Same reason Atheists hate Christians the most, they're the easiest target. A lot of White males are raised to be team players and are taught that everyone is just like us on the inside. Therefore they (incorrectly) believe that being magnanimous will satisfy the opposing team and result in a fair compromise. The actual result in almost all cases is that the enemy smells blood in the water and becomes more aggressive.
