
Logan Bailey
>Maho will slowly replace Kurisu as the new best girl
Samuel Harris
What will actually happen is that best girl shitposting will ramp up.
Justin Reyes
Grown up subaru.
Nathan Lewis
neato, i bought the game but I don't want to upgrade my vita
Christian Sanchez
tell me right the fuck now
Gabriel Smith
>tfw it's been 6 years since S;G aired
Xavier Wilson
The anime was announced alongside the VN you know. And who cares, the VN was shit like the movie. Only good thing will be seeing Maho and Leskinen animated.
Landon Garcia
Is it really that surprising?
I thought it was obvious SG0 will get anime from the day the VN got released.
Jace Turner
The anime was announced literally years ago
Sebastian Lewis
So at what time is the changed episode playing in EST?
Cooper Jenkins
Leave being retarded fanboys to EOPs
Kevin Gutierrez
Why can't they let this series die? The original ended fantastically. But that wasn't good enough and they made an unnecessary movie for no reason. Now they're making a sequel or since it's "0" I guess is a prequel which seems to turn it completely into edgelord shit. This is why we can't have nice things.
Isaiah Gray
You are forgetting about all the drama CDs and spin-off manga/novels. Also >being a secondary
Alexander Turner
0 could've been good since it fit perfectly into the original timeline, it's just that they apparently forgot that the main good thing about S;G was the tight writing of the time travel.
Instead 0 wastes most of its time creating situations for characters to suffer in various ways without properly explaining shit. It also has an awful route structure that severely diminishes emotional impact, and one of the worst characters in Kagari. Basically the same people who enjoyed the cash grab movie will like this.
Bentley Campbell

Isaiah Wright
He's absolutely right though.
Chase Reyes
>hurrrrrrdurrrrrr I'm a secondary faggot
Samuel Martin
I hate to admit it but I agree. Zero hardly lived up to my expectations.
Logan Cook
>all the reviewers on release claiming it was "just as good or even better" than the original >now it's 10 points bellow S;G on EGS
The honeymoon period really is a real thing. I love Maho and wish she'd been in a better game, but this really was mostly a cash grab with some unused ideas from the original. Even the CGs and soundtrack oter than Messenger are lazy as fuck.
Nicholas Gutierrez
Very much agreed. Zero was just so bad coming from the original game. I can not help but think that it was just a lazy sequel made to appease the large fanbase.
Brody Martinez
Everyone here knew from the start it wasn't as good as the original. But your post is still bollocks because it's still good, and the CGs and soundtrack are on par with the original. Go look at the CGs for the original game again.
Nicholas Rivera
>re-awake >lazy as fuck you take that back
Xavier Brooks
>an alternate worldline where Makise Kurisu isn't saved
dropped
Liam Watson
What the fuck was that shit? This was not what I fucking wanted from the game. I wanted to see Okabe actually go through WW3. I wanted to see him research time travel with Daru, and how to make a fucking time machine. I wanted to see his relationship with Mayuri pan out, especially once Mayuri knows about her being the reason Kurisu died. With the introduction of Kagari, I wanted to see Mayuri raise a child. The same thing with Daru. I wanted to see Faris and Luka grow as actual characters. I wanted to see how Maho fit into the future story once she was introduced. I got barely any of this besides hints. I got to play pussy okabe for more than 75% of the game. I got exposition on characters I could not give 2 shits about. I got straight up lazy writing when it comes to the plot. I got a halfbaked Kurisu replacement which should not have been in the fucking game at all. I got a non-ending, which seems to be purposely left that way to sell anime. I got incredibly lazy and some downright badly drawn CGs. In the end, I was fucking bored throughout nearly my entire playthrough. Not to say I didn't enjoy and love the game, I just found it incredibly disappointing. It has some incredibly strong points, with Daru and Maho being excellent characters, an excellent soundtrack, and when Okabe stops being a pussy absolutely amazing scenes (Braun, return of Kyouma). It's just not what I was expecting at all. My hopes were probably a little high, but I still think the game really could have done better with some more meat, less Okabe sighing at everyone.
Adam Sanchez
Sorry, that was pretty nice, but then again it's played like twice. The rest of it was just a tad repetitive for me. Messenger (piano) was in literally every sad/depressed scene.
Cooper Wilson
When will they stop milking this shit and focus on other titles?
Isaiah Watson
>it's played like twice That's the point. It's so good precisely because when you finally hear it you know shit's about to get hype as fuck.
Nathan Edwards
It lived to my expectation, but mostly because I didn't expect much from it other than being a decent adaptation of Epigraph anyway.
Liam Wright
>focus on other titles? They already did. C;C is getting a fandisc, A;C and O;9 VN coming soon.
Isaac Morris
>Fate/Zero >Steins;Gate 0 Let me guess, It's gonna be edgy as fuck compared to the original series right?
Joseph Wood
We recently had Occultic;9 anime recently with Occultic;9 and Anonymous;Code VN's releasing sometime later and Chaos;Child anime is airing right now.
Justin Reyes
Yes and worse writing too.
Isaac Torres
...
Nathan Kelly
It's more depressing than edgy anyway.
Carter Bailey
>SG0 anime >still haven't finished VN I guess I need to hurry then?
Tyler Morris
I don't know if this is a pasta, but it's also a pretty accurate review. That's what I'd say about the game too.
Alexander Torres
>Newcomer >not good >Future of Spirit >not good >Tactics in Confusion >not good >Her Community >not even better than the original Human Community >Easygoing Members >not a good version of the Easygoingness ringtone
Grayson Nelson
So what is Robotics;Notes getting?
Xavier Rodriguez
It's a repost of something I posted a while ago. It does seem a little like pasta, but I was pretty pissed when I wrote it.
Jason Hernandez
how's the VN compared to the original VN? any sequelitis?
Jaxson Turner
Gunvarrel anime. I fucking wish
Lucas Sullivan
its an alternative story.
Bentley Hall
are they making it 12 episodes like C;C?
Adrian Gonzalez
Don't worry, 0 has 3 variations of kurisu. Except it's the worst clone that gets all the focus.
Xavier Collins
Yes, most of it is suffering or pandering with writing not nearly as good. It's got some good moments for most of the secondary cast though, and a new best girl with Maho.
Noah Brown
>amadeus kurisu literally more plot device than character with 0 good scenes >real kurisu is real and good, but only has one scene. great scene nonetheless >kagari LOL
Carter Allen
>Worst clone It was fun seeing a Mayuri Kurisu.
Nicholas Thomas
Pretty great, though the original is still better.
Carson Gutierrez
weebs
Wyatt Thomas
they took their time on this anime. pretty sure its going to be as many episodes as it needs to be.
Matthew Ross
>12 episodes >only adapt Gehenna's Stigma
James Ramirez
>amadeus kurisu baiting the evil hakase and teasing her "how does it feel to get baited lmao" >not a good scene
Christian Nguyen
every scene that has reyes in it is hammy as fuck and boring
Jose Nguyen
They took their time with C;C too, yet it still got 12 only.
Nicholas Lee
Not when she's getting btfo
Nathaniel Brown
>great scene Why did Kagari regaining her memory change it back to a world where SERN would create a dystopia in the alpha worldline, which means Okabe had sent a D-mail at some point?
Why didn't Okabe ask Kurisu to see what D-mail she was sending to "fix" the world line, so he'd have a better understanding of what the fuck was going on? I guess whatever she sent influenced certain organization to put pressure on Leskinen to stop the Amadeus research? If so, how did alpha Kurisu know that stopping Amadeus research would lead back to the beta worldline?
It was nice and emotional, but fuck the random unexplained timeline shifting in SG0. The well clearly defined plot that just clicked together perfectly was the best part of the original.
Angel Torres
Steins;Gate is a special case. they only did 12 because of C;H being 12 ep,
Christian Cook
all good points. I liked the scene mainly because I felt so happy for okabe, but you are correct that it is very hard to make sense out of
Ryan Cook
Twin Automata was the best ending in the VN, with Amadeus' acting knocking it out of the park. I agree that she was too much of a Bond villain though.
Easton Hall
>yfw it's 12 episodes for each ending
Nathaniel Morris
Pretty much. They somehow put in 3 variations and it still wasn't really enough.
Giving Amadeus more focus instead of Kagari would have worked better.
Justin Hill
Pretty sure Amadeus got loads of focus in Altair branch.
William Flores
>Why did Kagari regaining her memory change it back to a world where SERN would create a dystopia in the alpha worldline, which means Okabe had sent a D-mail at some point? Because without her memories DURPA doesn't get timetravel tech, changing the worldline >Why didn't Okabe ask Kurisu to see what D-mail she was sending to "fix" the world line, so he'd have a better understanding of what the fuck was going on? I guess whatever she sent influenced certain organization to put pressure on Leskinen to stop the Amadeus research? >If so, how did alpha Kurisu know that stopping Amadeus research would lead back to the beta worldline? Kurisu sent Okabe something like "Don't be a pussy and delete the D-mails from Echelon"
The lame thing is that since there are multiple parties experimenting with time travel you can bullshit many plotholes with "lol someone experimenting fucked the worldline up" They should have been more detailed on what their experiments were
Dylan Rogers
old news.
until they post date idaf
Oliver Gutierrez
As a plot device, sure. As a character, not really.
Henry Hughes
Finally!
Thomas Martinez
>Why did Kagari regaining her memory change it back to a world where SERN would create a dystopia in the alpha worldline, which means Okabe had sent a D-mail at some point?
Wasn't the change answering Amadeus's cry for help?
I was under the impression that it was something like: >SERN or maybe the committee for some reason decides to try and steal Amadeus >answering the call will lead to SERN finding out everything about the time machine >meaning they'll build their dystopia in the future, since all they really need are the info and kurisu which they technically have >meaning Suzuha's time machine's existence is now paradoxical >shift
I assume the events of the new alpha line either play out as the original S;G did, except Okabe deletes the d-mail and finds out that it's not enough and decides to give up and Kurisu latter finds out the link that leads SERN to their door is Amadeus, or the Suzuha of this worldline came back and told them straight out it was Amadeus.
At which point she sends a D-mail that ends up stopping the creation of Amadeus, thus undoing that worldline.
I agree that Kurisu probably should have told Okabe what her D-mail was, but it didn't fit into their narrative at the moment since Okabe wants nothing to do with anything and is content to just let things happen as they happen, and Okabe mentioning what happens in the Beta worldline (WW3, the existence of Steins;Gate) was probably something that they didn't feel like adding. Kind of lazy.
Eli Walker
So this means >little to no flesh and blood Kurisu >no Okabe×Kurisu OTP moments I literally don't care about 0 now.
Landon Brown
>little to no flesh and blood Kurisu It's a VN in which her death shapes the story. What the fuck did you expect anyway?
Jordan Flores
>no Okabe×Kurisu OTP moments Oh, how wrong you are.
Anyway, just stop being a filthy secondary and go play 0. It's on nyaa.
Jose Wilson
which rock were you hiding under, OP?
Colton Wilson
>tfw someday we might get a s;g continuation with both maho and kurisu
Chase Sanders
Let's not pretend like the original wasn't just endless variations of Gate of Steiner.
Ryan Carter
>people are waiting for the anime instead of playing the vn literally what is the point if it doesnt have fight scenes
Jace Lee
その目だれの目?
Jonathan Robinson
S;G0 brings more glorious Maho and Leskinen posting.
In all honestly I am glad the anime is coming out, both for curiosity of how the fuck they will pull it off without it being a clusterfuck, and I do really want Maho figures, like really badly.
Nicholas Nelson
Retard.
Noah Smith
If it's one cour it's already RIP. And I hope MAGES fucking fails if it is
Jackson Cox
I want to lock Maho in my room and put the key on a shelf that's too high for her to reach.
Aiden Scott
>no Okabe×Kurisu OTP moments
They even hold hands.
Brody Sullivan
>anime gets announced >years later, news about when it's airing gets released >OHMAIGOD ANIME CONFURMED XD
Newfags.
Cooper Powell
I'm actually really excited for the anime because I feel like having more constraints will mean they'll streamline it and make it less of a clusterfuck. The people who adapted the original were pretty good and I think they can understand that giving no explanation in an anime wouldn't really work. And being forced to change the narrative from the branching route structure to a more linear one for an anime is a good thing.
Maybe I'm too optimistic.
Camden Lewis
It was certainly a good job done on the original adaptation and I'd certainly like to think that's down to the people involved just doing a bang-up job.
But part of me fears it was a fluke.
Alexander Hill
Wow it's like that wasn't announced with the useless prequel Zero is. Overall Zero isn't needed but they made it to milk S;G some more because the rest of SciAdv series wasn't capable like Steins Gate in bringing home money.
Kevin Reed
That they went out of their way to reorganize things for the anime instead of a 1-1 adaptation and still capture the original essence makes me think they really knew what they were doing.
Adam Cook
About time.
Benjamin Turner
>prequel >Zero isn't needed That's completely wrong. The events of Zero have to occur for the True End of the original to even be possible. Leaving a story that important to the original plot as a collection of obscure untranslated LNs would be a mistake.
Adam Rogers
You don't know what you're talking about.
Chase Wright
I don't know, the original's ending was more than satisfying enough.
The only thing they really ever addressed that was important in the true end was where the inspiration for deceiving the world came from. 0 itself ends on sort of the same note, with the huge skip from the end of VA to MWC.
Connor Wilson
In my eyes Zero was not a story that needed to be told. I was satisfied with just Future Okabe sending that message during the true route.
Samuel Price
>What's the Epigraph Trilogy Keep denying it
Jaxon Sullivan
Does Epigraph really explain that could have used more explanation from the original? There's Arclight but that whole Mayuri plotline is basically a spinoff solving a problem it created.
Jeremiah Martinez
Kagari was literally the most pointless thing in the whole VN. What the fuck was the point in her character? Her route was shit too.
Jacob Butler
No. Dont try to argue with fanboys, they will fight till the bitter end to protect everything their favorite franchise produces. They have no sense of ambiguity. God forbid something that prints money is being made just to print money. Cant accept that. ITS CRUCIAL STORY MATERIAL 100% ARTISTIC PURSUIT OF THE PLOT.
