The 1973 version is alright, but the style of animation and the song itself are too old for me. Apologies to opinionated nostalgiafags.
The 1994 version is a lot better, definitely easier to swallow.
1997 is the best. Anime of this era were really beautiful (Slayers Try and Sailor Stars being other examples). I love the late '90s anime style.
The 2004 version is my favorite remix of the song, but I don't really care for the visuals. Anime made during the first half of the 2000s is in an awkward tween phase and there's a lot of it I don't like much.
Apologies accepted, I agree with your sentiments about 2004 though
>Anime made during the first half of the 2000s is in an awkward tween phase and there's a lot of it I don't like much.
It was that awkward phase where studios were switching to digital and shows came out looking off at times.
Me on the left
I love the 2004 visuals.
I don't think it suffered from the problem that so many other anime did at the time, because it used such a different artstyle that greatly benefited from the digital use, rather than just copying what was done in the 90s
Really wish we got more stuff in that artstyle, all else done in it was Panty and Stocking really, maybe Luluco too.
In 95 I was just really getting into this stuff. I'd seen stuff like Voltron. Flying House and Super Book, but the Sci-Fi channel's annual anime runs on late-night changed the game for me.
Apollo Smile was a mistake though
oh my dawgggg
1994 by far.
The Imaishi one belongs in the garbage bin.
97 is trash because it looks like generic sailor moon shit
Funny, seeing that IIRC it replaced Sailor Moon after it finished its final season
I like 2004's but only because I can see the Imaishi influence in the OP animation.

Oops. I dropped this.
Shin > original > Re >>> Flash
I still kinda want to watch Flash but nosubs.
>inb4 learn moon
I am trying.
Yes, it says "Amerikajin no Anime Otaku-tachi" meaning basically "American Otaku". Note otaku is plural here.
Neither. There was a little-known Kitaro series called Hakaba Kitaro, it's more of a seinen. They blocked the OP video with the song Mononoke Dance on youtube a while back from copyright, so here's just the full song.

Shame can't see the nice manga style visuals of the video.
97 is trash with it going melodramatic bullshit with another Prince in peril like all the shitty Sailor moon ripoffs at the time,
2004 > 1997 >1973 > 1994
Forced Waifu: The Anime.
