Pegasus

>Pegasus
Camp and good at dueling but used unreleased cards and mind reading to win
>Marik
Sucks at dueling, then gets replaced by a stronger version of himself and he only barely beats fucking Joey out of luck
>Noah
Sucks at dueling and has no real motivation then gets randomly "redeemed"
>Dartz
Great duelist, manages to fuck over the entire main cast besides Atem but his boring underlings get way more screentime then him
>Bakura
Sucks at dueling, waits 200 episodes to do anything
How did the guy in the worst season become the best villain?

He was kind of a mary sue villain desu He is still my favorite Yugioh villain though

>Sucks at dueling, waits 200 episodes to do anything

Read the manga.

>worst season become the best villain
The season sucked so much anything of value looked godly.

I like Pegasus best just because of his over the top mannerism. Few things I like more than a campy villain.

So "great duelist" means "having the most broken cards"? Because Dartz was just that. A retardely broken deck of cards he seemingly designed himself.

>Gets randomly redeemed

Was there anything outside of the dub to justify his change of heart? It seemed like he switched sides out of nowhere.

Don't forget Kaiba, he was the first villain and remained one of the best duelists.

>Pegasus
>read minds and used banned cards they he invented and "the graveyard is technically on the field"
>Marik
>played fair
>Noah
>invented a mechanic and forced everyone to make up their new decks on the spot
>Dartz
>made up his own cards with INFINITY attack
>Bakura
>first duel is him just trying to kill Yugi's friends
>wasn't even trying to attack but just win by default
Its funny how the most evil villain was the only one who didn't cheat

>Marik
>played fair

Inflicting physical punishment for any misplays/loss of LP is fair?

Yes because he also experiences the same pain.

It hurt him too so yes it was fair

Dartz is fucking shit tier. Read the manga you secondary.

SHADI DID NOTHING WRONG

Yea, he can't conveniently switch himself with his alter ego for shenanigans, right?

And everyone pulled new cards/effects out of their ass, arguably, thats fair since both sides did. But inflicting physical pain to prevent you from actually playing isn't. Joey won that match; he "lost" because he passed out and couldn't officially declare an attack. But that game was his

Well it's also kind of bullshit that a normal person like Joey could even stand after being attacked by a god so it evens out.

This is a joke, right?

You missed Siegfried

This too. Lots of the themes the manga handled well are missing in the anime version.

No one who won a duel solely because he made the opponent to phisically weak to call an attack can be considered a fair player.

>Yea, he can't conveniently switch himself with his alter ego for shenanigans, right?
He can't. The other Marik did overtake him when he had 1/4000 of his soul left.
>And everyone pulled new cards/effects out of their ass, arguably, thats fair since both sides did.
Ra just has a paragraph for effects and Atem uses it those ways too
>But inflicting physical pain to prevent you from actually playing isn't. Joey won that match; he "lost" because he passed out and couldn't officially declare an attack. But that game was his
He could also have just not made a move until Marik called off the shadow game. He knew what he was getting into.

>durr if its called a god if HAS to be invincible
That's boring as fuck. Not to mention the idea that holograms are gods is already bullshit as of its own.

>holograms
They are literally invoking the spirits of the gods. It doesn't even have to be a shadow game for this to happen.

>He can't. The other Marik did overtake him when he had 1/4000 of his soul left.
After the whole match where he fucked with Marik, it was fitting the original owner of the body would regain control from the imposter

>Ra just has a paragraph for effects and Atem uses it those ways too
It's not just Ra, it's since the beginning, like the catapult turtle, mammoth graveyard+arrow, never alluding to new expansions or new cards added into decks (they just magically are there)
>He could also have just not made a move until Marik called off the shadow game. He knew what he was getting into.
Considering Kaiba, he probably would've given Joey a forfeit for not playing

>boring underlings
Granted, Raphael defeating Atem was delicious.

>never alluding to new expansions or new cards added into decks (they just magically are there)
>people put new cards in their decks
Stop the presses

Man I remember this guy. He was pretty lame. That whole arc sucked ass to be honest.

>Granted, Raphael defeating Atem was delicious.
>Atem's only legit loss came from a minor filler villain

>Pegasus
>only lost due to timer running out in the middle of the finishing attack
>Kaiba
>gave up because Kaiba would have killed himself otherwise
>Rebecca
>could have won but chose to give up
>Yugi doesn't count because he wanted to lose
Its even funnier because Guardians are completely useless too

>not using a throwaway line to establish they do deckbuilding

what happened to anzu in the movie? did she get dicked by americans?

YGO:TAS's take on it was pretty good

Take a guess that she dreams of becoming a star dancer.

Best YGO:TAS villain

>invented a mechanic and forced everyone to make up their new decks on the spot
This kind of thing backfires spectacularly with people like yuma

>this was before 2012

I have infinitely more apprication for Raphael's backstory now. I also love how all the voices are still identicle

>YGO:TAS's take on it was pretty good

>unironically took filler arc Yu-Gi-Oh melodrama seriously
>full blown autistic side video comparing Yugi's loss to Trump winning the elections
