Jalisco state legislator and former mayor of the city of Tomatlán Saul Galindo Plazola was assassinated today by gunmen in central Mexico. This is the second assassination of a Jalisco state lawmaker in a single week, which is unusually violent even by Mexican standards - these guys are actual elected officials; not just regular cartel members or something. What's going on down there?
