As the others have said, find someone to work with. Redrawing is possibly the most taxing thing someone can do relative to scanlation. Find a redrawer/cleaner, and kill 80% of your work. You can still patch up their work if you don't completely like the results; but you won't have to do all kinds of bullshit anymore.

It's mainly about a middle aged guy who rediscovers an old Group B Starion belonging to his boss that he never got to race since Group B got canned before it could run. He fixes it up and takes it out on the streets. It's bit of a twist on the usual coming of age story, this time it's an older guy coming to terms with his own age.
It's all car stuff basically.

For the first time I tried stretching the dialogue font up to 115% vertically and shrinking it down to 95% horizontally, that way it takes up more space in the bubbles, without deforming the font too much.
Maybe it's an autistic thing to care about, but I think it looks nice.

No, but the first 4 chapters have absolutely garbage scans. You're better off taking the ones from nyaa and cleaning those. As for the translation, I don't know if it's worth it.

Depending on how many sfx there are, I typeset dialogue first on all the pages, then typeset all the sfx so I don't have to keep switching from one font to the other every page. I feel it saves me some time.

Vanilla Spider needs a TL, the one who signed up only did a couple chapters before disappearing. The first volume's almost done, just redoing the existing chapters with tank scans since the previous group outright skipped some bubbles and was fairly liberal in their translation.

I did like 10 pages of Maid in Japan, but I'm not satisfied with how I removed the noise. I should have burned it manually, but I instead used more leveling on already leveled pages. Gotta redo that I guess.

I wish I could find someone to edit stuff for me, I could translate and they could edit, I've joined groups before but it takes literally multiple months for a single chapter and then they just disband. There's only enthusiasm for a few days when the group starts, that stretches out over a few months of not really caring anymore before everyone just leaves.

Nothing in particular just random doujin's when I feel like it because I hate doing editing to be consistent for a series. I would definitely want to do a series if I didn't have to edit and the editor actually put in time, but most people do like an hour every other day at most, and maybe an hour a month at least. Realistically I would love to do a chapter a day.

Yes, amazon sells some cheap Huion model for about $40, but I'm still kind of on the fence about it. It's not really going to do anything that can't be done with the usual fonts.
I'm not ruling it out anyway, if anything it could save me some valuable time when typesetting.
