This is probably the better way to do it. On an Opt-In system, you get stories about doctors allowing wounded but still savable patients to expire, if they're a donor, so that the organs can be used where needed. With an Opt-Out system, presumably, there wouldn't be so much pressure to find these organs because most people would be donors by default.

With any luck, it won't matter soon, and we'll have clonable organs available to most people.

There's no guarantee that the kid is going to be a good member of society. He could end up a drug addict or anything else.
It might even hamper the productivity of the parents and drive them into seeking social services and being a leech.
