This and Superbook

Remember the anime or actually remember watching it?
There is a difference.

Pokemon.

First I remember watching was Akira.

First I probably watched but can't remember watching were on Adult Swim like Rurouni Kenshin and Sailor Moon and Dragonball. Can't believe I actually watched so much Sailor Moon though don't even think my sister was with me, I was just into everything they showed indiscriminately I guess, although I only remember tuning in specially for DBZ.

Sailor Moon I think.

I obviously didn't know it at the time, but this is technically the first.

>Back then anime used to teach Christian morals
It really was a different time.

My mom said she used to watch this.

Maya, and also something about idols and remembering love.

I know I should die for saying this but..

Highschool of the dead.

Probably the 4kids dub of Yu-Gi-Oh.

Galaxy Express 999

I don't know the name but I remember enough to give good descriptions of it
>takes place in some european or white country
>girl living with I think adopted family
>adopted dad fucking hates her
>throws her out of the house
>man travelling in carriage with 3 dogs and monkey becomes her new parental figure
>they travel together
>attacked by wolves in snowstorm
>the two smallest dog and new parental figure die
>girl, last dog and monkey travel to their destination
>some orphanage in the big city
>oprhange man owners a dick
>gets along well with the other orphans and stuff
>there was an episode where an orphan got sick and girls orphan love interest played the violin well to get money on a street performance for medicine
>eventually girls real mother whose mega rich is found
>girl reunites with her real mother and she also adopts all of her orphan siblings
Names anyone?

a dubbed Shin-chan

...

Underage bait.

I think it's a tie between Rose of Versailles and Dragon Ball.

Probably pokemon, dragonball, CCS, sailor moon or stuff like that.
But if we are talking about some of the more older obscure stuff that we watched as kids probably something like calimero, wowser(?), ox tales or Alfred J Kwak(ahiru no quak is what it was called in japan.)
I also watched the once upon a time... series, but I have no idea which one, I think it was the one set in the human body.

>once upon a time...
Wait, that's an anime?

probably this

>Calimero
>Alfred J Kwak
fuck me, didn't know i was hooked to anime so early in life

dutchfag i presume?

Isn't it one of those Euro/jap collabs like moomin?

you know it.

The Grimm's Fairy Tale anime that they played on Nick Jr..

I checked, and it is. I thought it was just a cartoon.
Man, that takes me back. I don't remember the names of the characters.
The tanned girl was hot.

Mrs Pepperpot got an anime? I used to read those books...

I still remember the spanish opening

Oh my bad then
Yeah the only reason why I watched is was because I remember her being naked at one point.

Forgot pic

>not watching it for the science

Noozles, I was devastated as she meet her grandfather for the last time. That shit was too heavy for a toddler user.

oddly enough it was probably subbed
was a movie
the first time i watched something subbed by choice could have easily been a decade later

Saint Seiya when I was like 3

It was either Akazukin Chacha or Ranma

Does Sonic X count as an anime?
If so, that.

yo también

tenchi

HARD MODE
whats the first anime you remember torrenting

Dragon Ball. I think it was on Fox in the mornings.

Love Hina.

Recently bought a music CD of Alfred.
Accidentally in German.

Yugioh or Code Geass when I got serious.

Probably Speed Racer.

The first anime I watched knowing that anime was a thing would've either been Tenchi or Gundam Wing, not sure which came first, and the first thing I ever watched subbed was one of the Project A-Ko movies on late night Sci-Fi channel, I think.

It would've been Kazaa or something instead of torrents, but the first anime I can remember downloading was Zeta Gundam. (In postage stamp-sized horrible fansub form, or course.)

Gundam Seed, I guess? Or Bleach.

probably one of these

viva la 70s

What was your first japanese voiced anime?

Probably Samurai Pizza Cats. Granted, I didn't know it was "anime" at the time.

Naruto, my brother showed me the valley of the end fight of the original series and after that I watched every episode on youtube.

Alfred and Calimero were anime?

Lodoss ova.
Probably. not 100% sure

they were collabs between those European countries and japan.
It is a european thing that got animated in japan.
Same as moomin I think

Gundam Wing. I bought it badly subbed over the internet, with my sister. It got me into anime.
It's very 90's but it's pretty good.

Must not be many Americans in this thread.

Azumanga Daioh

Pokemon on RTE2

It's either Sarah, the Little Princess or Akazukin Chacha. Or that Flanders thing

Dolf is justice!

Elfen Lied
not proud of it

Lupin III, Dragonball, Lady Oscar, Captain Tsubasa, Olympus no Pollon
Not sure which one but it's probably one of these

...

>first anime

Pokemon

>first anime I knew was an anime

Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan

>first subbed anime

Digimon Adventure

Lucky Star

>In general?

Probably Doraemon (though at the time I didn't see how much different it was to other cartoons.)

>If its about the more action packed stuff?

I'd say Gatekeepers. Shun Ukiya was my cool "burāda".

Speed racer

>First anime

Cory in the house

>first actual anime

Yugioh 5Ds

...

some show on VHS that my parents rented on vacation.

I can't remember anything except that it was about huge animal mechs and that one was a gorilla that beat its chest to make a sonic wave attack or something.

My parents stopped it pretty early through the tape though since it was more violent than what they expected based on the tape case cover (I was pretty young at the time), so I have never been able to figure WTF is was. Had to have been made in the mid 70s to mid 80s I'd guess.

Pokemon, when I was a little kid I was obsessed with it.
They used to air a lot of 90s anime here, and some local TV channels used to air obscure OVAs at night.

The old hunter x hunter anime.

The first one I remember watching was Speed Racer, but I think the first I actually followed was Medabots. I'm not sure I knew it was anime at the time though.

>HARD MODE
This is actually pretty easy for me to remember, since it's what actually got me into anime. It was Eva, which someone recommended I watch because I liked Pacific Rim.

SYD

And Grendizer.

>Mr. Pepperpot

Who /super 3/ here?

probably Zatchbell, but on tv it was stuff like alfred j kwak, nils holgersson and other stuff i didn't know was from japan technically

Lillibit gave me a thing for girls with long hair

Bananas in Pajamas

excuse me? the bear in the big blue house was clearly superior, why did you watch bananas in pajamas instead?

Sailor Moon. Russian dub. Because it aired right after Spooderman RU dub.

Uh wrong. Bananas in Pajamas is literally the choice of patricians.

so? better than a show about incestous bananas.

Literally? Like are we speaking on literal terms right now?

no course not, that's probably why op said he wanted to know litereally what the first one was

Maple Town Monogatari

Nobody's Girl Remi
I watched the male version of that one and the plot is basically the same.

Geragera Būsu Monogatari

DoReMi on 4Kids

Aside from the general stuff like Pokemon, Shugo Chara was my first

Keroro Gunsou

froge

First movie: dub of Totoro when I was like 4.
First show: dub of Speed Racer
First torrent/sub: GITS SAC

other than Pokemon, Fushigi Yuugi

well, since I just started watching anime, Another

I had seen pokemon episodes sometimes when I was a kid, but Another was the first series I actually watched.

Maya the Bee

youtube.com/watch?v=BLXHuZ-1C_4&t=8s

Fells good

heidi
comfy as fuck

My parents rented it from Blockbuster thinking it was just some dumb kids movie

good start

I got into anime in my last two years of highschool, I don't think I ever watched any as a kid. First anime I ever watched was Dragon Ball, then DBZ.

>This is actually pretty easy for me to remember, since it's what actually got me into anime. It was Eva, which someone recommended I watch because I liked Pacific Rim
Same thing happened to me, although no one recommended it. I saw people comparing Pacific Rim to Evangelion and decided to check it out because the mecha looked cool. So, yeah, I've only been watching anime for a few years.

The sad thing with your situation is probably that you can't enjoy Eva as much as you could have.

this was on rerun next to speed racer for decades

voltron and Robotech. those were the first two animes i can remember. God that was so long ago. I'm 40 now. it was back in 1987 or maybe 85.

Fuck knows, but I know my first experience downloading anime was through IRC. I fucking hated using that shit so much.
As for what the anime was, I'm pretty sure it was either Sonic X or Rockman.EXE.

Probably pokemon (which my mom would take me and my brother to rent from blockbusters after we got into the card game, I think the first we ever watched was the Pokemon Heroes movie), though it's possible there were other Saturday morning shows I'm not remembering. Incidentally, I think I actually knew the term anime at the time, but just thought it was a general "fancy" term for cartoons, and wondered why all these cartoons were Japanese or had had Japanese shit in them. I also fell for the 4kids jelly doughnut thing and thought that's what Japanese jelly doughnuts really looked like.
