Who gives a shit.

Soviet republic with a sprinkle of low level capitalism but even more cult of personality

Nazbol ethnostate

Pretty much this, they literally kept their soviet era flag, if you want a pretty much realistic USSR/communistic feel without getting jailed and sent to a work camp in North Korea, yet still enjoying yourself Belarus is the place to go

The people are nice, prices are cheap and overall it's a cool place

t.northern neighbor

poor dictatorship puppet of Russia

they are happy, that's what happens.

A country where common sense dies.

t.Belarusian

Also a country where an armless man was once arrested for illegally clapping in public.

It is the potato nation

There's an unemployment tax, so you basically have to pay a fine if you can't find a job. Well, technically it's suspended at the moment, but it's not outright cancelled either.

Also did 9/11 to distract everyone from investigating voter fraud during elections.

Well they removed the Hammer and Sickle but it's still the same flag.

It's better to be a dicator than to be Gay.

Been to Belarus.

AMA

Someone help me out, I know as little as the OP

Then ask me a question, cunt.

>cunt

wow ok take that attitude

how cheap are their carpets?

Belarus suddenly loves Bitcoin.

Everything is cheap in Belarus if you have a EU-level salary.

all they do is suck putin's dick all day.

where to eat in minsk? where to launder rubles?

B

I bet they got some hot women there.

Russian puppet state that acts as a buffer between Russia proper and NATO.

Do they get along with English people, and is it worth visiting? Also what is the architecture like?

Do they have cheap land, and a rail infrastructure capable of transporting a lot of people?

some slavic things i guess

Carpets? Listen here, you dumb fuck. I don't give two shits about how much their carpets cost. What kind of a retarded question is that?

DON'T eat microwavable Chibureks. I got food poisoning and was throwing up and shitting black alien bile for 4 days.

How much sunlight do they get during winter?

This was the flag
doesn't look similar at all

peaceful life, people under russian pressure though

Nobody speaks English. Best to make a friend there so they can show you around, or take a friend that speaks Russian with you. Even at the airport people didn't speak English. There are some signs in English but it
is rare, everything is in Cyrilic at the shop and everywhere.

But yeah if you're a foreigner chicks will literally jump on your dick. I got 75 matches on tinder in 2 days and I didn't have tinder+ or whatever it's called, just 50 swipes a day. You can see their mouths watering if you speak English to your friend.

Is it comfy? How do the people live? What are the sights like?

Not sure about land prices, but the railway system is decent, although most people living in the capital don't need to travel outside of Minsk since that's where most profitable jobs are.

We're generally known for being friendly with literally everyone.

You guessed right.

Avoid food in train stations and shady kiosks, otherwise can eat anywhere.

Isn't that because, like most Slavic girls, they're gold-digging whores?

b8?

A reasonable amount. I'm from the UK and am in Finland now and it's quite crazy how little sun there is. It rises at 10 and sets at 4. Belarus is more south so it's not as bad. I think the sun rises at around 9 there and sets at roughly 5ish and that was early December.

That's the USSR flag, this one is BSSR.

that wasn't a country. ussr was a country

Also, since most countries don't need a visa for being in Belarus for up to 2 weeks, it's now much easier to see for yourselves than it was a couple years ago.

union of soviet socialist republics

Pssst, Fingol, over here

I guess this isn't a flag either then?

You're a total faggot.

People don't live well. Most are very poor and depend on alcohol to make the pain of their surroundings go away. It's not like Africa or anything, but by Western European, and even Eastern European EU country standards it's poor. Much better than Russia and Ukraine though. Quite a lot of food choice and people aren't starving on the streets, but you will notice the different.

Lots to see and do, it's very spread so look at a guide book. Many lovely churches and parks and museums. If you love WW2 history then there's a ton of stuff to see.

Maybe. A lot of them want a way out. There's also the fact that Belarus has more men than women, so many women will settle for a below average dude. If you're from the west and take care of your looks then you're a rockstar there.

except these republic were not countries, they were glorified provinces
except thats an actual country

Huh, p*lacks and other tards here gave me the impression it was a good place to live in.

I don't happen to see England on the map as a country.

If it was, people wouldn't be trying to leave.

> architecture
Similar to Polish and Russian

>English
Yeah...
No

You won't have any luck speaking English in Belarus
If you know Polish or Russian then you can survive there easily

Belarus
Compared to what you, westerners think, is a very 'good looking' country
There's a lot to see, a lot to visit, a lot to buy ( they have a lot of tasty and healthy food, you won't find this in West)

It's a damn fucking shame that every western thinks that Belarus is a shithole.
Belarusians themselves are cool people ( I might be wrong here, because most of them are positively biased towards poles, so I never had any problems with them. Although I have no idea how they would treat a westerner)

I don't think so. If you want that Eastern European vibe then move to Poland. It's superior to Belarus in every way.

Also we use PINK coins in our metro.

except its an actual country, just not sovereign.

Off yourself ye fuckin spastic
No one insults my family

And that's exactly what BSSR was.

See, I'm comflicfed. Is it your average agriculturaly driven depressive state, or a stable and recovering nation that's becoming feasible to reside in? Note, there's a big difference between nice to visit and nice to live in.

Big trucks

Sorry mate but they need to go back

when did you move to germany and why

also aren't you just russians

2 years ago for an additional degree. Got a degree in Physics in Minsk but career prospects for physicists in Belarus are quite dire.
> also aren't you just russians
Many are Russians due to USSR, many Poles and Ukrainians, but most are Belarusian. I'd say most people don't really care about that, although there are exceptions that get very butthurt if you call them Russian.

I had an elementary school classmate who was a refugee from Belarus. He was a really cool dude and quite smart, we played against each other in chess national finals.
I’ve been thinking about visiting Belarus, but I don’t speak a word of Russian. It’s crazy how there’s literally no news about Belarus ever. It’s like they don’t exist. Kind of like Georgia, etc.

I sold my old Audi to a Belarusian immigrant. He used a hand winch to pull it up onto some sketchy home made wooden trailer, funny shit to watch. Also, his wife was SUPER beautiful.

nothing at all

how good is your german

Yeah, even in Slovenia, arguably the least slavic country of slavic countries, women are so much better looking than men. We mostly look like shit while women are easily top notch.

Not very good, my program and work are both strictly in English. Didn't really have the need to learn German beyond basic grocery store level, although I do feel guilty about not speaking the language properly and studying it now.

It's not " agriculturaly driven depressive state"
It is really, really cheap to live in, tho.
You can become rich in Belarus If you work for western /Polish company and live in Belarus.

This country also has that.. Pure and unique Slavic climate.
Climate that is not tainted by globalism

Belarus is slowly, but surely, changing.
Belarus is slowly allowing more and more tourists in. Government also became much more tolerant of (European) foreigners.

Recently they gave some kind of privilege to citizens of Poland, we can visit western Belarus without visa.

I would not mind living there if I has Belarusian wife and a job for Polish company

The beauty of white European women will be preserved in the slavic states as it vanishes from Western Europe

They are not Russians
Believe it or not but Belarusian nation is older than USA or Germany

Ok, how tf do they do shit like this

Also World of Tanks, how could I forget.

dis

You know how it was in the 90's after the iron curtain fell in Eastern Europe (Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, etc.) ?

>You know how it was in the 90's after the iron curtain fell in Eastern Europe (Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, etc.) ?
Shit.

read a fucking paper you worthless 9gag tier time parasite.

oh yeah i forgot everyone speaks english in germany
when has belarus ever been independent before 1991?

it should be split between poland and russia like ukraine

Then why do they all speak Russian and let their language die off?

>paper
>on Belaruss

it's either that or freeze to death

We were a part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania for centuries, when we talk about Belarusian nation, it's in the context of that.

>inb4 hurr durr that doesn't count.

>read a fucking paper you worthless 9gag tier time parasite.

But what did he mean by this?

Yet another westerner that does not understand the difference between a nation and a state.

Belarusians, just like Slovakians do not have a history of long independence.
But it does not change the fact that Belarusians were always there, as a nation.

By the way
Belarus was independent in 1918.

At this point speaking Russian is just more convenient. Furthermore, our state is absolutely retarded when it comes to enforcing our native language, they can't even agree on grammar norms and even those they change every year. Basically I've been studying different languages in 1st and 11th grades.

How different is Belarussian to Russian language?

if you understand one, you'll mostly understand the other. Belarusian is basically somewhere between Russian, Ukrainian and Polish.

It sounds like ebonics compared to english. That's actually why most belarusians refuse to learn it.

they pretend to be poland

i know what a nation i just find it weird they haven't been assimilated in russia or poland by now

oh yeah and i forgot about 1918, the government is still in exile isnt it
if they don't speak belarusian and are east slavic they should just become part of russia

if putin annexes ukraine belarus will go with it

How different?
Now - get this

Belarusian has a more in common with Polish language ( western Slavic) than it has with Russian.

I can't understand Russians but Belarusians can easily understand me, and vice versa.
We don't even have to try to speak slowly or without slangs.
You can go to Belarusian nightclub and talk to Belarusian chicks in Polish and they will understand everything

>That's actually why most belarusians refuse to learn i
>"Belarousians"
Good shitpost Ivan.

>if they don't speak belarusian and are east slavic they should just become part of russia
So all major cities in Britain are a part of India, Fair Point.

> if putin annexes ukraine belarus will go with it

Kek, no. As much as we consider Russians our bros, our potatoes are OUR potatoes. Actually, people serving in out military right now tell that since recently they are being prepared for a potential invasion from Russia. Russia CAN annex us, but we won't join willingly. There may be some separatists in the eastern regions, but our regime, unlike Ukraine, doesn't fuck around when it comes to suppressing protests.

Very nice people, probably nicest Slavs.
Contrary to idiots it's not a ''Russian puppet'', Lukashenko is allied with Russians of course, but he's not taking direct orders from Putin.

>if putin annexes ukraine belarus will go with it
the hacker known as Belarus will do no such thing stop spreading ridiculous lies you limey kike

Nothing.

They just farm potatoes. It's a blissful existence.

They have been more or less attached to Polish national identity

We share the same history
We share the same great people
We share the same national heroes ( Kościuszko, for an example)
We share cuisine
Our languages are very closely tied together

It was recently estimated that at least 30% of poles have Belarusian origins. And at least 20% of Belarusians have Polish origins.

Interesting.

Man I’m looking at pictures and Belarus looks absolutely amazing. Kind of like Ukraine. I have got to go see it once in my life time.

So we can be bros?
We like you, we both love potato.
By the way how is Lukashenko looking, will he stay in power?

1 they are very different from us
2 we are on the other side of the planet
3 they speak the local langauge
yeah but if that's what it takes
great then it should be easy to assimilate west belarus into polish society shouldn't it?
