The most famous monument in the country (a giant stone fortress called the Citadelle Laferrière) was built by slaves AFTER Haitian independence. Ie., Haiti's new dictators were still using slaves after the country's "liberation" in the early 1800's.

Two years later the new, better pigs came from Iowa.
