Because America doesn't fight to win wars. Because they get in to wars that aren't justified as total war.

Communist deepstate

>win
Vietnam is still a third world shithole, how did they win?

It remained a commie state
You burgers lost that objective

"That" was destroyed as a fighting force in the failed Tet offensive.
North Vietnam regarded the war as lost, then the Jewish Media used their puppet Walter Chronkite to propagandize that the Americans had lost.
Mind you, we weren't trying to win. It was all a farce to feed the military industrial complex. Those commies had a hard on to make my running shoes. The commies we should have been shooting at were in the US on college campuses and burning down entire sections of cities

Good soldiers

Because they fought the boomers

>France
You didn't win either, retard.

And where did I mention France winning against Vietnam? Looks like you Ahmed goat fuckers lack reading comprehension

It was a shitty war with a shitty outcome, if you go by kills we won, we literally didn't lose or gain anything

>France
>Ahmed goat fuckers

our objective was to kill a bunch of commies and that went well. As for beating the communism out of them, well you can lead a horse to water.....

you faggots started it. just like you started Libyan war

Like from the Sun Hsu art of war, knowing the land is one of the most important factors for victory.

They were peasants with guns. Most of the Americans had never seen a jungle before, let alone fought in one. Of course jungle people could outplay urbanites in a jungle.

Domino theory.

The communist ideology is something that needed to be fought, it's something that consistently kills due to being way too accustomed to finding reasons to kill.

because liberals cried bitch tears over the idea of total war in Vietnam, and preferred to watch american teenagers die by the thousands fighting over rice paddies and acres of booby-trapped jungle

vietnam would have been over in 1 month if we had nuked Hanoi how we should have

USSR won, not Vietnam. And being a defendant is easier than an attacker.

nigger soldiers, jew leaders

>Noble and pure Vietnamese people vs amerimutts

Hmmmm indeed

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_history_of_Australia_during_the_Vietnam_War

>better understanding of the land
>fighting for their sense of nation giving them way more will to battle as they were under the boot of france before america came on the scene
>communism was a secondary belief if you read ho chi minh communism was merely the vehicle of nationalism
>america had stretched supply lines
>american will was weak especially public will
>vietcong had support from china and russia

there's probably way more reasons but they're the top ones that spring to mind

>Win

>how did they win
Our little capital named Saigon was re named Hi Chi Minh city after the north unified the country. The US did nothing good for Vietnam. Neither did the French

RICE
I
C
E

Internal American politics, mostly. And it is very hard to win against guerrilla fighters

Also, soy.

The old man in the tunnel didn't defeat the US the soviets did it on our own streets.

Soviet backing

The question you should ask is why did THESE FAGGOTS think it was preferable to shoot and kills government soldiers enforcing the law, just so they could avoid taxes and keep their slaves?

WIN???? 2/3 of your people dead ok buddy

Because Asian’s are born soldiers. Their combat discipline is off the charts. You gotta nuke them to make them quit

Micromanaged to hell. Didn't let the military do it's job. Anything that worked, the international community cucked and cried foul as usual. Should have burned the entire jungle to the ground and rained hellfire but noooooo.

The americans pussyed out.

...

Because Vietnamese are smarter than americans.

How did THIS defeat the British Empire twice?

it was a proxy war with the USSR dipshit

A lot of yellow people were raped and killed, it was fun.

>win
You spelled “lost every major military engagement and sued for peace” wrong.

1776 = without French help, doubtful they would've won.

1812 = Lost all the way up to New Orleans, then Gen. Ross made an extremely retarded blunder. And the war was over anyway by that time.

War of attrition. It is how we won the revolutionary war but somehow forgot about it and have been falling for it since the 60s. If you are not going in for whole sell slaughter you have no business going to war to begin with.

America loosing in Vietnam is the biggest misconception in ever. Its a product of decades worth of Soviet funded disinfo and anti-war protester activities.

The kill ratio speaks for it self.
The US won every single military engagement they were in during the Vietnam war. Its only after 1973 when the Paris Peace Accords came to be the US pulled out. This was also do to domestic pressure.

USSR and North Vietnam did not abide the Paris Peace Accords.
The South Vietnamese lost the war not the US.

It was more to stop communism from spreading any further

home field advantage

I always love the part where they tried to win by literally burning down forests with hot jelly. Just incredible how fucking shameful a military display Vietnam will remain for the rest of history.

they didn't. 58k american casualties vs 1+m commies. the southern allies had won by 73 and pulled out immediately afterwards because of liberal faggots stateside. the north finally overran the south in 75. this board is fucking retarded when it comes to history.

It was a pretext for increasing taxes and getting Americans killed while taking every precaution to ensure another defeat and catastrophic disgrace of the United States.

The success of the Korean War was momentarily endangered by a nasty general named MacArthur, who did not have wit enough to understand that his duty was to get as many stupid Americans killed as possible, and to waste as much of American resources as he could, without serious inconvenience to the BoIsheviks. But as soon as MacArthur was eliminated, everything went according to the plan that had been agreed upon in Washington and Moscow, and it was easy to herd the cattle into other disgraces until the bloody farce in Vietnam finally exhausted the utility of the hoax about "fighting Communism" and prepared the boobs for more open submission to their "invincible" enemies, now reconverted into friends by crude, but effective, propaganda.

>tl;dr burgers could have won in a day but they were set up to lose

But it did spread

I'd say the same about the Vietnamese. We destroyed the fuck out of their country but you still think they won. So by that standard, the colonies beat your royal asses.

And you lost a war to fucking birds.

It didn't because we were forced politically to pull out sad when we were fucking up their asses.

The most powerful country in history got tired of kicking your shit in, and went home.
When the North Norks invaded the South Norks, there was no American army to deal with, so they only went up against other Norks. Those Norks dropped their guns and ran like pussies, so how could you help but win?

If the U.S. army had been authorized to invade the north, or even to bomb it, the South Norks would now own the whole country, and ALL the rice.

The U.S. got sucked into that war by France, and we had no real reason to give a shit about any of it. Congress kept the war going for the gain of the military industrial complex (their REAL bosses), and eventually public sentiment in the U.S. forced the government to pull out of that shithole, because nobody could give anyone a REAL reason to be there in the first place. We didn't want your rice.

While the U.S. Army was there, even with its hands tied, it killed over 8 NVA for every U.S. casualty, and won every major engagement with the NVA. If they had been allowed to attack North Norkland, the whole thing would have been over in 2 or 3 weeks.

But nobody makes money when the war ends, you can't sell more and more bullets and guns that way.

A just cause, protecting their homeland from a foreign invader

I'm hearing the same sort of excuses that America would give for Vietnam, "They would've lost if X hadn't helped." Just admit it, by the standards you use to judge the Vietnam war, the American colonies beat the British twice.

>How did THIS win against the most powerful country in History?

It didn't. Nasty, stinky, unbathed, braindead hippies are what caused the US to pull out.

At some point we realized that communism's biggest enemy is communism itself.

user we lost get over it

United States: 2,200 battle deaths. 15,000 total casualties
British Empire: 1,600 battle deaths, 5,000 total casualties
>the colonies beat your royal asses.

That was probably the extent of what you were taught in school so I don't blame you for being retarded.

Bullshit, congress wouldn't let the military do it's job.
Nixon bombed Hanoi for 2 weeks and the N. Nork government was begging for a peace treaty. Congress stepped in and told the President he couldn't bomb the north, because it wasn't a declared war.
With the pressure off, the NV government could go back to throwing their people into the meat-grinder again, while they returned to living in safety and comfort.

Lol woah you guys killed more of us and still lost? KEK

Sup Forums tier thread.

NVA were good soldiers to be quite honest with you

The black pyjamas meme were the Vietcong

Shut up and make my sneakers

>France
So what exactly did you accomplish for six decades?

Yes, clearly northern Vietnam lost

the british won a lot of battles but the colonies won the right battles. cornwallis was a smart guy but clinton was a total retard who hid in new york for the entire war with half the british infantry. washington an the marquis were too much for one commander to out-maneuver alone.

Well how's that communism doing?

It was more of a political and cultural victory for North Vietnam, not a military one. While Americans were quite effective against north vietnamese, their real goal on a political level was to ensure that South Vietnam won't fall to the communist influence, and that's were the problem was. South Vietnam was simply to weak and completely dependant on American support, thus making american intervation a drain of recources.
What's the point of American presenese, if south vietnamese can't stand up for themselves? It'll be just a constant waste of money, troops and political points in a battle that cannot be won. All this was used by the whole """"anti-war movement"""" to distort the support for war among the american public, which forced the political establishment do deem military presence in Vietnam to be too costly, forcing them into pulling out of it.

>most powerful country
Vietnam defeated Persia?

Politics
vs
gen 4 warfare
bad mix

but you can't force it to drink

And just like the Americans in Vietnam, you fled. You lost your colonies and your generals surrendered (that dumb fuck Cornwallis got beat at Yorktown). Except unlike the Americans in Vietnam, you dumb fucks came back and were forced out again. The hubris of the British made them lose against a group of haphazard, ill-trained dirt farmers.

lol why do some of you guys get so upset that we lost in Vietnam?

The War of 1812 was more of a stalemate than a win considering they stopped us from conquering Canada and burned down our White House

Hey now, emus are one of the most aggressive and dangerous birds!

No but it defeated China lmao

>France

France is right if you think about it, I mean they just let Vietnam go when it started becoming a communist shithole. The United States on the other hand was clinging so hard to try and keep it from turning that it ended up losing thousands of lives for something that was practically impossible to save.

I think America would have defeated NV and the VC, but politics got in the way. Cliche, but still.

fpbp

Media bias.

Because Journalism.

>win

it's not a matter of being upset so much as correcting a mistake. the southern allies won a clear and decisive victory in vietnam. it wasn't until a year and a half after the allies pulled out that the north overran the south.

Let me ask you this...why the fuck do we care if S. Norkland buries itself under communist tyranny?
We, as a people, have enough trouble trying to keep our own government from becoming tyrannical, we have no time to worry about some two-bit goddam swamp in Indonesia cucking itself with communism.

We shouldn't have gotten involved in the first place, there was no gain in it for us, and our own congress hobbled our military & wouldn't let them fight it as a war, but some never-ending "police action."

Which is the point in the first place...it WASN'T EVEN A WAR. The Norks think it was, but they never really felt the overwhelming firepower of the U.S. military actually engaging in real war with them.

It's actually pathetic that they think this limited engagement was a war.

Living raptors vs malnourished knockoff-chinamen

The United States military was prohibited from invading North Vietnam.

So the war became a defensive guerilla war of attrition with the US hoping to break the enemy's will to fight by inflicting casualties. To that end the United States killed about 10 Vietnamese soldiers for every soldier we lost (not including civilian casualties). However the Vietnamese viewed the war as a glorious revolution against imperialist invaders so their will to fight was very high even in the face of regularly getting their asses kicked for a decade. In contrast the American people and soldiers never really gave a fuck about Vietnam. Additionally the use of the draft to forcibly conscript soldiers was immensely unpopular so in time political pressure in the states forced an end to the war.

As the Vietnamese General Giap said in reference to the Tet offensive. "I lost Tet on the ground; but I won it in the American press and that was all that mattered.".

since /pol seems to have no idea about vietnam here's a quick rundown by a friendly old man.

Its not a real commie state, its actually capitalist like China and very pro American. I shit you not you people need to do research.

usatoday.com/story/news/world/2015/03/13/vietnam-capitalism-global-post/70261770/

Vietnam isnt actually communist you retards.

Good post, very interesting video. Thanks user.
