What kind of events do you have to go through in your life to find this enjoyable?

jibunwooo.com

What do you play? I've been wanting to start a prog rock band ever since I was a teenager, you live near me and have a place to play?

Because I'm tired of playing local music and I want to try something enjoyable and new.

Thank you! I never knew this existed.

I don't probably live close if you are talking about the U.S. or Europe. Anyways, I play guitar, bass, drums and a bit of piano. Most of the time I use DAW's through.

Maybe I will open a folder for information purposes.

>I don't probably live close if you are talking about the U.S.

Okay. I've been playing the guitar for quite some time now but I don't know shit about recording or mixing so anything I upload would sound like trash. Good luck though, user.

If you know how to plug a guitar to the MIC port in a PC and record it, you are ready. I might try to send some files to the link user gave me here but I would be glad to help anytime if I could.

acoustic guitarist here
why is all anime music electronic

I'm looking for people to start a HTT coverband with.
>american guys butchering cutsie japanese lyrics they don't understand
I think it would be beautiful.
Music has to be solid though, you'd have to be good.

It's cheap

You can say the same for pretty much everything played in the radio today

>those amps

Oh fuck yeah

You probably never heard a fucking OST album your whole life.

Never seen the Dead"s wall of sound?
Still fabled to be the greatest sounding system that's ever been.

I have, 99% of any "acoustic" guitars are just MIDI.

You can arrange them using the main chords. You just need someone with a good voice, through.

Yep, very expensive VST's at least.

ah shit. im listening to htt right now. ive been bouncing the idea of a cover band around too.

ive never played guitar or bass in a band context but i wrote, sang harmony, and played trumpet and mandolin in a orleans style brass band, wedding cover band, jazz band, and random groups for years.

where do you live?

Most recordings anywhere usually are now. They just take samples from actual recordings to make new recordings

>Most recordings anywhere usually are now.
You mean in soundtracks or in general? I agree if you mean soundtracks, but you're definitely wrong if you mean music overall.

Not that there's anything wrong with it, but there's not really a place for an acoustic guitarist anywhere.

In order to fully appreciate denpa, an IQ in the triple digits is recommended

You can play it live, I would pay ridiculous amounts of money to see some OST on all acoustic.

Know of any cool acoustic OSTs? I know NNB has some good tracks, but even then most of those are populated with other instruments.

You are my new best friend.

Unless you want a extremely complex solo score, it is always better to play it with other musicians. You know, just change the intrumentation.

i almost moved to west jordan with a friend a few years ago. had a car packed and everything. but i stayed in san antonio.

anyway if you want to drop a contact email please do. someones borrowing my bass right now so i wouldnt be able to start on a project immediately but i'll get it back and start learning htt songs. what instrument do you play?

That's wrong, orchestral ost use sample based VSTs but acoustic guitar are always 100% real, mostly because midi guitar always sounds fake and guitarists are cheap, they're everywhere and everybody has a guitar or two.

Damn, I can never tell with how compressed and nitpicked they are.

I'm not the other guy but anyway I'm from Texas too ,what kind of stuff do you like to play? From what I've noticed San Antonio is mostly metalcore

Wow, I live basically right there (Midvale).
I'm bueno in #Sup Forums on Rizon.
I play the guitar. (But I can also hold my own on any other normal band instrument, especially if given some time to practice.) Played the piano growing up. Played the french horn all through jr and high school.

Check out the band Rovo too for me and let me know what you think - Start with the live album Tonic 2001 first prolly.

I always want to form an anime light music club, anyone ?

I'll join

Rock bands are shit, especially the anime kind.

is me
i like to play anything as long as the group and music are good. i grew up playing jazz so i guess you could consider it my favorite. a band like Snarky Puppy would be my ideal.

great, i'll be in touch. my name on rizon will provably olegc or similar.

im ten minutes into tonic and its fucking great.

*probably be

No u

Anyone here like playing stuff similar to Galneryus?

Oh man, please do.
If you like HTT and Rovo, you're two thirds of the way there - I'll make a deadhead out of you yet!

Sure where do you live?

That's good stuff but it's not what I'm looking to play but I wish you luck

i'll check out grateful dead sometime

you too. take care

>rock bands are the shit

On Sup Forums? Try your local anime club.

All of you faggots do drugs on a daily basis

Ask around in /f/ for people interested in doing animation. 2ch colloborateda nd made an anime so why can't you guys?

playing music with live instruments and creating a recording with good production really suck if you dont live near each other since music is something created in the moment and sound is highly variable and dependent on recording equipment and techniques and environment.

whereas animators can and frequently do work from home even on large projects.

besides, some anons are trying to put things together in this very thread.

>music is something created in the moment and sound is highly variable and dependent on recording equipment and techniques and environment. whereas animators can and frequently do work from home even on large projects.
Yet Sup Forums made 2 music albums from scratch and no animation project whatsoever.
You're severely underestimating the amount of work needed to animate anything, even something as short as a 1:30 anime OP.

and those took a shitton of work and drew on a lot of musicians from outside Sup Forums.

im sure animation is just as much work. but you really dont understand what it means to get everyone's recordings sounding right, to mix it all together well, to gather all the people you need to play all the parts. animation is much more suited to a bunch of people living miles apart than music.

everyone on a music project is likely to be a specialist. if you need to fix that trumpet part, you need the guy who played it to replay and rerecord it unless you happen to know a different trumpet player who is willing to record it for you (extremely unlikely), and that second trumpet wont have the same recording setup as the first, so thats more work to mix it in well. whereas to a large extent animators are trained to work on model. you can't get a guitar player to do a saxophone part. you can get an animator to do an animator part.

oh and in case you think im missing the point, are you really confused why a japanese board was able to collaborate on an animation project while a western one isnt?

i just wanted to shit on you for coming in a music thread and complaining that we're not making animation

>drew on a lot of musicians from outside Sup Forums.
What the hell are you talking about?
>im sure animation is just as much work. but you really dont understand what it means to get everyone's recordings sounding right, to mix it all together well, to gather all the people you need to play all the parts.
I've been working with orchestr/a/ for almost 3 years now so I'm well aware how all that shit works, probably more than you.
Not any chuckle fuck can play music, same as drawing, not any chuckle fuck can mix music, same as doing video editing.
>i just wanted to shit on you for coming in a music thread and complaining that we're not making animation
Different guy.
We made music before, what you're trying to do here is honestly nothing new and you're biased over music making because you do music yourself.

Where are you anons, if you are still here? I've always had the desire to play music live but don't know anybody with musical skill. What kind of stuff are you into?

I'm into Sufjan Stevens, Elliott Smith, 神聖かまってちゃん, etc.

Why not making some sort of cloud folder with some simple projects?

I dunno, some popular songs like Renai Corculation, Cruel Angel's Thesis and then more specific ones.

>> Corculation

... what about Rizon?

What state are you in?

Anyone?

I want to play music live, and not anime songs.

Michigan

>Michigan

I'm in CA. There goes our band.

Anons always end up being in California. Ah well.

I'm curious though, what is your music taste like?

If anybody from Michigan sees this, feel free to let me know if you're interested.

discord.gg/d97vp

I pretty much only listen to classical guitar, and that's all I really play nowadays, but I used to be really into prog rock when I was a teenager. I still like prog rock though, but I have no one to play with, and there's really now point of being into prog rock at all if you don't have a band. Classical is the best genre for solo instrumentation.

For rock I guess I'd say my favorite bands are Yes, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Steve Miller Band, usual dadrock stuff. As for classical I just re-listen to the usual popular classical guitar artists, I won't get into that.

>I want to play music live, and not anime songs.
Then why are you posting this on Sup Forums.

Ah, I'm into a lot more obscure and poppy stuff. Classical guitar isn't my cup of tea since the most complicated things I can play are Over the Hills and Far Away and Dust in the Wind.

Because I happened across this thread and it interested me. I enjoy anime songs but playing them live is definitely not what I'd want to make a musical career of.

Well, its something fun. Obviously you can gave a side personal project.

Sad, then, that none of its fans will care much for its music.

>Michigan
What city?

Any Texans here interested in playing rock/metal? we can play some anime stuff on the side too

St. Clair Shores

Damn, you're literally as far away from me as possible

Never works out, does it?

>since the most complicated things I can play are Over the Hills and Far Away and Dust in the Wind

The good thing about it is that the only really complicated classical guitar music is the popular music, usually. I mean pro classical guitarists are some of the best musicians in the world, and it's natural that they don't give a shit about recording the beginner and even intermediate stuff much of the time. Classical as a "genre" (it's kind of hard to define all of it as a genre) has been around longer than anything else and there is about 100x more of it than any other genre. The point I'm driving at here is that there is plenty of beautiful beginner and intermediate classical guitar music out there, it's just more obscure because no one who isn't actually learning the classical guitar gives a shit about it.

I'll admit though, if you want to be any good, it's quite a bit of an enterprise. Not really worth it if you don't want to take it up as one of your main genres. Definitely worth checking out though.

id love to make music with Sup Forums! I listen mostly to idm though. for rock stuff, krautrock all the way. also stuff like comus a lil.

Is that discord link some sort of spam? I am afraid to check.
