Not to defend blogshitters but that's a valid term. People who are new to anime as a medium and its storytelling capabilities aren't going to get Kemono Friends as much as more experienced viewers who have a refined enough palate to see how the director uses his tools to create the right emotional response. People who are drawn to animation only when it's "high budget" might not have the visual literacy to fully appreciate the subtleties of what they're watching.

The thing is that it's pretentious when your article doesn't hold up to the complicated-sounding words you're using. If you're going to use a term such as visual literacy you have to show that you're literate yourself. The rest of the article is written like something aimed at mentally impaired children, so it's there just to sound smart.
