Why don't we talk about 2010 anime as much as we used to...

Why don't we talk about 2010 anime as much as we used to? Everyone's all "Kuzu no Honkai" this and "Kemono Friends" that. Why don't we talk about stuff like Baka Test, Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou, and Yosuga no Sora as much?

>Why don't we talk about 2010 anime as much as we used to?
Because it's not 2010 anymore?

/thread

Don't you /thread me! This discussion isn't over until I say it's over!

Himeji a literal móeblob

and 2010 is 7 years ago, get over it

We have occasional YnS threads though, you can't expect more from a 6 year old anime with no new content ever since.

What's there to talk about? What's stopping you from making a thread?

I shouldn't have to make a thread. I shouldn't be the only person on Sup Forums that's loyal to the shows I love, that doesn't immediately drop the classics in favor of the new hotness.

We did discuss them. 7 years ago. There's nothing more to say.

I still like those shows. There's nothing new to talk about, what do you want from me? Do you want a neverending circle jerk like this?

There's a LOT more to say, and with a whole new generation of anons at that.

>I shouldn't be the only person on Sup Forums that's loyal to the shows I love
If loyalty is creating a thread, why won't you?
Everyone else might have the same mindset, you're not special, no one does it for you nor fellow anons. Someone needs to step in front for something to be happening and apparently it's not you.

People like novelty. That's how it is.

Also, there are threads of classics every now and then. Just make your own.

it's literally one of the worst and most forgettable periods of anime

>Why don't we talk about stuff like Baka Test,

Because Minami didn't win.

A whole new generation of anons that don't care about some shit anime that Sup Forums got nostalgic for?

Because we need to go further back and talk about stuff from 2007.

Like Busta Rhymes

The old anime have already been discussed to death.

meant to quote

That's just how it is. Most of Sup Forums's current users weren't watching anime when those shows aired.

Did the Daimaou manga get axed? I just finished it and it ended kind of abruptly.

>2010 was 7 years ago
>most modern Sup Forums posters were 11 at the time

Daimaou was a LN series, the Manga was just an adaptation. There's no reason to continue the manga after the LN ended.

2010 was a pretty shitty year tbqh

>tfw I was 22 for Winter and Spring 2010, and 23 for Summer and Fall

I watched Yosuga when I was 16

>There's no reason to continue the manga after the LN ended.
for money?

the ending must have been shit if people lost interest in the series after it ended

Late 00s was actually one of the best periods of anime, and one of the best eras of Sup Forums.

2009 was like the worst year ever

Yeah, but 2010 wasn't late 2000s. The gap in quality between 2008 and 2010 is like night and day. (Every year past 2010 has been cool, though)

Promotional LN is the same as promotional anime

Anime and manga adaptations of LN are made to advertise the source material. There's no reason to keep advertising the source material after it's over.

>Why don't we talk about 2010 anime as much as we used to?

Are you retarded?

People do talk about the classics.

Random season filler like Baka Test does not belong to them.

yeah and the early 10s, the period in question was one of the worst

>Why don't we talk about anime from seven years ago as much as we did when they weren't from seven years ago?
What a fucking mystery.

Just off the top of my head

>Hidamari Sketch
>Aoi Bungaku
>Gay Rapist Spiderman
>A ton of yuri shows
>Fullmetal
>Browner than SHIT
>GA Design Class
>Tokyo Magnitude 8.0
>Katanagatari
>Natsu no Arashi
>Baka Test
>1920s Baseball Girls
>Spice & Wolf
>Bakemonogatari
>Mazinger
>And a bunch of shit I know I'm forgetting

Seems like a pretty decent year to me.

I feel like anime was generally different between 2008-2012 I wouldn't consider the cutoff point of those types of shows to be 2010

Because people realized it sucks

>feel like anime was generally different between 2008-2012

What?

You had Kyoani moe anime (K-on, Hyouka)

Light Novel adaptions

Cute girls doing cute things

Literally nothing changed since 2008

I do kind of understand his frustration. It feels like discussion for anything that ended more than a few months ago is almost non-existent. That's just the nature of Sup Forums though.

>Literally nothing changed since 2008
Not entirely true. The Isekai genre overtook the battle harem genre.

Good point
i guess anime has always been the same since moe anime, novel adaptations, and cute girls doing cute things have been around for several decades

>implying they're not the same fucking thing

who gives a shit if it's the setting is slightly changed

if they make money, no need to end them, satan

Sorry man, but you're cleary wrong.

Anime in 2012 is literally the same as anime now. This could be a 2017 season and nobody would notice the difference

god damn, 2009-10 was so shit

>Shows tend to have different character archtypes
>Different settings
>Different plots
>Switched to HD
>Mastered the use of digital tools
>CG started to become more prominent
>Web novels and manga get more popular
>Low budget anime intended for internet release gets more popular

>But its the same

2012 anime was far more intelligent and elegant. Shinsekai Yori would NEVER be approved nowadays.

I like baka test but season 2 was pretty boring and lost its luster which was season 1. Yosuga no sora: nothing to talk about since everyone who loved the show finished the VN, therefore no discussion.

>2012 anime was far more intelligent and elegant

Uuhh..

>>Hidamari Sketch
moeshit
>>Aoi Bungaku
actual good anime nobody watched
>>Gay Rapist Spiderman
???
>>A ton of yuri shows
yurishit
>>Fullmetal

>>Browner than SHIT

>>GA Design Class

>>Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

>>Mazinger

>we replaced shit with shit

wow, what progress

Kill yourselves.

Still no bro's like the ones in bakatest
Is there anime where the bro levels come high enough to compete?

also
Birdy Decode
Sengoku Basara
Phantom Requiem
Ristorante Paradiso
Umineko
Canaan
Nyan Koi

I wonder if I'd enjoy Basara these days, or if it was the threads here that made it fun

>inb4 but the guy was an asshole instead of a beta, so that means it was good!
No.

please stop listing shitty anime. it's embarrassing

>moeshit
I want Sup Forums to leave.

How is this related to what I said? I was saying battle harems and isekai are basically the same, which they are.
Those shows tend to have the same character archetypes, the same plots and even the setting is often the same, just with a different "prefix". I don't see the big difference in setting between "generic fantasy world" and "5 seconds of contemporary japan before being transported to generic fantasy world".

All the other shit you listed is just technical stuff, hardly relevant as to what type of shows exist.

>not calling out "yurishit," "mainstream shit," "forced drama," or "shaftshit"

>Reading the entire bait

Those shows were flavor of the month in 2010. The new shows you mentioned are the current flavor of the month.

There's a lot more yuri this time around though.

um actually I was 13 thank you very much

I miss baka test so much.

>Baka Test, Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou, and Yosuga no Sora
Such classics.
