Is this why the US is afraid of North Korea?

SHAMEFUR DISPRAY

Imagine just how brutal that warfare and combat was, face to face fighting.

Samurai on the high seas not so much. Admiral Yi is best Korean.

>North Koreans thinking they can produce an admiral as gifted as Yi Sun-sin
this is like the one and only time the Koreans were able to stand up for themselves without someone else propping them up.

>this is like the one and only time the Koreans were able to stand up for themselves without someone else propping them up.

I know right? It's like when we defeated the Brits all by ourselves with absolutely no help from anyone whatsoever. Just plucky farmers with muskets and little to no military training or weapons or shekels from France or anyone else. Crazy awesome.

North Korea has totally abandoned the great figures of their past in favor of showing praise to the Kims. At least in the South they still pay homage to the heroes of Joseon Dynasty on their currency and consider it the pivotal era in Korea's formation.

Don't imagine, watch the kino "Roaring Currents" in OP its based & underrated

WE

>country that has to get oil from china

the chinese didn't really help the koreans all too much in during the imjin war. if anything the japanese were kicking chinese ass just as much as korean until Yi came along.

commies gonna commie

Look up Admiral Yi's life.
He is an idol.

WUZ

Based supreme idol

Excuse me where are the Cannon to sink these ship?
Chinese are literally good at making those. It the same now that NK is supported by Russia and China

If you can find it, read his journal: Nanjung Ilgi. Some of his rivals were bitter jealous cucksuckers with lots of help in the royal court. He kicked ass, made people jealous, got sidelined and pretty much retired, and then called back when everyone else fucked up.

I read up on his history, jealousy from his superiors that lead him stripped off his rank, jailed and tortured before he even became admiral really makes you think about the man. From rags to an Admiral with barely any ships and he manages to sink japcrap ego to the depths of ocean hell. I bet they dismantled korea into north and south so they can never produce another supreme master of warfare again. As long as they keep killing each other they won't be producing any legends only manchildren tards like kimmy jr.

Yeah, definitely a patriot and good leader. If you get a chance to visit the National Museum in Seoul, they have a couple replicas of his swords in cases and some other replicas as well. Really excellent museum.

He and Sejong and maybe a couple of the warrior kings from the three kingdoms periods were the only true nation builders.

How easy is the visa for tourists in korea? I am a middle-eastern non-practicing muslim.

just gas yourself

...

13 ships and raging destructive sea currents
12 of those ships ran away from previous battle where Korea lost and all their ships destroyed
Admiral Yi was genius using nature to his advantage

You mean this one?

The most amazing thing about that battle is that Admiral Yi's warship fought against the entire Japanese armada by itself for the first half of the battle, because the other 12 Korean ships were too intimidated by the massive Japanese fleet. Admiral Yi wrote a daily journal about his experience during the entire war, but it's a fucking shame that you can't find an English version of it anywhere on the Internet.

This is a good video series on Admiral Yi.
