With the the Steele dossier and Russian collusion story suffering being dismantled at an alarming rate, the press and media who played a role in this hoax and disinfo campaign cannot be allowed to back away or claim they weren't willing participants.
There have been several stories in the NYT and others that are trying to walk back or attempting to confuse the history of the reporting on the dossier and collusion narrative.
For one year we have been called Russian bots and that Trump or any dissenting voice is paid by Putin. Now, these smug goons will be made to show that the only Russian disinformation of the past year was their coverage and publication of the dossier. The dossier was sources from Russian intelligence. No one bothered to think if it was purposeful disinformation. The press who promulgated the Russian collusion narrative, who became McCarthyism embodied, were the embodiment of everything they feared. There is nothing more poetic and just about this conclusion for those people.
Now the time has come to archive local journalists and press tweets and stories who pushed for and alleged collusion with Russia. Do not let them walk away from their complete failure. These people need to be held accountable publicly for what they have done. Make sure they take blame and own up to their abysmal judgement and blind support of anything anti Trump.

Also maybe that one time CNN NBC and ABC all released an article about Trump receiving Clinton emails before public release simultaneously claiming that they've been independently verified which all turned out to be a hoax.

Think about the term Russian collusion for a minute. Has anyone ever defined it? Did Russia hack the election or did Trump collude with the Russians? Which one was it? How did they hack the election? What was hacked? If Trump was colluding with the Russians, what exactly does that entail? What acts did Trump make that would qualify as collusion and is there proof of those acts taking place?

Russian collusion happens every year, for example Russian bots trying to influence election, not necessarily working with Trump. Like there were some fake protests where Russians played both sides. They're spinning it into a narrative that Trump worked with Putin.
Russians bought ads too, but 90% of it was censored by Twitter and Zuckerberg as they censored 90% of conservative tweets like #DNCLeaks. They pretend things like this never happened.
Election hacking is fake, none of it proven as it was the DHS/CIA who did the hacking and IP can easily be faked if you saw the Wikileaks Vault 7. They claim there was an attempted hack based on Russian IP but there was no successful hack so it doesn't mean anything. Afterwards several state debunked it by saying they hacked a different department.
Think of it this way. I could buy Facebook ads and that would be considered Australian interference. They already know how much $$$ was used for the fake protests ($300), and ads ($5-10,000), which is something the average joe can afford. Doesn't have to be "Putin". Pretty much every country does this as there are big stakes in the election.

I think this is the point. The press needs to be shown how their poor ethics and garbage standards have led all of us to this nonsense. If the Press would return to "ethics in journalism" , they would have not made this monumental disaster for themselves.

I think out of desperation they have overplaid their hand and the fallout has been too quick. Their tailspin is not recoverable.
