My first real exposure to leftism was Sup Forums and Sup Forums about a decade ago, and it was the prevailing thought. I think there's a lot of new people here that got swept into it from the alt-right stuff and know Sup Forums is an internet haven for it.
You can even see some of the weird contradictions in thought as the political views on the site are changing: WikiLeaks is becoming more contentious; one of the biggest conspiracies (which Sup Forums loves) is being ignored (talking about Russia/Trump); Sup Forums is slowly starting to like cops (seriously this site introduced me to the "Cops, the biggest gang on the street" video back in the day), Manning and Snowden aren't heroes anymore, a billionaire is the boards biggest hero, the board likes Mike Pence who, a decade ago, would be considered the EXACT kind of guy Sup Forums hated (religious, gay bashing, censoring, etc.), the list goes on and on. One of the biggest ones has to be religion though. Sup Forums was one of the the sites for religion bashing and the growing atheism movement in the mid to late 00's. Now I regularly see threads on Sup Forums praising Christianity and trying to convert people. This site used to be all about countering traditional and conservative values...now it's in love with them.
