Beating opponents by a technique or strategy prepared in advance taking advantage of the opponent not knowing how to deal with it, or not being prepared against it isn't an asspull (since it was prepared in advance, or something that is within the range of things a character can do), it's more like a wakarangoroshi ( kawaiikochan.moe
I don't have an image of Sayaka as an arrogant person, instead I like her serious front (which contrasts with Nozomi's actions), and her well-informedness helps convey informations to the readers (when other characters such as Ai and Sumire aren't around). Her seriousness is part of what makes it more fun to see her occasional charisma breaks ( examples: danbooru.donmai.us
I don't know how she is offscreen, but even with her tactics and adaptiveness, she barely wins her matches (while Mio hardly breaks a sweat not so long after), and Nozomi lasted longer than her in the practice match against Yuzuki.
