This is the WN, and she probably has more than one pair, and I'm not sure if Subaru was guessing. He still comes off as a creep compared to how he is in arc 4, where he's mostly just a creep to Emilia.

White is just kind of the default most things go to, you don't even get to see any real fanservice for the twins in the anime.

Noticing something. WN Subaru doesn't seem to clearly distinguish between Rem and Ram in the first loop. Usually just thinks of them as the "twins" or "pink hair/blue hair". He seems to have assumed both of them have a thing for Roswaal, even though only Ram has actually shown that kind of thing. He compares her attitude to that of a faithful dog.

She probably is. However, in the first two loops, WN Arc 2 Subaru feels confident that Roswaal is fucking them both. He seems to be jealous of him, and it gives him a subtle NTR feeling.

I haven't read wn Arc 2 in a long time but I remember it being much slower at the start and Subaru being more of a meme shithead in ways that weren't really good. According to jp wiki most people hated it which was probably why most of the dialogue at the beginning parts was changed completely.

Well, I was suspicious before, but I'd have to see how the scene plays out exactly. It could either be written somewhat vaguely or fairly definitively. Fire should be a way to kill her for good, but the Ayamatsu thing made me more suspicious because she randomly survives there when Subaru thought she was dead and literally everything was on fire. At least until Reinhard gets her for good.

The LN differs from the WN in various ways. I just started reading the earlier chapters of the WN, and Subaru comes across as more of a scummy memelord than in the LN. He implies Ram is a whore, thinks both twins are fucking Roswaal, and is hoping Emilia's going to be easy to fuck.

Yeah. I just started reading today. I'm sure he improves, but he's starting at a low point. At least he's improved from thinking of Rem and Ram as "blue hair and pink hair". Now they're "Crappier version of Rem and Better version of Ram".

Subaru isn't really the only one. Even as a joke, this seems really out of character for them. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I feel the way Rem and Ram are introduced is really weird given their actual personalities.

Arc 3 Subaru is not even that bad. Reading the manga gives me the impression that White Fox exaggerated his douchiness and purposely made him unlikeable for whatever reason (to make him more "realistic" and his road of redemption post-From Zero more impressive I guess).

Well the early chapters of arc 3 translated by Kaguro also indicate the same thing, but we'll have to wait for transcriber-kun to read it. As the bigginning of arc 2 Subaru sounds kind of like and asshole.

Their introduction is straight from the WN, where it doesn't stand out so much.
Generally speaking, Subaru doesn't seem to be as close to the twins yet. He also wants to avoid the subject of Roswaal around them, because he doesn't want to hear about them fucking the Clown. Which he assumes both of them do. Rem seems confused by why he suddenly ended their conversation at the village.

He's decided he'll look into it more next loop, if he dies before his fate with Emilia.

Its not that they're different in the WN vs their intro in the anime or manga or whatever, but that their intro is weird for what we come to learn of them.

you don't have to think anything of it. it was dumb writing that apparently nobody even liked and was rightfully removed in the edited version. Subaru was a dumbass pre-from zero but this was probably too much.

you're not entirely wrong that it was somewhat exaggerated in the anime but remember the manga isn't a 100% faithful adaptation either.

I feel like everything in regards to the twins, especially Rem, is supposed to be misleading at first. Because Rem is supposed to be the "rising heroine" so her actual role and personality would be unveiled at a later point of the story. And in their introduction, Rem and her sister instead came across as generic and cringey maids so no one would have the impression that they are something special.

In the WN, this goes a step further, because the early chapters are written in such a way to suggest both Rem and Ram fuck the clown together. Subaru feels certain about it, even though he doesn't really have evidence. The narrator even obfuscates the issue, by saying the reason why Rem wasn't in the room giving her report to Roswaal was because Ram was Subaru's instructor.

Ram says that either she or Rem wait outside the bath to help dress the clown, and Rem mentions a scar around Roswaal's chest, one that he's apparently proud of, after Subaru brings up how he doesn't want to heal the dog bite. That's when Subaru ends the conversation immediately.

The best part is that Subaru's jealous, and doesn't think it's right for him to have two attractive girls all to himself. And this is the Subaru that WN Arc 4 Subaru grew out of.
