KonoSuba doesn't air until a Thursday and Youjo Senki Friday. If you look at their previous spikes they are nowhere near as high as the new spike for Kemono Friends.

There's no reason to suppose the spike for the next episodes will be much different.

Everyone's average at best. Maybe Shoebill's smart, but there's not much to go off of. I wonder how the owls will fit in. They're often associated with wisdom, but they're actually pretty dumb birds.

In today's episode we saw something apparently obvious, sports and games are a replacement for war. Again Bag-chan is the soul bringing peace among the human animals who can't stop warring yadda yadda, we already knew that Bag-chan philosophically represents the purest man*.


What was less obvious was what the Lion and the Moose, and their allies represent.
The Lion-tachi are the people who are strong, and know they are strong. They represent the passive strength, or the ones who don't attack unless they are attacked. It's no coincidence that the grunts are two herbivorous animals, auruch and Oryx.
The moose and her friends on the other hand are animals often considered minor, boring, silly, or stupid. The only one who isn't like that is the Rhino, who is the most human seen so far given that she has an armour. The Rhino also chases Serval, serving both as the classic STR vs DEX fight and as the brute attacking the Virgil figure.

What do we get from this? this episode was an attack to the usual underdog shounen heroes fighting against the strongest power.

Your shounen-tier rebels are shown as violent idiots (notice also how they turned Bag-chan gift of a game into war again, like man has always done with the gift of gods) while the order, which is not by human law but by natural law, is presented as the good guys.
