What is the reason why so many modern anime are pretty much deny the existence of men?

What is the reason why so many modern anime are pretty much deny the existence of men?
They don't even exist as background characters.

I don't know but I think we can all blame KyoAni and K-On! for the poor state of male representation in anime.

Because girls are pure blank slates.

Denying it and ignoring it are not the same. That's like saying any show not set in Africa is denying its existence.
Why do you give a shit about male representation in anime? Especially in anime about cute girls?

Because it's boring.

Moe is pretty much reducing female characters to fetishization vehicles.
A trend which K-On! was part of it, even it wasn't the cause.

Comparing the original Idolmaster to Love Live is pretty good at showing the difference between otaku culture even of the early 00's to today.

But the success of Konosuba and the flawed funny endearing hot gross and stupid yet clever and highly yankable women in it might actually get us some women that are interesting and fappable.

why do almost no women exist in yaoi shows?

because people who watch anime are failures who can't handle competition, even from 2d characters

It's male characters that are boring

What's boring? The shows? Well don't watch them then. Why would "male representation" make them any more interesting?

It won't. These fags just need someone to self-insert as. Must blow to not be a little girl, eh?

The problem is not that focus is on a group of girls but how you can't even show that men are somehow part of the world.

see >because people who watch anime are failures who can't handle competition, even from 2d characters
Yuri is for men who hate men. Yaoi is for women who hate women.

Yurifags can't handle heterosexual love between 2D characters, because they get jealous of the man. They're so far gone that they can't even handle male characters existing, because they MIGHT steal one of the girls away. Yurifags are basically the lowest of the low and should be eradicated en masse.

Flawed women in anime are fetish fuel AND ego booster. Otaku see them and think, I'm better than her, I could fuck her

It's because you are watching moeshit, you idiot

You can easily say the opposite when it comes to shounen shit like Jojo, YuyuHakushu, Fist of the North Star, and even fucking Justice League which put women as nothing more than a token for the minority that can be easily be removed without changing a single thing

70% of Yuri Hime readership are women, you faghag

Fucking stop, you dumb faggots. They're not real flaws. They're cute flaws. No female characters in moe anime are realistic at all, whether or not they have "flaws". Now, I'm not even arguing that they should be flawed, but don't try to defend them by saying shit like

>THIS GIRL IS A YANKEE AND THIS ONE DRINKS TOO MUCH AND THIS ONE DOESN'T GET HER WORK IN ON TIME THEREFORE THEY AREN'T MOEBLOBS

All of that is moe. Yankee moe. Lazy moe. Retard moe. All of it. You can defend your shitty anime's writing when they start having slut moe and STD moe.

Are you retarded? Shounen is for 12-year-old boys. Of course they tend to have more male characters than female characters. The question he's asking is why anime that's targeted towards adult men would all exist in a post-male genocide world. And the answer is that otaku are jealous of 2D boys.

>Yuri
cgdct isn't yuri you retard. Fuck off back to and shitpost over there.

This.
It's also why yuri that doesn't pretend to be all totally straight girls who want the dick and are only doing it for the men shit tanks hard as fuck.

Even the stuff with incidental yuri doesn't do very well. Not any more.

I guess the lesbians have finally convinced the men and otaku that they aren't just being slutty for men and they are in fact just loving the clam.

Slam Dunk, Flame of Recca, Full Metal Alchemist, Jojo, Haikyuu, Hajime no Ippo, and Hunter × Hunter ARE for adult men

don't reply to posts that reply to twenty other posts unless you're the one who makes them

Make me

>canon boyfriend
>was in waifu rankings until the late 00's

It wasn't always that bad.

>slut moe and STD moe
I think you should just stick with western media, seems anime isn't your thing

>slut moe and STD moe
Galko-chan exists

I'm not arguing that anime girls should be sluts. I'm arguing that having cute flaws doesn't mean the girl isn't a moeblob.

She was still well-liked despite that actually, since she was just such a good girl.

>Haikyuu
Sure, that's for adult gays and fujoshi.

You're Under Arrest was extremly popular in the otaku demograhics and both lead characters had boyfriends.

>70% of the readership of a shoujo magazine are women

Oh, and 98% of the viewership of the Yuru Yuri anime are men.

Well, at this point not even dating sims are that relevant in modern otaku culture anymore.

Yes, that's what I said. They were such good girls that nobody cared that they weren't celibate talking dolls.

Men are icky.

...

The fact that they can't casually show some male characters is pretty strange.

Yuru Yuri was published by Yuri Hime. So is Citrus

>why do these shows about girls only have girls in them?
Gee retard, I don't know.
I can find at least 5 shows this season with men in them. What a shitty complaint. You look like an SJW.

see

>Moe is pretty much reducing female characters to fetishization vehicles.

As if this trend didn't already have parallels in the west and other media culture which sticks a woman at the front. Pop-idols, girl bands, movie heroines, porn fantasy settings, even show girls at car shows and game events.

Moe is not the first nor the last cause of this that is prevalent in our culture (west or east).

Girls like cute things too you know.

I find it boring when an anime has either no relevant girls or no relevant guys. Having characters of the opposite gender makes character dynamics many time more interesting

Why is the lack of women in shounen any different from the lack of men in CGDCT? Why would you think addressing such "issues" is anything other than utterly irrelevant?

>flame of recca
>fma
>jojo
>ippo
>hxh
>for adult men

Yes?

14 is not adulthood.

Holy fucking shit, that's why I brought it up. What part of this are you not getting? How is bringing up a SHOUJO MAGAZINE as having more female readership than male readership proof of anything? Do you realize that having only 70% female readership is shockingly low? A shoujo magazine that focuses on male/female romance probably has a gender gap higher than 70/30. It just goes to show you how big yurishit is with men.

And despite the fact that Yuru Yuri is technically shoujo, its anime's audience is nearly all men.

So?

No, the answer is that otaku aren't disgusting normalfags who need a male character to self-insert into, and can enjoy cute things for their cuteness.

>Yurifags are basically the lowest of the low and should be eradicated en masse.
I dislike, but silently tolerate Yurifags since they're not even half as bad as femdomfags.

What in the fuck are you smoking, man?

Because little boys tend to care about hot blooded fightan, so it makes sense that the characters are mostly male.

Adult men, however, have no such excuse. Adults should have a variety of tastes, and it's weird that one gender would be excluded entirely. The only logical explanation is that male characters make otaku jealous and scared, because they have to keep up the delusion that their waifu belongs to them alone.

>can enjoy cute things for their cuteness
Are you a brony?

Please be bait

The removal of men from backgrounds and indeed from certain anime in general is a natural reaction to the influence of the harem genre since the turn of the century. You think an 80s harem like Ranma with multiple males would work nowadays? No fucking way.

Modern otaku can't take there being any competition for the girls in these shows, or any virile males whatsoever other than the MC. Thats why all the males in harem shows are reduced to Sunohara tier losers, uninterested shotas or self obsessed narcissists, all unable to compete for the girls, basically castrated for all intents and purposes.

Love Hina did the "one guy multiple girls" in a relatively secluded location, the apartments, thing so well almost all the romantic shit that followed used a similar formula. No other males, no competition, no way to be cucked or miss out. But there's still one problem, the MC is a male and not a complete self insert.

Thus moe shows were born, with no males whatsoever, harems without an object of affection. Hidamari sketch could've easily been a harem if there was a guy in the apartments, same with K-on if there was a dude in the music club. The whole slice of life genre was born from the insecurities of fat jap otakus.

>male characters are for self-inserting
Go away, /u/. You're not anime fans. You'll never be anime fans. You don't understand anime, and you just want to masturbate to lesbian garbage. Go shit up somebody else's hobby. Go to Sup Forums and talk about Orange is the New Black or whatever shit they watch over there.

Sup Forums is for anime fans, not yuri fans.

What the fuck are you idiots even talking about?

...

I love non-yurifag moe fans. You guys are so pure. You legitimately just want to see cute girls doing cute things, and the thought of them kissing each other never even entered into your minds.

I find it fascinating whenever stumble into moe anime threads and see moe fans and yurifags arguing with each other. It's rare, but it comes up every once in awhile. It's like there are two kinds of people who watch these shows, and neither side knows the other exists.

Did I say all anime targeted at adult men should be moe-moe cgdct slice of life? You can have some moeshit here, some gar there. Variety is good.

And I never implied yuri at all. The absence of male characters doesn't make everybody a flaming faggot. Just because you can only think with your penis doesn't mean the rest of us have to.

when you reply to yourself a lot of times

>male representation
What the fuck is this, reverse-tumblr? Get out.

Better yet, give me more interactions like konosuba where the group doesn't put anyone on a pedestal and they all treat each other the same.

Dumbfuck can't tell the difference between genre and demographic.

>Adults should have a variety of tastes
Expecting one genre to fulfil that is stupid. Adults can watch more than one thing.

The more sensible conclusion is that boys tend to be pretty worthless in a show that's about cute girls being cute. Why do you want them in if they don't help the show's actual goals?

There's no use trying to talk sense to such people. They only see battle shounen and moeblobs. There is nothing in between and nothing else in their world, and even if it was paraded in front of them they'd still assert it's one of the above.

The industry can't survive on otaku, fujo, and thirsty queers alone.

The absolute failure of anime in the west in the last couple of years should tell you that. Well, it had more to do with the death of the unoffical subbers, and the WEEEABOO AM BAD thing and america stealing megaupload...but still.

Modern animu isn't helping.

You're the one who argued that a shoujo magazine having 30% male readership means that yuri is for girls, so I'd say it's you who doesn't understand demographics vs genre.

You sounds like those who demand for more blacks, faggot and tranny to have role in film because they think those are being under-represented in hollywood.

>The industry can't survive on otaku, fujo, and thirsty queers alone.
It has and it will. The majority of anime has always been pandering garbage, and there are still good shows coming out. You just don't remember the former and don't want to see the latter. That said, manga is where most of the good shit generally is anyways.

>The more sensible conclusion is that boys tend to be pretty worthless in a show that's about cute girls being cute.
Kill yourself.

Anglophones are currently having a discussion, please come back later for animay boobies.

When you say that no male characters = yurishit, you out yourself as a self insert fag

Yuri magazine is not shoujo magazine.
Shoujo magazines features female oriented het stories

Said someone who makes a blanket statement like this

>The majority of anime has always been pandering garbage
Nope, not even close. Otaku didn't start dominating the industry until the 2000s. 70s, 80s, and 90s anime were mostly for children, and adult anime could be watched by pretty much any kind of adult.

It's the 2000s where anime targeted towards anime fans took over.

No, the industry survives mostly on kids' shows and occasional hits.

>for the poor state of male representation in anime
Male IS THE FUCKING MC

Is he the seme or the uke, do you think?

hahahahahaha
no

"Tend to be" doesn't mean "always are." There have been good male characters in cgdct. They're just not always needed.

>I have no argument and I have to save face.

Who are you quoting?

Holy fucking shit, fuck off you newfaggot, underage piece of shit. Yuri Hime is a shoujo magazine, you dumbshit.

Holy fuck, I can't believe you wasted so much time just because you're an ignorant piece of shit.

They do tend to usually have yuri bait in them though.

Anglophones are currently having a discussion, please come back later for animay boobies.

It's still mostly for children, at least in terms of revenue. Precure, One Piece, Gundam, etc are where the money is.

Expected of idolshits which doesn't even realize what piece of garbage they're watching.

So post a yuri magazine made for men?

I find it hilarious that yurifaggots think they're different from haremfaggots. They think that anyone who wants male characters is a haremfaggot who wants to self-insert.

It's not "yuri vs harem".

It's "yuri and harem vs everything else".

Yuri and harem are two-sides of the same coin. They're both shit for otaku who want to fantasize about waifus. The only difference is that haremfaggots need someone to self-insert as whereas yurifaggots don't. Everyone else, meanwhile, enjoys anime with good stories and characters of both genders. Arguing between harem and yuri is like arguing between dogshit and catshit; neither is meant for human consumption.

You're right it has.

But the pandering has been more subtle and had a far wider range of genres and styles.

Now it's literally all otaku/fujo/thirsty sexually deprived homosexuals stuff.

Name 10 adult oriented anime and movies that have come out in the last 15 years that aren't the above.

Just fucking 10. You have 15 years to draw from
No this is not a subtle request for watchable anime.
....

You may participate in this debate if you can provide a translator capable of understanding your peculiar language, but should that prove impossible, you had best be off.

>Nope, not even close. Otaku didn't start dominating the industry until the 2000s
Eva literally started late night television anime for adults.

Signal harder, please. Gobbling pretentious shit does not make you superior to those who recognize and accept what they like.

Ironic shitpost.
Sincere shitpost.

There are plenty of yuri seinen manga, and they just get serialized in normal seinen magazines.

Yuri Hime was originally sponsored by Monthly Comic Zero Sum, which is a josei manga but gained independence by 2008

Why am I even replying to this bait
