Most of what he did is past the statute of limitations. The NYPD was looking into something more recent, and the cops somewhere in Europe were too.
In the long run, Weinstein might look half-decent compared to the rest of them. Seems like he mostly pressured women for sex in exchange for parts, which everyone in the business knows is how it works. They felt violated, but did it anyway for the fame. And if they wanted to get really famous (like Jennifer Lawrence) they kept coming back for more. It wasn't until he got old and fat that they started refusing him and he got pushy to the point he could be charged with something.
But compared to the pedos and rapists, he might end up looking like a teddy bear.
That's how I felt as well, I was just discussing earlier that Hollywood jews like Woody Allen and Roman Polanski are verifiably worse as they've raped 7-10 year olds (Woody married his adopted daughter, then adopted another 3 and raped them until they became adults), and Woody Allen is still working as a director even today. There was so much focus on Weinstein he seemed more like a sacrificial pawn.

I think they (because I think this was all planned) started with Weinstein because he wasn't beloved so people could handle it. He was tied in with the Clintons, so cutting away some of his power cut theirs too.
Once people got warmed up to the idea with him, they moved to others, but notice how they haven't gotten to anyone really shocking yet. Spacey was respected as an actor, but not loved as a person. And they haven't gotten to anyone who went for really young kids yet. They're still getting people used to the idea with perps they won't just go into denial over.

Of course the media will try to bury it. They always have. That's how you know there's something different this time. Ordinarily, Weinstein would have denied it, all the other women in the industry would have said it never happened, and McGowan would have died of an overdose a couple years later. This time multiple women were prepared, plus that article in the New Yorker, all to break at once. That doesn't just happen. He could always buy/threaten them off, but not this time, because someone was driving it.
