The economy should get a big boost from the tax reform and that will help the GOP in the suburban districts where they are at the most risk. People will eventually realize ISIS is defeated and the North Korean thing should settle down eventually. The Russia thing is running out of gas and I can't see it going on another year...Mueller has nothing. The situation will slowly improve and if it improves enough the GOP will suffer losses but still maintain a majority.
The Senate map is favorable. The GOP is likely to retain a slim majority there regardless.
Remember, the GOP also won four House special elections this year, too.

No president with an economy like this one should be polling so low, and there are a bunch of uncertainties that should clear up within the next year that are probably what are driving the numbers down: Mueller, North Korea, the media frenzy ignoring the good economy and the progress against ISIS. Safe to bet that the Russia probe will sputter out since Mueller had such shit indictments to play, and the North Korea thing will settle down eventually without becoming a war. The rest of it will fall out naturally...you can only ignore a booming economy for so long and ISIS will be forgotten before too long. Then you'll see a return to the political fundamentals and they'll be more favorable, and that goes along with an improvement in the Republicans' fortunes.
