The fact is there can not be any credibility given to unsupported accusations. Do you understand this? There needs to be at least two witnesses for any matter to be established.
You simply have to reject unsupported allegations especially in circumstances like these when the alleged time frame was four decades hence and they appear during an election of high political office.
There is simply no basis to accept them.
People may have been swayed because the smear was so egregious they feel dirty even thinking about it.
So to absolve themselves of any implication even in thought of possibly supporting such a character they do not.
