Star Wars literally peaked with Tie Fighter. The Timothy Zahn and few other novels were great. But the second the prequels hit it was over. The only thing I've ever liked from that franchise since then was Clone Wars Animated series. That was actually ok, and I'd break my dick off in Ahsoka Tano's teen asshole while I pullled her Twi'lek head tails. Aside from that everything new sucks massive balls. I hate it.

Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising and the last command should be your starting point. That trilogy is awesome. But so are many of the rest of Zahn's books. I remember in one the smuggler guy Talon Karrde, had a Imperial II Class Star Destroyer with 300 proton torpedo launchers on it. You can't get anything more badass than that. All of his characters were amazing. The only thing that sucks is Thrawn gets killed by some race with a very similar name to niggers.
