We're seeing a common trope in anime most recently. What with Trigger and other studios doing the whole "crank it up to 11" approach.
Is there a name for this genre or convention in anime in which they take something mundane like clothing or ping pong and make it as absurd as possible?
Ive got to say I really enjoy this method of crafting entertainment. It usually comes with the boon of both being very visually appealing and comical at the same time.
>Is there a name for this genre or convention in anime in which they take something mundane like clothing or ping pong and make it as absurd as possible? I think, the pretentious term for it would be: "deconstruction", my sweet spring child.
Ryder Long
But thats not what deconstruction is at all.
Wyatt Williams
Imagine being this retarded.
Camden Rogers
>crank it up to 11 >he obviously didn't read Kuroko no Basuke
Gavin Kelly
I think 'dramatization' is the word user was looking for.
Owen Torres
there is an mspaint anime?
Dominic Fisher
>recently I think exaggeration of different tropes is what anime and manga are all about, though...
Luke Flores
It's called rule of cool, make everything as cool looking as possible
Aaron Wright
Chess anime when?
The Shogi anime I watched was trash.
Ryan Thomas
>absurd as possible The Ping Poing games are nothing you couldn't see in real life, the whole show is actually pretty down to earth aside from the metaphoric parts. Clothing in KlK is just a small part of the themes, calling it a show about clothing is far from acurate. I kinda get what you try to say, but i don't think you phrased that well and the examples are not optimal either
Jose Butler
I hope you're talking about Shion no Ou and not 3-gatsu.
Eli Williams
>We're seeing a common trope in anime most recently >recently If you've ever seen a sports anime or read a sports manga you'd know this is nothing new.
Brody Mitchell
They both suck
Cameron Sanders
> What with Trigger and other studios doing the whole "crank it up to 11" approach >recently I swear to fuck, you started watching anime two years ago.
> ping pong Ping Pong was literally not the same thing at all, you crazy nigger.
Wyatt Jackson
>Shion no Ou Holy shit, I forgot that existed.
Logan Rodriguez
>Ping Pong >absurd >comical >crank it up to 11 Did we watch the same show? It's pretty dam subdued and normal, it's just a drama like any other.
Anyway, yeah, you're clearly a massive newfag and also retarded. You apparently haven't heard of Yu-gi-oh, among many other examples.
Michael Perry
Holy fuck, it's a newfag in the wild!
Logan Kelly
The ping pong was just a picture I happened to have.
Trigger was the first studio that came to mind.
Elijah Nguyen
>the pretentious term for it would be: "deconstruction" nani?
>I think, the pretentious term for it would be: "deconstruction", my sweet spring child.
Go back to TV Tropes if that's what you think deconstruction is
Oliver Miller
The irony here hurts.
Jonathan Watson
This. It's a great way to turn mundane every day activities awesome. I guess the idea to make the activity look as intense as it actually feels for the participants.
Dylan Bennett
It's called "over the top" and Ping Pong certainly isn't that.
Jordan Hughes
A dramatization is the adaption for theater stage.
Jonathan Rodriguez
>ping-pong >mundane A matter of opinion. The same thing could be said about racing and some would agree and some disagree.
William Flores
If you want an actual series about clothing, consider reading Cloth Road.
Hunter Walker
This post is wrong on so many levels.
Cameron Carter
I got something better for you. This is for the Castlevania fans out there.
Tyler Sanchez
>We're seeing a common trope in anime most recently. What with Trigger and other studios doing the whole "crank it up to 11" approach. >recently Stop it.
Adrian Ramirez
When a retard tries to look smart.
Sebastian Smith
Is it like Kaiji's pachinko arc? I don't know why, but I need more of that shit.
Charles White
I don't know. Just stumbled upon it hours ago. Super obscure and unsubbed. From what I could find, those few that watched it enjoyed it.
Isaac Adams
>The Ping Poing games are nothing you couldn't see in real life, the whole show is actually pretty down to earth Really? Because I've never seen people in real life who look like they were scribbled by a five-year-old's crayons. Or are we talking about the good ping pong anime, despite OP's image?
