Bake sales

Could someone explain this please? How did Bake become so successful?
It's just a harem. No fanservice, no animation, no famous names. Only talking heads.

Look at this. There was no fanservice in TV broadcast.

Only Crab's in Ep.2

Japan really liked it.

>no fanservice
I don't understand why nips like it either. It's pretty shit and a testament to their everlasting shit taste.

Why?

Self inserting perhaps?

Araragi has an actual personality

Okay, I can sort of understand why you'd think there wasn't much fanservice if you've only watched Bake and no following seasons, but

>no famous names
What?
Shaft was already a big studio at that point, and almost every seiyuu in the show is a AAA-lister. I actually don't think I can think of a franchise with more big names.

> Shaft was already a big studio at that point
Bake was their first big hit.
> every seiyuu in the show is a AAA-lister.
Only Kamiya and Sawashiro.

>No fanservice, no animation, no famous names.
Physically end yourself

Bake has no fanservice. Almost.

Senjougahara is practically naked for half of episode 2

best love story ever told

She is naked for 5 seconds.
Underwear is nothing special by anime standarts.

>Only talking heads
Well the talking is really good

This is Sup Forums no 4ants

>Bake was their first big hit.
How is Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei not considered a big hit, it got 3+ seasons? Shinbo's been recycling the specific style he used in it & Hidamari Sketch for pretty much everything he's worked on since as well.

Chiwa Saito? Hanakana? Emiri Kato? Yui Horie?

Amazing characters
Interesting dialogue
Immediate relationship between crab + araragi which feels refreshing after a billion shows with beta males teasing to get a girl for 24 episodes.
The animation was good enough to tell the story plus it looked really nice with great backrounds.

Because it's good.

>How is Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei not considered a big hit
It got pretty low sales. Sure, they made 3 seasons, but they were mostly made out of love instead of profit. Take in mind this was back when Shaft was small and about to die. They even comment on how they were rushing every episode to meet deadlines and stay under their budget.

HanaKana kinda got her BIG boost with Bake instead of before it.

> Chiwa Saito?
Senjou and Homu are her only big roles.
> Hanakana?
Was she popular in 2009?
SZS wasn't very successful.

I can't tell if you're baiting or legitimately an idiot.

SZS didn't actually do that well outside of it's first season, it was more a labor of love than anything else even though we never got to the ending and probably never will, fuck.

It doesn't help that Miyu Matsuki is dead ;_;

I'm glad you have an amazing sense of humor, user.

He is right.

Anna in Shimoneta was probably her best role
though she was apparantly already sick at that point

better question is how the fuck nise sold 60k

A pity I didn't watch the same thing you did.

You should try actually watching Bake, then.

I'll give you that but she was already on the rise at the time.
You need to watch more anime, Chiwa Saito was already prolific for years before Bake.

Madoka cursed her and the rest of the studio.

Mahou shoujo is a cursed genre (Sally the Witch's creator died in a house fire, disasters happen when Minky Momo airs, etc.)

So how do you explain Procure?

Kirito
>faithful to his waifu
>occasionally cries during upsetting moments
>has an excuse for his fighting ability
>Sup Forums hates him

Raragi
>cheats on his waifu all the time
>routinely beats up a little girl
>no explanation for his fighting ability
>half of Sup Forums worships him

How does this work?

>No fanservice

Did I warp into another timeline?

> cheats on his waifu all the time
He never cheats
> no explanation for his fighting ability
He has no fighting ability

Kirito is gary stu, Arararagi isn't

This is some weak b8. Araragi has no fighting ability and his healing is explained because he's part vampire. Kirito has no explanation for half the bullshit he does except "power of love". 2/10, made me respond.

>no fanservice

>no fanservice
>no famous names
Jesus Christ.

>no animation
user, the the second-best-selling TV anime before Bake was Gundam "stock footage" Seed. No one cares.

NO FANSERVICE IN BAKE

Nigger, you literally posted an example yourself .

One scene.

I guess you forgot the loli snake throat-rape.

It was on BD only

That was BDs only.

The first fucking minute of the show has a pantyshot.

>Kirito has no explanation for half the bullshit he does except "power of love".
Wrong, he was a beta tester for SAO

> The first fucking minute of the show has a pantyshot.
Wow
Every other show with pantyshots should sell like Bake then.

What? Are you retarded? The discussion here is about your repeated idiotic claims.

>
>No fanservice

>NO FANSERVICE IN BAKE

There is, though. Quite a bit. Stop moving the goalposts.

>No fanservice

I always hear people talk about Japan's shit taste, but what exactly is it being compared to? It's not fair to compare the entire viewership of Japan to only people on Sup Forums. Of course the larger and more inclusive group of people will have shittier taste. Japan still has better taste than any other country when you compare equivalent populations.

How did snoozefest moeshit do so well is the real question

SHAFT STRONK

Beta tester doesn't explain mad hacka skillz that allow him to program a new item into the game in seconds using a moderator terminal and being able to stay alive after he is killed in the game. Beta tester also doesn't justify being able to solo a floor boss.

You gotta understand that mmo anime is ultra-romanticized MMO's

>no animation
I would say that this actually helped them gain notoriety.
