Why do Catalonians want to leave the EU so bad? Is it cognitive dissonance? Or are they not aware that they can't be independent and be recognised? Have they learned nothing from Brexit and their botched declaration of independence?

Because money.
Lincoln Brooks
The want to leave for the same reason i want Bavaria to secede from Germany. We pay to much money to dirt poor places within the country and that is unfair as fuck. We South-Germans give the East-Germans way too much money and that is bullshit.
Ethan Anderson
Please, explain how getting outside of the single market and being a state recognised by nobody translates into "more money".
Would you want Bavaria to be outside of the EU? Because the same shit happens within the EU. Richer parts of the Union give money to the poorest to help development and close the gap, which in turns reduces migration flows and so on.
James Williams
Bavaria can stay in the EU, because it benefits us. Staying in Cuckland doesn't benefit us.
Camden Phillips
But seceding from Deutschland would mean staying outside of the EU. I'm asking if you're aware of that. For entering the EU, ALL members must agree, so all members with separatism problems would say no.
Robert Miller
Catalonia pays more money to the federal spanish government than it receives and is one of the few regions that does.
They'd still be in the EU if they truly left.
Cameron Perry
>They'd still be in the EU if they truly left. The European Commission disagrees.
Owen Hernandez
The independentist scum should grow a pair before anything
Brody Gray
>They'd still be in the EU if they truly left. Lie
Oliver Campbell
Catalonians want to separate from Madrid not EU. You are a retard or an anti EU shill, both being of no use to me.
Ayden Murphy
Pretty sure they want to leave Spain and possibly join the EU independant
Jackson Morris
>Catalonians want to separate from Madrid not EU.
First, about half of catalonians does not equal "Catalonians".
>want to separate from Madrid not EU.
Too bad that option is not possible. But again, nationalism does not care about realpolitik, just memes.
>possibly join the EU independant Again, all EU members would have to approve that, which won't happen because of Spain, France, Germany... and all countries with separatism problems.
Does nationalism correlate with deafness or lack of reading comprehension?
Luis Clark
The reason of most catalan indeps who want to leave the EU is the total lack of support from them in the independece stuff. Everything happening here is an "internal affair" for them. So those indeps don't want EU because EU doesn't give a shit
Caleb Edwards
Have the independence supporters ever heard of the Customs union, the EEA? Has any of them been following the Brexit shitsorm?
If so, how can they still want to leave the EU? I don't fucking get it.
Lincoln Morris
How did Catalonia gain independence, but the Basque people don not get their won clay?
Henry Reed
>How did Catalonia gain independence They didn't. They won't, as seen in these past months. We're actually living a Groundhog day, as the results of the recent election are very similar to those months ago. Spaniards are like manlets. They never fucking learn.

During the Transition after Franco's death, the Basque Country got a far better financial deal with the State than Catalonia (because we were retarded) so they don't have the budget problems we have and therefore are less angsty right now
Leo Murphy
>Why do Catalonians want to leave the EU so bad?
They don't.
Michael Scott
Yeah, that explains ETA's terrorism... Nice revisions, mate.
More than 40% seem to, according to the recent election's results. Unless they don't realise that independence equals staying out of the EU, which, of course, has been a talking point avoided by separatist leaders.
Lucas James
It wasn't after Franco's dead, that financial deal with the basque provinces started after the 3rd Carlist war. During Franco's dictatorsip that deal disappeared in Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia, but it remained in Alava
Luke Ramirez
How about you get more clear in those starter statements. Cuz it only looks like you cannot be separated by what's up your ass because you are not allowed to by higher powers.
Carson Ramirez
Sorry, I don't follow. What do you mean? Could you rephrase that?
Caleb Murphy
Average spaniard give 0 fucks about Catalonia They either grow balls declare unilateral independence and we go to war Or they stfu already
Connor Clark
Seperatist traitors are a minority foreign agents.
