It's Tezuka. Anyone else from the past two decades is a joke.

>butcher

Talentless hack thread?

I love the smell of bait in the afternoon.

Gen's overrated, but he's not as horrible as some anons make him out to be.

Akira Toriyama, you it's true, even Togashi started aping Toriyama with HxH.

Love him or hate him, but you cannot deny the impact Urobuchi has had on the industry.

I'll just leave this here

Not really, no. Not when there are people who outright built the conventions of the medium and its genres.

There's a reason those people are no longer relevanst

Objective Anime Influence List
1. Osamu Tezuka
2. Hideaki Anno
3. Gen Urobuchi

Everyone else is irrelevant.

Making good/popular works doesn't mean he's influential. Even if you believe Madoka is the best anime of the 2010s, it had minimal effect on the medium as a whole.

He defended the butcher though?

It was a bad influence. None of the knock-offs were good.

3 grimdark magical girl anime amongst hundreds isn't influential.

Just three? It seems like every MG series since Madoka has been grimdark with the exception of Sailor Moon Crystal and Precure (haven't seen Flip Flappers though).

>Flip Flappers
It kind of is.

Even Rumiko Takahashi has a bigger impact than Gen "the hack" Urobuchi

Yuki Yuna, Ikusei Keikaku, and not sure what else.

I like Madoka but I have to agree there. Love or hate harem comedies, Urusei Yatsura is still basically the template for anime rom-com.

Magical Girl Raising, Xenoglossia.

Xenoglossia existed before Madoka and is way closer to something like Mai-hime

>Magical Girl Raising
That is Ikusei Keikaku.

we can all agree that saya is his best work right?

Urobuchi was one of the only good things to happen to anime.

I'm giving Madoka the nod here.

Nice joke.

Even Haruhi had a bigger impact on the industry considering it was Haruhi that caused light novels to start being adapted.

Then SAO came along which originally was a web novel and then Anime started being made from web novels as well.

Gen essentially had zero impact.

Putting his name on anything doesn't sell anymore.

Sorry Gemtards but you can say KonoSuba has a bigger impact than Gen since with KonoSuba's success, even more Isekai anime will appear.

Galko caused a Gyaru Boom.

Gen didn't really cause a boom in any genre.
