I was thinking about it earlier and Emilia's whole background makes no sense whatsoever. Daughter of a witch, but most likely born centuries after all witches were killed. Is the key for a seal the witch cult is interested in opening. Was powerful as fuck at age 8 on her own. Was the forest's hope as well for some reason, and for whatever could it mean. I think we don't know half the story on her

Well, it's obvious that something screwy is going on with everything. Maybe Satella was a failed experiment, and Emilia is a way for them to start over from zero and hopefully avoid. A replacement for whatever they were originally trying to do with Satella.

Maybe a faction that wasn't actively trying to reawaken Satella or something of the kind, just content with worshipping her.
