I want to try next Friday with you guys. I'm just at the point where I can do 3.5 - 4 star songs. I still don't know how people can do like 6+ stars. Is it all muscle memory + amazing peripheral vision? Or do they just play a song over and over until they can do it blindfolded?

Muscle memory plays a big role but mostly it's that your reading gets good enough to recognize how to play the map with a glance. Then you just need to get used to how to aim/tap.
